Welcome everyone to The Big Chill. What a difference a year makes. As 2022 draws to a close, the grain bins are full, and the bales are stacked high, much different circumstances from that of 2021. We are so very grateful for all the good things in our lives. We want to thank Wayne and Linda Meakin for the opportunity to acquire their fantastic herd and we look forward to sharing these genetics with the world. Welcome to “The Big Chill” Speckle Park Sale, the evening of December 17, 2022, at the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. “The Big Chill” has been a feature event in the Speckle Park breed since its inception. Hosted by Rob and Janice, INC Cattle Company and along with their friends and guests… Highmark Speckle Park, Johner Stock Farms and KFC Farms LTD., present an outstanding offering of seedstock and genetics in this exciting breed.

In keeping with annual tradition, INC offer their top bull calf… INC Rembrandt 10K, an outstanding herd bull in the making who has already proved to be competitive and gaining many friends… the strength of a breeding program is based on top sires… “Rembrandt” is a bull for the future!

The live section of the event features hand-picked heifer calves that are competitive in nature and destined to make front pasture donors. The bred heifers have been selected from the top and carry early services… you are a month or two away from clipping a coupon. Genetically diverse, phenotypically ideal… valuable property.

A major part of the sale offering are the embryos…. “The Big Chill”. Each of the operations involved runs very large embryo transfer programs using the finest donors the breed has to offer. That is the reason that these breeding units are so competitive in the show ring. Becka 1B is a Sailor Boy daughter and the dam of KFC Gladiator 1G, the bull we successfully showed. She is a heavy milking, nice uddered cow that brings home a big calf every fall. A first calf daughter of hers brought home a calf indexing 123 and carries many of the same traits as her dam. 1B is a moderate, productive cow that can raise bulls and females alike. This exciting mating with Hawkeye is one we are looking forward to having on the ground.

Cashmere 1C is the dam of the 2021 Agribition Reserve Champion heifer calf, KFC Cashmere 33J. Cashmere 33J was successfully shown in 4H as well as Jr shows this past summer. 1C also has a few really nice daughters we have retained in our herd. She is a powerful cow with a near perfect udder. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATIONS: A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

HEALTH: All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements.

PREGNANCY INFORMATION: All serviceable age females have been pregnancy examined by an accredited veterinarian, giving an estimated length of gestation. This estimated gestation period shall be used only as a guideline to calving and is not a guarantee of actual service.
