Thank you so much for joining us for The Second City 65th Anniversary Show. We’re delighted you’re here as we kick off our new season at Syracuse Stage. We’re starting with something different this year: two weeks of sketch and improv comedy created and performed by the country’s most acclaimed comedy troupe. Our subscription season gets underway in October. In the meantime, as we enter fall and prepare for a very noisy and contentious couple of months on the national scene, we thought a night of comedy would do us all good.
If you are currently a subscriber to Syracuse Stage: thank you! We look forward to sharing a season of amazing theatrical stories with you. If you’re not yet a Stage subscriber, now is the perfect time to join us! You can join for an entire season or pick the three plays that look most interesting to you.
Subscribing to Syracuse Stage is the very best way in Central New York to guarantee fun and meaningful nights out with loved ones and friends (and a great way to make new friends!). We’ve created several special events and activities that will enhance your experience, too. So please, consider the one-of-a-kind experience of Syracuse Stage this season. The best ac-
tors and creative artists from across the country come together to create theatre just for you. Join us!
And now, until we see you in October for Dial M for Murder, please enjoy the comedy hijinks of The Second City!
Warmly,
Robert Hupp Artistic Director

The Second City may be responsible for making more people laugh than any other single entity—in the Western Hemisphere, anyway.
-The New York Times
Today, The Second City is home to a world-class entertainment company, continuing to produce premier talent in all three of its locations–Chicago, Toronto, and New York–and entertaining more than one million audience members a year. From Steve Carell to KeeganMichael Key, Stephen Colbert to Tina Fey, Chris Farley to Mike Myers, Second City’s imprint is all over film, television, and beyond.
In addition to its stages, Second City Touring Companies perform electrifying revues and original productions across North America and abroad, and creative collaborations have produced thrilling and critically acclaimed work in partnership with organizations like the John F. Kennedy Cen-
ter for the Performing Arts, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Norwegian Cruise Line, the New York Comedy Festival, and the Chicago Bulls.
Second City Training Centers in Chicago, Toronto, New York, and online teach thousands of students a year, and the opening of the Harold Ramis Film School in 2016 gave the world the first film school dedicated to comedy. Finally, Second City Works is an industry leader in bringing improvbased methodologies to businesses and organizations of all types.
We hope you enjoy the show... after all, it’s been 65 years in the making.
