Hello Folks,

On behalf of the Prairie Gelbvieh Alliance group and all consignors, I would like to welcome you to our 10th sale.
It’s hard to believe that over 10 years ago, our group met in the little Chinese Café in Whitewood, SK to bring together our ideas for a sale. We knew we were a group that embraced everything this great breed has to offer, plus the different aspects of hosting a sale for it. This enthusiasm is shown by the history we have made. Our sale started with a bang in Brandon, MB; new sale, new people, and new ideas. It went over well!! As we evolved, we moved to Moose Jaw at Johnstone’s, and then we felt the need for a Saturday sale. That necessitated another evolution. The group met again and decided to try the new technology of a video sale and along with that came the option of where to host it. The Temple Garden Mineral Spa became a logical choice, of course. Why not, the PGA is all about innovating and moving forward! So here we are today, more new ideas, more new friends, new optimism, hosting the breed’s longest running female sale. Hang on, folks, for the next 10 years, as it is going to be a crazy ride! Thanks, Lee

PGA Heifer Lottery
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Prairie Gelbvieh Alliance Sale, the partners have decided to start a heifer lottery in 2010. Individuals that have made purchases in the previous two fall sales will be entered into a lottery. The number of purchases made by an individual will determine the number of entries they will have in the lottery. The winning individual will be awarded $500 to be used towards a purchase of a female in this year’s sale. The lottery will run annually from this point onwards.
This year’s winner is RPS Gelbvieh.

Birth weights are around 75 to 88 lbs, and his claves are a lot alike. 65R, dam of lot 2, is a black cow from Davidsons BLK Eagle that goes back to a 95M cow, with a daughter 46W which sold to Hardy Letain last year. Rig Rocker is a powerful, soggy, deep ribbed herdsire leaving some awesome calves for Bluff Island, Fir River and Maple Grove Gelbvieh. All calves to date are polled, with a large number dark red. We have sample dhim into our purebred herds and used him extensively in our commercial herds with the results being some scale pushers that are highly marketable.
Rig Rocker 79U- Lot 7
Riggy is sired by the outcross sire Legacy and his dam is none other than the great Miss america daughter, Miss Kanada 2K, who has produced numerous keepers across many herds. This bull is just starting to write history for us and it is looking to be an interesting chapter in our herds. Take this opportunity to write your own chapter! Selling are 2 packages of 10 units

Pay attention to this female. Emma 139W is a full sister to the 2009 Agribition Champion Female and RBC Supreme Finalist. 139W patterns much like her sister. Check out the udder development on this donor cow prospect. Flush siblings sold to Maple Grove Gelbvieh, JSJ Gelbvieh, and Edwin & Sandra Lipsett in 2009.
Bred AI to LTC Ridge Star Holman 123H on April 28. Pasture exposed to V&V Western Chronicle 66W from May 16 to July 23. Preg-checked safe to AI service.

This stylish Collateral daughter is as complete in her make-up as her mother is. Smooth polled, red, and clean-fronted, she is a showy maternal female with a stellar pedigree. Her sire, Collateral, is mainstream A.I. genetics and produces some extremely saleable cattle, Sassy Girl is no exception. I purchased her mother from the Prairie Gelbvieh Alliance Sale 2 years ago and I am continually impressed with her development; she has an amazing udder and exceptional milking ability. I am proud to present this calibre of female and would like to thank the sale group for the opportunity to sell in this prestigious sale, the same sale that first got me ‘hooked’ on Gelbvieh.

This phenomenal cow kick-started my Gelbvieh herd and while I never expected her to be such a prolific female, I always knew she would earn her keep. Clean lines with generous muscle expression; she has a powerful angularity that made my decision to flush her very easy! Not to mention that she has raised my most successful show female, AJBG Gabby, now owned by Thackeray Gelbvieh, and a walking herdsire for Maple Grove Gelbvieh, AJBG Supreme. I flushed 40L to a variety of bulls, developed a rich embryo bank, and expect a dozen progeny this winter. In keeping with my dedication to the Prairie Gelbvieh Alliance, the only sale I have sourced my genetics from, I want to offer the best of my herd and a choice lot. Three leading sire groups to choose from, Collateral, Top Grid and JDP Astro, and a dam with a stellar production record, these embryo lots are as exciting as a Christmas Wish book and offer something for everyone.
