RIGHT CROSS RANCH

Box 100, Kisbey, SK S0C 1L0 rightcrossranch@hotmail.com

Welcome to the 14th Annual Right Cross Ranch Bull Sale! What a time to be in the cattle industry; the prices are strong, and the mood is optimistic. Finally!

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the people in our corner. We have so many businesses, employees, neighbors, customers, friends and family that have our backs and help us to push Right Cross Ranch forward. Thank you; we appreciate your support!

As we prepare our 14th catalog, we get the opportunity to sit down with a coffee and reflect. We research each bull, the dams, their brothers and sisters, pedigrees, performance and have a look through pictures taken over the year. After carefully crossing our T’s and dotting our I’s on our 2025 sale offering, we’re PROUD of the progress we’ve made over the years! We’ve always been particular about culling females that draw attention to themselves and man does it show! Our cowherd must work for us! We don’t have the time nor patience to deal with the extra tasks that bad udders, bad feet or bad attitudes bring. I think most operations can agree with that statement. We think having high standards and hard culling on our end will hopefully result in bulls that will head into your program seamlessly, go about their jobs quietly, and take your cowherd forward! We strive to grow these bulls responsibly and work hard to find the right balance between “picture ready” and being sound, functional and athletic breeding machines.

We are always searching for ways to advance our program. Last fall, Brett & Chantel McRae, of McRae Land & Livestock approached us about purchasing their purebred cowherd. Most of their cows are similar genetics and Brett’s management style closely mirrored ours; it seemed like a natural fit. Lots 37 – 43 carry the McRae prefix, are loaded with muscle, natural Angus characteristics, and are a real asset to our sale!

You’ll notice that there are 4 2-year-old bulls that are born a bit sooner than the others. We used these bulls in our own herd last year. They will be tested for Trich and Vibrio tested before the sale. You’ll also notice in this years catalog, more pictures! We know ourselves how hard it is to get off the ranch to tour other people’s cowherds. We’ve made it a priority to provide you with support photos to help you make the most educated decision for your next purchase. Pictures are just pictures, and nothing beats an in-person tour, feel free to stop in anytime! We’d love to introduce you to our family, our ranch, our cowherd, and the sale bulls!

See you down the road,

The Andersons

NOTE:

We plan to freeze brand all of the bulls. If you’d like your bull done, please leave him with us, we’ll get him branded and then delivered to you!

RIGHT CROSS RANCH NUTRITION

Nutrition: Right Cross Ranch grow their bulls on a high roughage total mixed ration. The Right Cross bull ration is based on corn silage, dry cut hay, brown oats, corn distillers and a custom formulated grower supplement specifically designed for Right Cross Ranch.

Ingredients: Corn silage is extremely palatable and a great source of energy for the bulls. The dry cut hay gives an added chewing factor to the ration. Corn distillers is a highly palatable source of “bypass protein” and has energy equivalent to barley grain. The main source of added energy to the bull ration is brown oats, a very safe form of grain energy. The custom formulated supplement is fortified with more than 100% of the bull’s needs for trace minerals and vitamins in addition to balancing the macro minerals such as calcium and phosphorous. Rumensin is added to the Right Cross custom supplement to optimize rumen health and improve feed efficiency.

Management: Right Cross bulls are ranch raised and not pampered by any stretch of the imagination. Jim, Sarah and crew make sure the bulls come from a sound breeding program and then are precisely fed and tightly managed. Be sure to check out this excellent set of ranch raised bulls.

FROM THE DESK AT T BAR C...

Welcome to the 14th Annual Red and Black Bull Sale for Right Cross Ranch on April 1, 2025, at the ranch headquarters, Kisbey, Saskatchewan. For over a decade, the Anderson’s have been supplying bulls and females for their customer base in southeast cow country. While building a functional productive cow herd, they have also raised a wonderful family in a western manner. The 2025 offering is comprised of red and black Angus, both yearlings and age advantaged twos. The yearlings come out of the early calving pasture while the two-year-olds are late born, not old enough for big pasture services as many were born on grass, then run on summer pasture and finally readied for the sale. These rugged two-year-olds will cover a lot of bigger pastures, tougher terrain and add uniformity for your calving cycle. The bulls are supplemented in the fall and winter with a higher forage ration to ensure soundness and fertility. Right Cross does not push their bulls.

The Reds are highlighted by the progeny of Craftsman, uniform in type, plenty of muscle, deep bodied with lots of middle and hair. They are supported by ROD Boomer, RCR Sequoia, and Stock Market. The Black bulls are headlined by the Monarch’s…. you will love their body length, eye appeal and performance… McRae’s, RCR Seneca, Renovation, and Bravo round out the strong herd bull battery. The 2025 lineup is genetically diverse, offering progeny by proven sires and new arrivals. Bulls for all types of programs and budgets…. It’s worth the trip to see these strong group of bulls and their mothers any time prior to the sale or just give Jim or Sara a call to discuss the bulls that will enhance the value of your breeding pastures.

If we, at T Bar C may be of any assistance prior to or sale day, do not hesitate to call any of our team and we will be pleased to assist in a professional and confidential manner.

UDDER OF DAM, RED RCR MISS 150A With hundreds of bulls around this place, sometimes “unplanned pregnancies” happen! Red RCR Sequoia 284J found his way to Miss 150A and you know what, we weren’t even mad! This cross checked all the boxes; a bit of calving ease from the sire’s side and thickness and performance from the dam! Dam raised lot 4’s dam. Brothers have sold to Brian Werstuik and Phantom Creek Livestock and 2 beautiful sisters raise calves in our herd.

Unfortunately, we lost Stock Market last spring just before breeding. This will be the only offering of his sons! Lot 4 is long bodied, out of a great old cow family, and will calve easy.

Lot 5 catches most people’s eyes when they walk through the pen; he’s a tank from front to back! Some of the most popular bulls over at Leeuwenburgh Angus are still sired by Red Topham McLovin 757E. We’ve found him to be very easy calving and yet his calves hit the ground and gain. They don’t have a typical “heifer bull” look. They’re tanky, square, and compete all day long with the “cow bulls” of the pen. Lot 16’s dam has a registration glitch so doesn’t have papers, but a cow that will stay in the purebred herd nonetheless!

We have jokingly named lot 40, “Belly Roll!” He puts it ALL together with the butts, the nuts, and the guts that we all want in our future Angus Herdsire. Lot 40 goes back to the infamous Sandy Bar Ambush 10Y; people drive a lot of miles to get their hands on genetics like his. We’re proud to stand behind lot 40, he’s the stud of studs!

Here’s a cow bull that someone will be happy to nab! One top notch thing about the Renovation offspring is their feet! All 5 of them stand on a foot with tons of heel and toes that head straight down; I’ve admired them since they arrived! Lot 41 will add stretch, lbs, and grow to your calf crop!

CE: *

The world has a funny way of coming full circle. Years ago, we got out bid on the Walkerbrae Warrier 116Z bull. He was an impressive character with some great names behind his name. We’re excited to acquire a daughter of his in Lot 42’s dam. Lot 42 will be a good footed dream, that will let you sleep at night during calving season.
