Nutrition Month

Some 48% of Canadians believe that their diet isn’t

perfect, yet they try to eat healthier when they can.

Males aged between 35 and 54 are the demographic

most likely to believe that they could be eating a lot

healthier.

According to a survey conducted in January

2020, 69% of Canadians surveyed had tried

the keto diet because they wanted to lose

weight. Another 48% of the sample, stated

their main motive had been general concern

for their health and well-being.

A vegan diet is a total vegetarian diet. Besides not eating meat, vegans don't eat food that comes from animals in any way. That includes milk products, eggs, honey, and gelatin (which comes from bones and other animal tissue).

While only 7% of Canadians currently

follow a primarily plant-based diet, a

significant number (27%) are considering

doing so in the future!

A paleo diet typically includes lean meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds — foods that in the past could be obtained by hunting and gathering. A paleo diet limits foods that became common when farming emerged about 10,000 years ago. These foods include dairy products, legumes and grains. 4% of Canadians have

tried the Paleo Diet
