We started in this business in the mid 1980’s with commercial cows and learned the importance of the convenience traits and the untrumpable force of the mama cow. We have built our program on cow families by obtaining genetics (live and frozen) from some of the top programs in the business. We have carried on that theme by using bulls from prominent cow families and retaining only the best females from these matings. The cornerstones of our program are the Barbara’s, Emblynette’s and Blackcap Mays with a few other supporting families. The Barbara family is an originating family and has stood the test of time with females in production representing 5 generations of North Perth Angus breeding. The Emblynette and Blackcap May families have been added from the Schaff Angus Valley program, mainly through embryo transfer and they too have become an influential part of our herd. We don’t believe there is any one tool that can be used exclusively for selection, so we use a combination of phenotype, performance, pedigree, epd, ultrasound and most recently genomic data to form our selection decisions. The decision to invite all of you to our farm and offer you the very best of what we have been building for the past 17 years was not an easy one. We have invested a lot of resources into building the North Perth Angus program, not the least of which is time. Time is a precious resource and one of which we don’t seem to have enough of at this stage in our lives. All of us work at time consuming off-farm jobs and with the addition of the next generations of the Weber family, we have decided to take a step back and take a breather. This is not a dispersal of any sort, we plan to be in the cow business for generations to come. The strategy in selecting the cattle for the sale was simple - keep our older cows, a full sister, a daughter or embryos and offer the very best of what we have produced. Our entire herd will be on display sale weekend for you to see that we are truly offering some of very best females we have ever produced. We hope you will see a theme in the offering of quality and balance. We invite you to tour the cattle ahead of sale day and if you have any questions, please call, text or email us. Thank you for your interest in the sale and thank you for your support.

from the desk at t bar... Welcome to the North Perth Inaugural Production sale held at their beautiful farm just outside Wingham, Ontario. The Weber Family have done a lot of planning leading up to this exciting event and we hope you can join us and appraise this well thought out herd of Angus cattle. As you flip through this catalogue you will quickly learn the emphasis on cow families at North Perth. With many tracing back to foundation cows from the famed SAV herd in North Dakota. Please pay close attention to the many half and three-quarter sisters selling. The Lot 1 female that kicks off the event is truly unique, followed by the many descendants of the famous Emblynette family. The paperwork and EPD profiles in these cattle are simply exceptional and bred to some of the most sought after sires available. For those who show, please pay close attention to the halter broke heifer calves selling, they have the right cut and look to be contenders. The bred heifers are outstanding as well being lead off by two exceptional daughters off S A V Resource. With the Autumn Angus Classic sale on Saturday, please make plans to view these cattle at anytime at the farm. This will be a video sale and the cattle will be displayed right behind where the sale will be conducted. Hanover to Wingham is only a 25 minute drive, so plan to take in both events. Any questions regarding the cattle, please don’t hesitate to call any of us at T Bar C or the Weber Family. See you at North Perth,

The one that got away...Our plan when selecting cattle for this sale was to reduce our herd size, but keep our main cows or a daughter off them. That was before the sale managers walked through the cattle and found 210. No doubt she is among the top females in sale and in our entire herd. She has yet to have a female calf and for that reason, she was in the keeper pen. Nonetheless, our sales managers convinced us to make her a sale feature. She has produced top herd sires for Renwick’s of Belmore and Joe Simmons of Wroxeter and looks to have another one this year at her side. Prototypically, she is a model cow and when you look at the pedigree you will seem some of the best maternal sires in the breed. Her grand dam, “7260” has become a cornerstone at North Perth and this female is among the best of the eleven direct daughters in our herd. “7260” has 40 daughters in production in the US and among those is the dam of S A V International 2020 and a full sister to this Lot 1 female. Here is an opportunity to invest in value added genetics for your program with a pedigree that you could write a novel on. Don’t wait for another one like this to come along, because it’s not likely to happen. She records a nursing ratio of 103 on three calves with an average birth weight of 80 pounds. AI bred to Coleman Charlo 0256 on March 30. Pasture exposed to North Perth Resource 617 from May 21 to June 17, 2017.

We went to see Regard in person at SAV before we chose 3.9 56 94 23 51 to use him in our program. What we were hoping for in his calves, was similar thickness to his sire, with a tick more femininity and lots of visual muscle. I think that describes this calf very well. With Regard passing away so young, there won’t be many of his daughters offered for sale, and even fewer out of a full sister to the dam of International. EPDs

We love our final product females and this one will get a lot of love too. Nice made, long necked with great hair, this heifer would make a great project for a junior or for someone to add to their show string. Maybe the best part about her is that she is backed by the great Emblynette family. 303 is among, what I consider to be, the most elite performance females in our herd. The only individuals who might beat her out in this category is her dam and down the road, maybe her daughters. The Emblynette family has relatively quickly become a cornerstone at North Perth and this female along with her dam are the best of the best. Her dam is my pick of our ten direct daughters of S A V Emblynette 7260. Her first calf was the high selling female at the 2015 Bluewater Angus sale going to Neilcairn at Drumbo and her 2016 heifer is a sale feature and quite easily one of the top two females in our yearling pen. We are retaining the dam of this cow along with her 2017 born heifer calf. She records a weaning ratio of 105 on two calves. 300 is a magnificent breeding piece. She is only young, but she has proven to stamp her progeny with a nearly identical and perfect pattern. She’s had 3 heifer calves for us - the first was our second top selling heifer calf in the 2015 Bluewater Sale going to Meadow Bridge Angus - her 2nd calf is the fanciest Resource daughter in sale offering (Lot 15) - and her 2017 daughter will be retained. She is a direct daughter of the 232 Barbara donor and sired by S A V 004 Density, who needs no introduction. Many consider this cow to be the top young cow in our herd, including Dad. She also has the distinction of being the very first embryo calf produced and born at North Perth. She sells bred to S A V Sensation. She records a nursing ratio of 100 on 2 calves with an average birth weight of 70 pounds. AI bred to S A V Sensation 5615 on June 5, 2017. Pasture exposed to North Perth International 600 from May 21 to July 8, 2017.

Here is a potential sale topper. A direct daughter of the Blackcap May super sire, S A V Resource and backed by the maternal legend, Density and from the top producing Barbara family. Charlo represents a little different direction for our program. I was at the Coleman sale last fall and saw many Charlo daughters in production and a few full sisters. When I returned from the sale, I immediately starting sourcing semen on him. Our goal for Charlo was to moderate some of our larger cows, while adding thickness and mass while also moderating birth weight and calving ease.
