welcome from welcome from Blairswest Copper Kettle land & cattle cattle co.

On behalf of the Blair family, we would like to formally welcome you to the 4th Annual Blairswest Bull Sale March 13th at the farm. It is something that’s been in the works for many years and this summer when touring through the bull pasture we felt the quality and numbers were there to make the jump to host a live sale. We are a family committed to the cattle industry, even better is building relationships with our customers that last a life time. We feel we have put the work in so when you are shopping for the next herd bull or females your homework is done.

We are very thrilled with the bulls we have on offer and think there is something that suits everybody’s needs from calving ease bulls to power bulls. These bulls are backed by some of the best cow families in the Angus breed. We put our females through a culling process every spring in regards to foot and udder quality, mothering ability and fertility. We feel the beef industry is as strong as it’s ever been, there for us as cattlemen let’s take advantage of it and enjoy every moment.she’s We are super happy to have Copper Kettle Cattle Co as a guest consigner again with a great set of bulls on offer. Allison is a very progressive breeder and always finding new and exciting genetics to push her to the forefront. Allison is not only a guest consigner with us we cherish her friendship to the fullest and helps us with endless amount of things whether it’s parts, to

checking the camera while the crew is gone to hockey games or you name it she’s most-likely done it.

As everybody knows a place can’t be run without great help and we can’t thank our friends, family and neighbours for the endless amount of help throughout the year. This spring we hired Colin as a full-time hand on the farm and he brings great assets to Blairswest and walks into the shop every morning with a huge smile and often brings some snacks that are soon demolished by Scott. Also this fall we welcomed Austin Krieger to the team and he’s been nothing but great for us in helping with getting cattle ready for fall shows or helping get bulls clipped for the sale or assisting in the calving barn and everything and anything in between. As people always say “it takes an army to make things go round” and we truly believe in our crew.

We encourage you to stop by for a visit and take a tour of the bull pen as we are super excited about the our first on farm live bull sale. Feel free to reach out to any of us at Blairswest or the great team at T Bar C with any questions regarding the sale offering and we cannot wait to host you on March 13th. Stay safe and wishing everyone a great calving season.

~The Blair Family

Welcome to the 4th Annual Blairswest Land & Cattle Bull Sale.

I am grateful to the Blair family in welcoming me into this sale last year, and am excited to work with the folks at T Bar C in hosting our first live event. As I sit down to write this welcome, it is -36 and like many producers, are calving out next year’s bull sale candidates! I’m not sure what excites me more; the bulls in this sale or the calf crop hitting the ground! The cattle business may be at an all time high, but we have all had to endure the lows to get to this point. That’s what makes us appreciate the good times even more! Cattle producers are some of the most resilient and creative individuals, that have the ability to persevere even through the most challenging times. There is so much optimism in the livestock industry right now, and I couldn’t be more excited about the Simmental

offering in this sale. Through the use of AI and embryo transfer, I am able to offer bulls that come from some of the most sought after genetics in the Simmental breed. I have utilized sires that have power and performance, structural correctness and fleshing ability. The dams are equally as powerful, but also maternal powerhouses; udder strength, foot quality, temperament, longevity. The combination of these traits are displayed in the bulls on offer; bulls that are going to add some pounds to your calves at weaning and create some really nice females you’ll want to keep as replacements. If you would like to discuss the offering or view the bulls prior to sale day, I would welcome the opportunity to chat with you.

~Allison Porter

Outstanding and exciting!

March 13th will be a day of opportunity as the Blair Family, Blairswest Land and Cattle host their first Annual Bull Sale on the farm, Drake, Saskatchewan. Together with Allison Porter, Copper Kettle Cattle Co., they present a powerful lineup of superior seedstock… Black and Red Angus and Black and Red Simmental. When we think of Blairswest, we think of the last few years in the commercial barn at Canadian Western Agribition… and their dominance in the commercial pen show with their “cookie-cutter” winning pens...calves and breds with hair, volume and uniformity. This explains the quality and uniformity you will find as you tour the powerful lineup of bulls. The purebred herd which they have developed is amazing through embryo transplant on some of the great cows in the breed. Blairswest is the home of the “super cow” Bar-E-L Erica 74A… a donor female who has rewritten the records for production, predictability and fertility. Amazing … yes to date she has produced two hundred and fifty-two recorded progeny. In this feature event in the Angus breed, she has six sons and six grandsons to select from and you’ll enjoy the Erica advantage though her predictable genetics.

In this great lineup, you will have an opportunity to acquire whether it be black or red herd builders that will increase the value of your stockers in the fall and your replacements in the pasture. Sons of great donors, members of the winning fall show season, power bulls and those with calving ease advantage, muscle, hair and temperament, the offering has many possibilities for ranchers and breeders alike. The Simmental section, which Allison presents is loaded with performance, muscle and hair. Her offering is the result of using the strongest, most predictable genetics and enhancing her growing program through embryo transplant. You will be impressed as you tour the Simmentals, both red and black.

Feel free to stop at the farms anytime prior the sale and preview the bulls…. see some of the mothers or just give these folks a call to discuss bulls that will enhance the quality of your herd.

If we, at T Bar C may be of any assistance prior to or sale day, do not hesitate to call any of our team and we will be pleased to assist in a professional and confidential manner.

• 32M travels around the pen with such style and presence while being level-topped, square hipped and stepping down on a solid foot, which I think is a huge bonus for this red deal. We think this bull is going to do very big things for the industry and would like to be apart of “High Resolution” going forward. Call for more info!!

• The Erica x Charlo combination has been the most consistent mating around the ranch - then you add Coleman Glacier to the fold which introduces SAV Renown and Coleman Donna 439.

• Glacier Ice is one that walks around the pen with such style and presence. A high volume, deep middled bull that we think very highly of and was a crowd favourite at Canadian Western Agribition in our yard’s pen.

NO DOUBT

• In 2023 while I was in Denver, I came across multiple calves sired by Sterling Pacific and they were very impressive - soon after we flushed Erica 74A that way, which resulted in this Pacific.

• One that gives you an impressive look from the side profile, is super strong-topped and deep-sided, while having some crest and that Angus skull.

• A Bull that attracts the human eye in person, plus he reads super well on paper, being in the top 10% WW & top 15% in YW. 74A on the bottom and injecting Isabel Y69 on the top is something that is exciting.

• With minimal semen in Canada on Sterling Pacific, I think it is a great time to jump on board.

Blairswest Jesse James 31M

• The only son of SAV Jesse James this year, but we believe 31M is of high quality.

• Smaller-headed, soft-haired, big-topped, and an ample amount of bone on him.

• Being backed by the great Erica 74A, he needs no explanation.

• A full sibling was purchased by the great people at Bar-H Land & Cattle and Kolby Heaven from Opportunity Knocks 4.0 for $25,000. If you sit and chat with either of them, they talk very highly of her and are excited to get her into production.

After raising a bull calf last year that sold through this sale to Twin Creek Stock Farm, and now this Betts bull calf this year, it is my intention to put her into the donor program in 2025. 248M was a member of the 2024 fall show string and made many friends throughout the barn. He will make friends on sale day as well!

241M comes to you with one of the most sought-after pedigrees. SVS Rancher 42H is one of the most popular red bulls in Canada with incredible cow power. Combine that with RF Sheila 023H, a no miss kind of cow that is exceptional in terms of depth of body and shear power. Sheila 023H is well balanced, has an awesome udder and good footed. 241M combines the most desirable traits from both Rancher and Sheila; he is overwhelming in terms of stoutness, bold in his rib shape, big hipped and puts it all together in an attractive package. 241M is an ET calf, out of a package of embryos I purchased from Wallgren Farms. He is a full sib to Double RN’s heifer that sold for $70,000 in Friday Night Lights, and a maternal sib to WF Capital 164L, the $240,000 high selling bull to Double Bar D Farms. 241M was early maturing, is easy doing, and has an exceptional growth curve that is sure to add pounds to your calves at weaning.

Copper Kettle Bankroll

2412M is an ET calf out of a package of embryos I purchased from Double Bar D Farms, who had purchased W/C Bankroll 811D, the high selling bull from Werning Cattle Company. Bankroll 811D is known for the consistency he transmits into his calves. He sires stout hipped, big topped cattle with real world performance in an athletic package. 2412M is exactly that. He is long-spined, neck extension, big hipped, and good footed. 2412’s dam, STF Onyx 451W is overwhelming in terms of shear cow power with a beautiful udder. She is a two-time NAILE champion, with an impressive record number of progeny registered both off her and her dam. Combining Bankroll and Onyx, the result is a calving ease bull that could add extra frame, length and muscle expression.

Copper Kettle Samuel 243M

243M’s dam was purchased out of Double Bar D’s Sharing the Herd sale. She is a bold sprung Man O’ War daughter with an excellent disposition. Samuel has a disposition just like his mama! He is smooth made, balanced in his design, square hipped and combines style with performance. A maternal sib sold in last year’s sale to Northern Lights Livestock.

Copper Kettle Countertime 2411M

2411’s dam was purchased out of the R+ dispersal and goes back to the well known R Plus 5015C bull. Mated to KCC1 Countertime 872H, a bull whose sons are consistent in their kind for performance, muscle and look, the result is 2411M. A bull that is hairy, good footed and gives you that look, just like his sire. He can be used on both heifers and cows and might even add a little chrome!
