We would like to extend the warmest of welcomes to all of our friends, neighbors and fellow cattlemen to join us here at the farm for the 2023 edition of our annual bull sale. Time flies by so quickly, it doesn’t seem like any time at all, since I was writing this welcome a year ago.
We are very happy with the crop of bulls we have on offer this year, very consistent in quality from top to bottom. On the simmental side, we have several full brothers on offer, out of our donor cows. If you are looking for full brothers to run together in the same pasture, or just a single bull, there are some very interesting individuals in this pen. On the angus side, not as many full brothers, but lots of halves to choose from. We’re very happy with how they look, from top to bottom.
Again this year, we have a very nice group of commercial bred heifers that begin calving at the start of April. They are bred to calving ease angus bulls and wintered on a corn silage, oat silage, and chopped hay ration, with appropriate amount of mineral added. We are confident that the calves will come out easily, as the heifers are in great condition.
On a sad note, Eric’s mother, Marilyn, passed away just before Christmas. Marilyn was a wonderful person, very outgoing, friendly, a great neighbor, and of course a true inspiration to her family. She left fair too soon and will be sadly missed!
Thanks again to all the people here at the farm, who come everyday and make sure all the jobs get done. It’s what makes the world go round, for sure! Thank-you to all our customers who support us every year. It is what makes this business so rewarding.
In closing, we look forward to seeing you again on March 2nd here at the farm. Come join us for lunch and have a look around. If you can’t come that day, we are here most of the time. Feel free to stop in for a visit.
On behalf of the JP Crew, Barry Lowes

GUARANTEE: All sale bulls are fully guaranteed as breeding bulls. We will be keeping back a few bulls as replacements, if one may be required.
March 2, 2023• 1 PM McAuley, Manitoba
HEALTH: All cattle are on a full Pfizer Health Protocol. Rebecca Gervin from ValleyFlats Vet Service has done all semen test, scrotal measurement and preg-checking. Bulls were treated with Ivomec at weaning, September 9, 2022 and December 30, 2022.
FEED RATION: The bulls have been fed a complete TMR grower ration. Bullseye Feeds balances this ration for us. We strive to develop these bulls to grow at a steady and reasonable pace after weaning. We want to have bulls ready for our customers, at breeding season, that are in good breeding condition. We strive to raise bulls that can get out, walk, and maintain their body condition. We strongly recommend leaving the bulls at the farm after the sale, where we will keep them on this grower ration, at no cost to the purchaser, until delivery. We would like to have most of the bulls delivered by the 1st of May, if possible.

Welcome to the JP Cattle Co., Simmental & Angus Annual Spring Bull sale, March 2, 2023 at the ranch headquarters, McAuley, Manitoba. The JP boys will agree that this 2023 offering is the best and largest lineup of uniform bulls in frame and type. Over the past several years, the Lowes have purchased high end, high quality, predictable sires, and their selections have now given their customers that added value edge in the bulls selected for their breeding programs.
Both the Simmental and Angus are rugged, with plenty of hair and muscle shape… they are performance minded yet come to you with very moderate and acceptable birth weights. Farmers and Ranchers can freely take advantage of the JP program knowing that the bulls are sourced from a very large cow herd base. The ET bulls that are selling will be a feature for this event… out of superior donor mothers, these youngsters deserve a second look! A great pen of commercial bred heifers to fit any type of operation. Calving in April… the coupons they are carrying are just a couple of months away. These heifers offer that great maternal quality as those offered in the past and will be an asset to your program as the shortage of breeding females is growing every year.
Feel free to stop by the ranch any time prior to the sale and get the boys to give you a tour and maybe see the mothers. Do not hesitate to give any of the JP crew a call to discuss the bulls and offer suggestions of which bull or bulls will fit your breeding needs.
If we may be of assistance, prior to or sale day, feel free to contact any of the T Bar Team or myself, we will help you in a professional manner.

We purchased Wheatland Monument from our good friends at Wheatland in their 2021 bull sale. We were looking for a purebred simmental bull that we could breed heifers to if we desired. When you lay eyes on him, he looks like anything but a heifer bull with his sheer mass and thickness, but the way he calves is just as we hopedcome small and then have explosive growth.
Mixing the power house MBJ 135A to the calving ease of Monument was a pretty easy decision for us. We think the results speak for themselves with these 4 full brothers, especially with Lot 2, who has been the pen favorite since he was a calf. We unfortunately lost 135A this fall due to an injury, but her many daughters will carry on her legacy.
This mating has been very successful for us in the past so we needed to try it again in hope of a female. We were unsuccessful in that mission but we ended up with these 3 studs.
3 full brothers to one of the best simmental bulls we have raised to date JPCC Confederate 49G, who walks the pastures in Nebraska for Kearns Cattle Company.
As you flip through the pages you will see direct sons of Confederate that will make your mouth water. Get in on ground level with these guys, you can’t go wrong.

This is a flush we are very happy with! JLP 125F was our go to flush cow who we unfortunately lost to lighting this summer. Linnette would stop you in your tracks with her tremendous capacity, gorgeous udder and great feet. She had two high sellers in our sale last year that went to Scissor Creek Simmentals and Bartel Cattle Co. We feel these 5 sons have a great future ahead of them.

Our lone bull off of Diamond M Bull 917G, who we purchased to clean up our red cows and we unfortunately lost him. 216K will sire those types of calves that push the scale down in the fall.
To lead off our percentage bulls we are extremely proud of these 6 full brothers off 120D and Confederate. 120D was our pick of the cows at the Stewart Cattle Co Dispersal. She received a lot of attention that day and we were not the only ones who wanted to own her. She is a big barreled, good uddered, free moving individual - she’s everything we look for in a cow. Flushing her to Confederate was a very easy decision for us. As you analyze the bulls you will appreciate their natural thickness, easy fleshing, big middle, and testicle size.
This was a large flush and we never implanted all the embryos and the ones we are receiving this year are averaging 85-95lbs so we attribute the extra birth weight on a couple of these bulls to the harsh winter and the extra feed intake of the recipients.

621E is a beautiful Napoleon daughter that we chose when we bought the Pick of Herd from Blair’s Ag, who went directly into our donor pen. It was an easy decision to cross her with Turning Heads and the results speak for themselves.

JPCC Turning Heads 066K has been a pen favorite since he was a calf. He’s off a beautiful first calver who came to us in dam from Bar H Land and Cattle. We are currently calving the first crop of Turning Heads daughters and they are just what we hoped for, perfect udders, good mothering instincts and very well put together. 066K is sure to catch your eye on sale day.

This is a cow bull that is sure to add pounds to your calves in the fall. Out of a very nice renown daughter we purchased from the Johnson Livestock dispersal. 064K ranks right near the top of the pen for docility as well.
If you are looking to add middle and hair to your cattle, these Basin Payweight sons are the ones to do it.
Cache Creek never seems to miss, he has bred our angus and simmental heifers for years and when our senior herd sire went down in the spring, Cache Creek was called in to clean up after AI’ing. 0129K will catch the eye of many on March 2nd.

We have been purchasing bulls from JP for several years now. They are great people to deal with and have a good understanding of the type of bulls that commercial cattlemen need. We think the quality and consistency of the bulls have been excellent and continues to improve each year. The bulls have been performing well at our ranch under our management style and that is important to us. We look forward to continuing to improve our commercial herd’s genetics with JP Cattle bulls.
Calvin BartelBartel Cattle Corp.
We have been purchasing bulls from the good people at JP Cattle- the Lowes and Patemans since 2016 . The bull battery these guys have acquired over the years is quite impressive . We’ve been a huge fan of their percentage bulls, bulls that work great for a commercial operation, low maintenance, free moving, and calves that tip the scale every fall . We’ve built our cow herd up from these genetics and haven’t been disappointed . We look forward to continuing working with them!
Gab HuberdeauA & C Huberdeau Farms
This year we have 50 top quality bred heifers available for sale on March 2nd. They are bred to start calving the last week of March and finish up in the middle of May. We have a nice group of reds and black, with some blazed faced ones in the mix this year. They are very good quality heifers that are up to date on their vaccinations and have had their first shot of scour guard. They are bred by home raised easy calving Angus bulls. They will sell in groups of 3 and 4 head.
