to the sale welcome

As I write this we are continuing to see a very good cattle market that should last until the cow herds in North America rebuild. We are seeing no signs of this happening as our producers age and many are seeing this as a good time to exit the industry. We should see the cattle markets stay strong in the near future.

I have personally seen the bulls in this sale and feel the offering is once again very strong with performance bulls and calving ease. Many of the bulls are pigmented as an additional bonus. The baldie heifers in the sale have proven to be ideal beef cows and have been extremely popular. This year’s offering may be the strongest yet.

The breeders in this sale are very approachable and would love to help you with your selection of your next herd bull. Feel free to contact any of us with your questions.

Lunch will be available prior to the sale. We hope you can attend personally, but for your convenience, there will also be online bidding through DLMS. Lois McRae will be available on sale day to assist with any livestock insurance needs.

We hope to see you at our sale.

Welcome to the 9th Annual Prime Plus Bull Sale on April 9, 2025, at the Stride Exhibition Grounds, Neepawa, Manitoba. Prime Plus features an offering of bulls from some of the finest Polled Hereford and Angus breeding operations in the province. Over the past 8 years, these leading breeders have supplied quality seedstock to the livestock industry. In addition to the bulls, one of the features each year is the offering of Hereford influence heifers... high quality commercial replacements and a valuable commodity in todays high flying market.

The lineup of bulls is the finest to date... bulls with performance, thickness, lots of top and muscle. In addition, they offer breed identity, plenty of testicle, ruggedness and hair, something we all needed this past winter. Over the past few years, it appears that breed competitors are searching for identity with a white or blaze face and with it comes the niceties that are not registered on paper but seen in the field.

Plan to be with us on April 9th for Prime Plus 2025 and enhance your program with some new Hereford and Angus blood... you will be glad you did. Feel free to call or visit any of these breed leaders and preview the offering.

If we at T Bar C, may be of any assistance prior to or sale day, do not hesitate to call any of our team and we will be pleased to assist in a professional and confidential manner.

DTHF MEMPIS

Our performance bull in this offering. He will have an adjusted yearling weight of well over 1400 lbs. He is thick, stout, huge testicled, and pigmented. This is the kind of a bull l am always looking for. His mother is a beautiful cow with an exceptional udder and raised one of my top two-year-olds that we are calving out this year.

Homo Polled.

A bull that I own with Martin Chobitar. The Funks at Acorn Ridge bred this bull. When I got the chance to lease Martin’s cows, this bull’s mother was one of my favorite cows. She has a beautiful udder, moderate framed.

Hetero Polled, free of all genetic defects.

This is a two-year-old heifer’s first calf. She did a great job and has a near perfect udder. This calf is really quiet and has been a pet around here. A definite heifer bull candidate and you won’t be giving up any performance on his calves. Being a Big Country son, he will be different than most Canadian pedigrees.

Homo Polled, free of all genetic defects.

We try and use a new AI bull every year and we chose Churchill Thunder because of the strength of his mother. He is thick and very good. His mother put my high selling bull in the last year’s sale. She is a very good Homerun daughter. Homo Polled.

Gold Rush son that comes from probably the best cow family and best cow I bought from Doug’s dispersal. There’s no question, I’m hard on cows.
