Welcome to the Annual Lone Pine and Airriess Invitational Polled Hereford sale on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Lone Pine Headquarters, Vibank, Saskatchewan. Over the past years, the folks from Airriess Acres and the O’Connor family have hosted the premiere sale for the Saskatchewan Sweep Steaks Weekend. Along with guest consignors, this event offers a diverse lineup both genetically and phenotypically…ideal for all types of breeding programs and all budgets.
These fine folks have been huge supporters of youth and the junior movement in the breed...therefore, you are assured that there are exciting show prospects for juniors of any age. The bred division offers front pasture opportunities, and the demand is strong with a short supply. Many carry early services with planned mating’s. The guest consignors for the most part have small herds… this is their production sale … and they offer their best. The select bull calf offering is exciting and well worth the trip. Included in the stout lineup are an intriguing set of embryos for those looking to the future.
We are all aware of the strength of the cattle market driven by supply and demand. The future for the breed and the industry has never looked brighter as stockmen throughout North America try to replenish their shrinking herds. For those who are superstitious, Friday the 13th is an opportunity day and the start of a weekend filled with fellowship, friends, and great cattle.
Feel free to visit any of these leading operations to preview their offering or give them a call.
Plan to be with us in person, on the telephone or online. Do not hesitate to contact myself or any of the T Bar Team…we would be happy to assist you with your purchases in a confidential and professional manner.
It’s with great pleasure that I invite you to the fall sale this year. I’m generally a positive person who always is looking for the silver lining…but this year the clouds seem to be lined with gold! The cattle market in North America is phenomenal. Enthusiasm is extremely high. In my opinion it never been a better time to invest in new genetics. You can retire the old girls and the old genetics and be compensated for them at all-time highs.
Speaking about investing in new genetics there is no better opportunity for high value investments than at this sale. It is a partnership of great friends who offer unique genetic packages. We all utilize a combination of great investments in top cut herd bulls and the most popular AI sires to mate with balanced maternal herds where economic success is the priority. Glitz, Empower, Command, Horizon and Evolve are just a sample of some of the breeds most popular bulls that are represented this year.
All the partners in the sale are very important to us but I need to single out Trevor, Sara and their family. Airries Acres has become a stable force in the Western Canadian Hereford seed stock business. Their attention to good cattle and good genetics has resulted in high demand for cattle from their breeding program. And the results are in. They sold the top selling heifer calf at 2022 Agribition last year. One of their young cows won champion over all breeds at the Regional 4-H show this spring.
Finally I’d like to give you bit of insight into Lone Pine Cattle Services consignment. Our number are a little smaller this year due to a variety of reasons but the quality and predictability is higher than ever before. Lexie has had an excellent year showing Jazzy 61K. She has become very popular with visitors. We argued about offering her and ultimately choose to keep the heifer so she can be Lexie’s continuation female in 4-H and Bonanza 24. But we did compromise and are offering her full sister as Lot 1. On top of that we are offering 10 other females that all boast great cow families. And we keep them a little more fresh here. When you buy one with the XLP on the hip won’t be buying one that is overcooked.
Please feel free to come for a visit on the afternoon of the 12th to preview the cattle and to visit us in person or on DLMS on the 13th.
Sincerely,

This is a full sister to XLP 5F JAZZY ET 61K, the heifer Lexie has been having so much success within the show ring. With that said, it makes sense why 16L looks as gorgeous as she does. We have really admired this calf since she hit the ground, and in the last few months she has really turned it on. We are looking forward to seeing how she progresses as a yearling.

The second Empower that we are offering. She is pretty through the front end, and posses the overall power of her sire. We have sold many of her sisters through this sale and like them she is just as special. Her mother has done nothing but impress. She is a well-made cow with a perfect udder that will last forever.

10th generation of the Sybil cow family. This cow family has proven to be great producers with femininity and strong udders. Sybil 37L, like her sister that we sold last year as lot 1 and sold to River Valley Polled Herefords, is picture perfect. She is absolutely gorgeous through the front end, full of width in the middle, and overall, a powerful calf. Her mother has really done her best work here. We are really impressed how this cow matured from a show calf into a producer. The sire RSK Command has added some style here as well. One of my favourite things we have been seeing consistently from our Command calves in their attractive profile and correct structure. Born unassisted, up and sucking within 20 minutes of birth, and she was 76lbs. WOW, don’t miss out on this great opportunity.

This is a fault free heifer out of a 2yr old that is very attractive. Being a member of the Blanche cow family, one of the oldest cow families in the Country, lets me know that she is full of potential. This calf is sired by Command. The reason we used both the maternal brothers Command and Empower is because we became very big fans of the kind of cattle their dam was producing. Her calves had become sale toppers and show ring winners. It’s not often that a cow can produce in demand cattle of both sexes but she does. This calf is one of the youngest in the sale but perhaps has the most genetic upside.

What an attractive member of the Mandy family. Clean fronted and long spined. She is the first calf born sired by ANL Bottomline 39J. I expect that she will be a favourite yearling in your herd. This heifer comes from one of our newest but most exciting cow families. Her dam’s sister was sold in this sale to Mount Vern Polled Herefords as a calf. Her mother has always impressed us and we couldn’t be happier. She’s admired for her production in the herd. Now, lets talk her sire Bottomline 39J. We purchased him with Kirby Polled Herefords from ANL as a yearling. He adds new genetics to our herd and provides us with the option to use on both heifers and cows.
We have been extremely excited about his calves. Here’s the first. 117L definitely makes us feel good about our offering for the future. Be sure to keep your eye out for future sons and daughters of Bottomline!

Her name is Fancy for a reason and she pulls that off. This is one heck of a stacked calf! I have loved how much this calf looks like her mother since the time she hit the ground. As a yearling, the cow had impressed many in and out of the ring. And Boy Oh Boy, this calf will do the same. 118B is a female who has walked through the show ring several time, and the winner of a Canadian Hereford Association Mark of Excellence silver medal. Her sire, is no different. Silver medal winner himself and the Agribition Reserve Senior Champion… MHPH Hobbs. In the past we have sold a son of Fancy 118B’s to Bill Potts. He has told us several times how happy and please with how that bull done for him.

This heifer has been great to watch grow. As a calf she was by far one of the most attractive. She is a wide, pretty fronted heifer that you wouldn’t want to miss. She comes from the great Reese family. She exhibits some of their best traits with a splash of colour and pigment. Many people are familiar with her sire who has become a great Hereford breeding instrument.

It was a hard decision to add this heifer to the sale this year. Being a daughter to the maternal sister of the many time champion Action 75Z made it a hard decision. This family has done us well over and over again. Splendour is a great representation of where she comes from and is the next generation of what could be a great breeding line. She exhibits length of body, muscle shape and excellent bone density. When you get behind her and watch her walk, she reminds us of Action. She is sweet tempered, don’t forget to give her a scratch, she loves them.

If you came looking for a good easy to maintain female, well here’s your heifer. She is a deep, easy to keep her conditioning individual. Her sire is one of the best bulls we have produced that breeds awesome cows. 355B produces cows with great milk and calves that grow. He gives them a wide hip, and leaves the calves nicely pigmented. She comes from a strong producing cow family as well. Don’t miss out on the potential of adding a great future cow.

The only Authority heifer we are offering for sale this year. We have had many calves sired by this bull over the last two years, and they have been very consistent in terms of growth and type. They are even tempered, smoothly made, and eye appealing. This heifer is powerful, flawless by design, and great cow quality. Have we mentioned that she is a granddaughter of Canadian National Champion Rocky?! Genetically another great thing about this heifer. You would be pleased with this addition to your herd.

Welcome!
Hard to believe a year has passed and we are gearing up for the fall sales. We believe that all of us consignors have brought forth what we believe shows a good representation of what our herds consist of.
This year we feel we have a very consistent group of bred heifers for sale that we think will do well for anyones herd. As for the heifer calves there are heifers that could be taken on the show road or put out to pasture to work. If a junior is interested in purchasing a heifer calf, we can help them get them ready for Bonanza, just come and find us to discuss.
We look forward to seeing everyone on sale day, please come and join us for lunch. Videos will be posted online beginning of October. Any questions please feel free to contact anyone of us.

Very impressed with the calving ease and growth in his calves. Looking forward to seeing how his females calve out.
Lucious 36L may be the first calf from Agribition’s Reserve Champion Bull, Evolve 112J, to sell in Western Canada. Evolve is proving to be an exciting sire of the future. Her dam, Country 3F, was an absolute must have from Charlton’s when Matthew offered her for sale in 2021. We loved this girl as a show heifer in 2019 and appreciated her even more after she calved. Got to love the body and udder on the maternal side.
Kahlua 3K is a March heifer from one of our foundation cow family, Miss Ultra. Ultra and her genetics have been successful on the road and in the pasture. Kahlua is a full sister to Juniper 3J, our two-year old show cow that had good success on the road this summer. Our Rock females are excellent producers with fantastic udders. Birth

Jupiter 23J, Glamour’s first calf, won all three Jackpot shows entered in the fall of 2021 and have been working for Wilson Ranching.
Kore 23K, purchased by Corp Creek Farm, was 2nd in Agribition, 2nd at Bonanza’23, and Grand Champion Hereford in Lindsay Spring show.
We are excited to display and show a number (3) of her ET calves out of Royal 24E and her natural Evolve calf this fall.

This is my favourite heifer calf born this year, if we didn’t have a maternal sister as a bred heifer she would definitely by staying home. Her dam is a very good Phantom Creek cow, that does a great job every year. This mating to Attention worked so perfectly that we bred her back again this spring.
If you want pounds and carcass merit, this bull will do it. Always has had a gentle disposition, which also breeds true Ranks in the top 1% of the breed for WW and YW, top 4% for TM, top 6% for CWT and the top 8% for REA and Fat
The first few calves sired by Glitz intrigued me. And he was my pick of the Phantom Creek dispersal. When the opportunity came to acquire the bull it was a natural fit for both JHF and XLP to add him as our new senior herdsire.”

As a supporter of the Canadian Junior Hereford Association Lottery program, Instead of offering a competition to earn sale credits we as a sale have decided to match Canadian Junior Hereford Lottery heifer lottery contribution. If a winner of the CJHA Heifer lottery purchases a female at the 2023 Lone Pine/Airriess Acres Invitational Event and chooses to use the lottery contribution for their purchase in this sale we will match the contribution. As an example if the CJHA has awarded you a $250 heifer lottery credit the sale will offer you an additional $250 credit for this sale. OR
If you haven’t been selected in the CJHA Heifer Lottery but have shown an animal that was purchased in the sale in a previous year just send us a photo of that animal at the show prior to October 7 and you will earn a $250 credit in the 2023 sale. OR
If you’re a Junior or 4-H member who’s purchasing from the sale for the first time send us a photo before August 2024 of the animal you’ve purchased. The photo can be either at a show or in the pasture and you will earn a credit in the 2024 sale for $250. Juniors are limited to one credit per person.
