For those new to the Six Mile program, we take pride in being a family owned and operated cattle ranch that makes its sole living off our hard-working, 600 head cow herd. This ranch and these cows are our life and our livelihood! We certainly appreciate your time given to evaluate this Genetic Focus Female offering. We look forward to visiting with you and earning your business. Honesty and integrity are pillars for our family and our cattle. For those that are past supporters, we say THANK YOU! Our cow herd is “Productive- not Pampered”. The Six Mile momma cow must earn her keep every year to stick around in our herd. The past 5 years of limited moisture conditions and high feed prices have forced an even stricter selection pressure for a fertile, easy keeping, heavy milking mother cow with the ability to survive in our environment. This year’s offering is stacked! It is initiated with four Elite donors that have already proven to be money makers. The bred heifers are the most consistent group that we have assembled with quality through to the last lot. The open heifer calves represent the freshest genetic packages with the quality to succeed in production and in the show ring. I cannot wait to use more Mossy Oak next spring, he just makes good quality stock. The coolest part about him is that his EPD’s got BETTER after a few calf crops! I imagine it gets pretty old buying the “new great breed changer” that is in the top 1% across the board on sale day and by the time it comes around to marketing his first sons, he’s dropped to the 50% percentile on most his traits… Anyway, if you haven’t bought a cane or two of M.Oak, I would highly recommend it. FERTILITY GUARANTEE/RIGHT to FLUSH: All bred females in this sale are guaranteed safe in calf, unless otherwise noted, and have been examined by an accredited veterinarian, Dr. Marshall McDonald of Assiniboia Vet Clinic. Six Mile guarantees the open heifer calves as fertile breeders. If new owner is unsuccessful in establishing pregnancy in their female(s), Six Mile reserves the right to have her examined by a veterinarian and returned to Six Mile where we will attempt to breed female within 60 days. If female will not breed, a credit will be given to buyer or a replacement female of equal or greater value. This breeding guarantee does not apply to females that have been; a) attempted to be used in embryo transfer while attempting to establish or maintain pregnancy b) only Artificially inseminated and never exposed to a bull that has passed a recent BSE c) are too obese or thin for reproduction as determined by a veterinarian d) animals who suffer injury, sickness or disease after sale date e) animals that have to be shown while attempting to establish or maintain pregnancy.
