Welcome to Kuntz/McIntosh/ SAJ Simmental Bull Sale, Tuesday March 14th, Lloydminster Exhibition Grounds, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. This trio of Simmental leaders are coming to town with an outstanding lineup of herd bull prospects that require your scrutiny whether you are a purebred breeder or a cow/calf producer. The depth of quality is second to none… the kind that will produce those heavy weight stockers that will fetch a premium. The Fullblood section is powerful… muscle, hair, depth, width, and volume. They are genetically designed to add pounds at weaning. The offering of the sought-after Red Purebreds is exciting, and consistent through the entire sale offering while the Blacks are low in numbers but high in quality.

It is amazing to have such a potent group of bulls with such diversity in genetics.

For the record, it took a pandemic to stop the Canadian Western Agribition Supreme Champion Pen of Bulls winning streak but the McIntosh Family picked it up and started again… congratulations are in order. They will help headline the Purebred section of this event.

Break The Bank

Miss Moses 517C has done it again! Her ability to raise the feature Fleckvieh bull in the pen year after year convinced us to use her as an embryo donor in an attempt to get some daughters off her who might also produce that level. She did give us a couple heifer calves last year that we are very excited about but she did also gives us these two stud bull calves. Break the Bank is slightly smoother made with a bit more extension to his front end, while Broker has a bit more rugged muscle shape to him. All the calves off this flush have tons of pigment and exceptional hair coats. And, I challenge you to find a pair of fullblood bulls that are darker coloured than these two. Every one of 517C’s sons to date are working in purebred herds and I believe these two bulls have enough good about them that her streak could cotinue. Non-Diluter.

Phil is a cherry red, heavily pigmented bull that will have some friends sale day. Typical of the Esposito sons, he has a nice square hip with plenty of length and a little extra eye appeal. His mother is a stout made, powerful cow that always stays in good shape. Phil should sire a nice set of replacement females. Diluter test pending.

Tony is one of those bulls that always catches your eye. He has a little extra style along with the ideal color pattern and that sharp mahogany red coat that everyone loves. He is a smooth made bull with a strong, square hip. This well balanced bull is a carbon copy of his full brother who sold to Daryl Paulgard at last year’s sale. Non-Diluter.

This twin bull came as a surprise and was born outside and he got touched by frost. Unfortunately, his brother got the worst of it and froze his ears bad enough that we decided not to put him in the sale. We split the calves up and this guy ended up on a first calver that didn’t do as good of a job raising him as his own mother would have and he has been playing catch up since weaning. That said, the genetics that this bull carries are some of our best and this bulls daughters will end up being some of your most productive cows Non-Diluter.

Kurt came to us “in dam” with a heifer we purchased from Skywest Farms. She is developing into a heck of a young cow that is moderate framed, stout, yet feminine in her design with a tight, square udder with small, well placed teats. We had some pretty high hopes for this cow, and so far, she has delivered. Here is a low birth weight, highly maternal, Full Fleckvieh bull for your consideration. Diluter test pending.

This Outlook son’s mother is an embryo daughter off the Miss Moses 03X cow that we have built our cowherd around. 03H was offered as a choice lot at the Border City female sale as a yearling. Hoegl Farms selected her full sister and 03H came back home. She has developed into a nice young cow with a beautiful udder and has a bright future ahead of her. This moderate framed bull has a nice square hip to him. His mother is a smaller framed cow that has an excellent udder with lots of milk. Jeremiah is one of the most impressive bulls I’ve seen. Defender is a calving ease prospect that we are quite high on. Low birthweight, good length, nice muscle shape and a nice clean head. His dam was my pick of the heifer calves that year and she did not disappoint with her first calf. We only got a couple Can Am calves last year but have a few more this year and will definitely be using him heavier this spring. Here’s a bull that will catch your attention. Monumental is wide topped and has as much spring of rib and shape as you will find. As good as Monumental is in the flesh, he might be even better on paper. If you follow EPDs, you will want to take note here. Top 3% of the breed for calving ease and top 20% for yearling weight along with strong maternal numbers as well. He had an 84 lb. birth weight and an impressive Sept. 1 weight of 954 pounds. Monumental is a maternal brother to Kuntz Sheriff 8A and I would expect him to pass on similar calving ease with a bit more performance. Homo Polled and Non-Diluter.

This might be our top prospect to bring some “Law and Order” to you heifer pen. He comes with a +16.7 calving ease EPD which ranks him in the top 1% of the breed. This makes sense when you combine Law (who has calves extremely easy on heifers) with Epic and none other than Sheriff’s mother. Law and Order is a sound made bull that is refined in his bone yet has a deep, thick quarter with spring of rib and style. Spooner Street is one of the popular Enticer sons in the pen. He’s long, deep, thick and has a little more extension and character to his front end. He has that cherry red color and loads of hair. He traces back to the old 110P cow who was a “no miss” herd bull producer for us for many years. Homo Polled and Non-Diluter.

Enticer sires calves that are heavy haired with extra length of body and lots of growth. 31K’s mother is an absolute tank of a cow who was Brayden’s 4-H heifer a few years back. His grandmother is the Lilli 5Y donor cow that has done an exceptional job

Denim Danger is the top performing bull in the pen. At weaning time he was the third heaviest bull and had the heaviest yearling weight, all while being one of the youngest bulls in the pen. He gets that weight from the extra length of body he possesses along with his width and stout build. He wasn’t the most photogenic bull on picture day and needs to be seen in person to truely appreciate. A full sister is one of my favourite 2 year olds this year. We would like to welcome you to the 24th Annual Kuntz/McIntosh/SAJ Bull Sale. We are excited to showcase this group of bulls. We feel this is a very complete group of Bulls that we have brought to town, with a good mix of calving ease, highly maternal and power bulls to add value to your operation. Leading off the reds will be the pen of three that took home the Supreme Champion Pen of Bulls title at CWA in December. Our pen of three black bulls made lots of friends at Edam Fall Fair 2022 and represented the black side of our bulls well. We truly enjoy raising our family in this industry and spending time at cattle shows and sales watching the excitement in the Simmental breed. We seem to get busier every year though, with things around the farm and activities with family and perhaps don’t get a chance to show our appreciation and visit with all our customers the way we would like to. So a special thanks to everyone that has supported us at the past bull and female sales over the years. Without all of you we wouldn’t be able to enjoy this great industry! McIntosh bulls have been developed on a TMR ration this year. Our ration consists of brown oat silage, chopped hay, brown oats and a BULLSEYE Feed bull supplement. All bulls have been double vaccinated with Fusogard to help in the prevention of foot rot. Also bulls have been double vaccinated with Bovi-Shield Gold One Shot and Ultrabac 7/Somubac. Bulls have been treated with Ivermectin early fall, then they had a dose of Clean Up 2 and also received Safeguard crumbles late in the fall. We will work with you to get the bulls delivered as close to you as possible and in a time frame that works for both parties. Here’s a very eye appealing Stratton son out of the herdbull producer McIntosh Nashville. He carries added eye appeal with his extra rib shape and herdbull presence through that front third. This is Nashville’s fifth son to sell through this ring and all have been well accepted by our customer’s thus far and we expect Kraken to follow in all his brother’s footsteps! This is our first set of bulls from the popular LFE Stratton sire and we are very pleased with how they have developed thus far. Homo Polled.

This Stratton calf is one we really like a lot. Dark, dark red colour, deep as you can make one and as sound as can be. This one has a real herdbull presence about him and he’s easy to find in the pen. Cow power runs deep in this guys pedigree with the Amber family backing the top side of his pedigree and our own R Plus donor 8297U close on the bottom side. 8297U was one of our original herd building donor cows and left a lot of quality daughters in our herd and also put a lot of quality sons through this sale. Greenstreet is a super dark red Stratton flushmate. He is a well balanced type of guy, he’s deep bodied with a real nice soft look to him. Not the biggest framed bull in the pen, but he makes up for that with his thickness and stoutness of bone. We predict Greenstreet will sire very desireable replacement females. Homo Polled.

Fanboy is the eldest of this years flushmate full sib feature bulls. These bulls are very consistent in type and have a fantastic momma cow backing them. Super hair coats on these siblings that are nice and dark red. Fanboy sports a perfect blaze as well. We chose to add Sassy 16C to our donor program simply because of the high quality female offspring she produces. And at the end of the day, every great herd bull should come from a great cow! Turn It Up is the longest bodied of these full sib brothers, but certainly doesnt give up any softness of look or depth of rib. All of our Stratton sons are sporting great testicular develpment and Turn It Up is no different in that department. It’s hard to come up with unique things to say about each of these bulls because there really isn’t much separating them. They are a very consistent group of bulls for sure. Homo Polled.

Pure power here in this bull. Ram Jam was a member of the Agribition Supreme Pen 2022. He was selected as one of the pen bulls because of his scale pushing power combined with a super showy up headed look that gets him noticed every time. He’s out of a very nice female we purchased from Prairie Wind Farms through the Shades sale a few years back. She’s a reliable producer with a beauty udder and always raises calves with a little extra eye appeal. Homo Polled.

MCINTOSH Krush 41K

Here is this year’s heavyweight of the red division. He weaned off big with an actual weight of 995 on September 1. He hasn’t slowed down since either, posting an adjusted yearling weight of 1490. The LFE Game Face calves have performed very well here, they are power oriented cattle that have a great look to boot. Super dark red and out of two black parents, makes for an interesting pedigree in a red hided package. Krush carries strong growth EPD’s as well as a Maternal Weaning Weight EPD in the top 10%. Check out the birth weight on this Daredevil son. Beauty 78lbs out of a WS Epic first calver. His dam is a lovely daughter of the Mary Jane cow family and we’ve sold full sisters to her in past Border City and Friday Night Lights sales where they were well accepted. Mary Jane 5H is the type of cow a person wants their herd bulls to come out of. The ability to have a moderate birthweight calf and then have that calf grow to an above average weaning weight is something we strive for. Outright is a growthy bull with some stretch to him that will sire some excellent feeder cattle. He has great colour and has some chrome on his face which only adds to his value. This mid-February born son of CRS Mr. Absolute gets noticed consistently by people touring the bull pen this year. He is out of a good Ankonian Red Caesar daughter that has put many bulls through the bull sale over the years. She is a great uddered cow with ideal teat size and is out of the Pocahontas cow that started it all for us many years ago. Homo Polled.

Freestyle and Smoke Show came to us via an embryo purchase from Kade Earley in Ontario. We were out that way and toured a couple summers ago and decided after seeing the STF Trendy cow that it would be a no brainer to snag some Cobra embryos off that great looking donor. We purchased 5 embryos from Kade and ended up with 5 live calves! These brothers are identical twins and are the result of one of those embryos splitting shortly after being implanted in our recip cow. When you get in the pen and see these two, they are identical no question about it and really it’s just the coolest thing! These two are easy to like in so many ways, good scrotal, good haired, great cow family backing them, and they carry the signature Cobra look and style that we love. Homo Polled.

This red hided Ironclad son is one we really like. He carries very solid performance numbers along with a very solid set of EPD’s across the board. This guy exhibits some stretch and has a lot of grow in him. Super duper hairy, nice dark red colour. I know I start to sound like a broken record. But it is what it is! This guy’s young Copperhead dam has performed very well on her first two calves and we are excited for her future in our herd. Homo Polled.

Stallion is his name and he really is a stud! Such a cool look to this bull, he’s proud fronted and is an attention grabber in the pen. Stallion was the bald faced bull in our Edam Pen of Three last fall. His dam is a super showy looking, deep ribbed, great uddered female that always gets pointed out to visitors to the farm. She is sired by Profit and out of a Broker dam. The Profit/Broker cross is known for producing some impeccable females and 19E fits that mold to a tee. Stallion should produce high quality, marketable offspring whether they are bulls or heifers. Homo Polled and Hetero Black.

This solid black Game Face son is one that we have always liked since last year at this time. He has a great look and presence about him that can be admired. His grand dam was a full sibling to our donor cow McIntosh Lexi, full sibling to our favourite black herd sire McIntosh Ironclad, also a full sibling to Mader Walk This Way. You can bet on the fact that this bull has top notch cows backing him. He is a good numbered bull posting very strong growth EPD’s and his docility EPD is off the charts. Afterparty is a nice bald faced 3/4 blood bull out of Dimension. Our group of Dimension sons last year were a real solid set that were very well accepted come bull sale time. Dimension adds performance and eye appeal to his offspring. Afterparty is out of our WHL Pride 1680D cow that has produced really well here for us. She has put daughters through the Border City Sale in past years and her first daughter by Cobra is an absolute herd favourite here. This is the first bull Pride has ever had for us and he doesn’t dissapoint. If you like to raise beautiful replacement females then Afterparty may be your bull! Homo Polled and Homo Black.

Fortress is a real scale crusher that fits the bill perfectly if you want to wean heavy calves in the fall. He posts a 98.8WW EPD which is in the top 1% for the breed. Fortress was a member of our Edam pen of three bulls that were well accepted there at the show placing 3rd overall out of over 20 pens. His mother 11B is a past donor cow for us and is a cow we really admire, with great udder and foot quality. She is the type of cow that we like to have around here. Homo Polled and Homo Black.

Candyman is a standout son of Loaded Up out of a great Cobra daughter. This bull is absolutely an outlier in terms of center mass and overall thickness. He carries a time tested pedigree that reads quality through and through, bulls or females, this guys offspring will perform. His Cobra dam is one of the good ones, great udder quality and soundness, and she passes on her outstanding rib shape and stoutness to all her offspring. Hetero Polled and Homo Black.

This very cool looking dude is Seth’s bull and is the first calf out of his Swayze X Cobra show heifer. Any cow that raises a calf like this one first try is a cow to be excited about. Kickstart was born unassisted with a very acceptable 80lb birth weight. He is a good numbered bull with added strength in the calving ease, birth weight, and maternal calving ease categories. He has also grown very nicely and has performed very well from weaning to yearling. If your looking for a total package type of bull that will add some chrome then Kickstart would be a good choice. Fortify is a son of the popular Agribition Champ True North and comes from a power Cobra cow who is no stranger to raising the good ones. She consistently produces offspring with added style and performance. A maternal sibling to Fortify was a past Friday Night Lights feature that sold to Lee Shologan and Rusylvia Cattle Co. in the fall of 2020. This Ironclad son was a member of our Edam pen of three bulls this past fall. He was the low birthweight one of that group with a very nice 78lb birthweight. 3K has a really great set of numbers and has performed well since weaning. It’s not always easy to find a bull that combines a CE epd ranking in the top 15% with a YW epd that ranks in the top 10%. Another low birthweight Ironclad son here with with a double digit calving ease EPD. 12K is pretty hard to fault, he’s a sound moving bull, he’s clean in his lines, he has a solid set of numbers and has performed well overall. His sire Ironclad is one of our walking herdsires here at McIntosh Livestock and he carries a great pedigree combined with a great look which he passes on to his progeny. The HPR William “Willow” bulls were well received at the sale last year, and I’ve brought another solid set of half brothers this year. The 90J is a bull that stands out. He had the heaviest actual weaning weight at 1000 lbs. on Sept. 11. His Diesel sired dam has a strong udder and goes back to my good 1U cow that is still producing at 15 years old. 90J will impress with his sound feet, dark markings and good temperament. His dam is a solid cow that has raised a good one. This is a bull that I would consider using myself if I didn’t have such a heavy influence of the “Diesel” and “Willow” blood lines. A high percentage Fleck bull here coming from a full Fleck dam. More moderate than my other Fullblood bulls this year but his low birthweight reflects that. Probably the largest framed bull and the darkest red fullblood bull I have this year. 94K is a bull that will add some stretch and size to his calves but still with a nice birthweight. He ranks in the top 2% of the breed for milk so expect his daughters to be milky females. Long Range has a nice young “Crush” dam behind him that did well as a second calves with him. Non-dilutor.

A different top side pedigree for me is this polled Shamrock son. He stepped on the scale at weaning and weighed 1000 lbs. off his Diesel dam. If you have a problem with your bull, please notify us immediately. Under no circumstances will the seller be liable for more than the purchase price of the animal.

EXCEPTION GUARANTEE...

In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION...

Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Simmental Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

PEDIGREE ESTIMATES...

Pedigree Estimates (PE) are created on the projected mating of the animal’s sire and dam based on averages of the two, creating estimated values that do not hold the same accuracy of actual EPDs issued from the association and should be used as such.

LIABILITIES...

All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties and any legal action that may in exceptional cases be taken must be between the buyer and the seller. T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. assumes no responsibility for any credit extended by the seller to the buyer. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfillment of all guarantees and representations made hereunder.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS...

The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.

PHONE, MAIL, WIRE BIDS...

Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone, mail or wire their bids and instructions to the sale managers, auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.

DELIVERY...

We will assist in arranging transportation wherever possible. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. $100 rebate on bulls taken home sale day. Bulls must be insured by buyer.

INSURANCE...

Will be available sale day. We strongly recommend that insurance is purchased for full value.

ERRORS...

All announcements at sale time, written or oral, supercede any written material in the catalogue.
