3rd Annual Online Offering

To say that 2023 has been like a roller-coaster ride would be an understatement. We started off with a great calving season and a pretty mild winter. Spring brought on a very strong bull market but through April and May we had less than ¼ inch of precipitation. Wild fires were only 30km away and things were dry. Switch to June and the faucet was turned on and not just a trickle but full blast. We have seen over 32 inches of rainfall since then causing lots of problems, 9 inches one night resulting in major flooding and many unnecessary consequences. Here it is September and we are still trying to get our first cut of hay finished. Some fields are so soft we can’t get to. We had lots of traffic through the yard this summer with Bonanza in the Maritimes. Thank you to all those who took the time to visit. Bonanza was a great show and we were very pleased to have 18 head that either came from our place or had our genetics in them. Congratulations to all the juniors involved. That brings us to our Online Offering Volume 3. This year we have 5 of our very best Hereford heifer calves and a stacked group of Hereford Bred heifers. These heifer calves are bar none some of the best we have ever offered and there is something for everyone in the yearling pen. We have also opened up our Red Angus herd this year. We have a very deep pen of heifer calves and are excited to offer you choice on those as well as our show heifer. We are also very pleased and excited to welcome Twelve Oaks Land and Cattle Company as a guest this year. They have a couple super live offerings and a future pick you surely don’t want to miss. Cattle prices continue at reach all-time highs as far as price is concerned. It is a great time to purchase breeding stock as prices continue to look very good into the future. With the small herd of reds we have been able to build up over the last few years we are more than blown away by the quality of our heifer calves that we have this calving season. Our farm has been producing a strong line of polled hereford commercial cattle for the past 20+ years, The easydoing, mild nature of the hereford breed has always been a staple for us, which is why we have decided to take the next step and focus on producing top quality animals with good functionality, either in the show ring or the pasture. We have been using many top end sires from the U.S. and Canada in our AI and ET programs to help strengthen all aspects of our herd.

Pick of the Calf Crop

This is a group of calves we are excited to see come along. We have been working on our AI program as well as a select few donor cows and are pleased to offer a chance for someone to come in and have their pick of the 2024 Purebred calves at Twelve Oaks. We have used some well-known sires in the industry as well as new herd bulls we have purchased or raised here on the farm and are patiently waiting to see how these calves will do. The sires we have used in this group include Haroldson’s United 33D 36G, Haroldson’s Genesis ET 114J, HL Stimulus 2108 ET, Bar Star Fresh Prince 018 ET, Churchill Prince 2198K ET, Harvie Hacket 19H and Twelve Oaks United ET 2K. Our dams are also selected for traits we desire in our herd; we have been focusing on maternal cows with good udders and feet as well as the ability to raise a strong calf over the summer grazing. TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Angus Association unless otherwise stated. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

PEDIGREE ESTIMATES: Pedigree Estimates (PE) are created on the projected mating of the animal’s sire and dam based on averages of the two, creating estimated values that do not hold the same accuracy of actual EPDs issued from the association and should be used as such.

HEALTH: All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements.

GUARANTEE: Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the Canadian Hereford Association with regard to health, free of all known genetic defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness.

PREGNANCY INFORMATION: All serviceable age females have been pregnancy examined by an accredited veterinarian, giving an estimated length of gestation. This estimated gestation period shall be used only as a guideline to calving and is not a guarantee of actual service.

LIABILITIES: All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co.
