GOVERNOR’S UPDATE

FROM RACHEL ISELIN Welcome to March Madness!

!

With DCON just barely over a month away, we are nearing the very end of our Key Club year. Although that is a sad thought for those of us who are seniors, I could not be more excited that are will be able to celebrate a new record of 18,835 TexasOklahoma Key Club members! This is more than 300 people above our District goals and there is still a month left for that number to rise! You have all been doing such AMAZING work in your homes and I'm blessed to have been able to serve over 18,800 of you this year.

!

As our year comes to an end, here are some important reminders:

!

DCON's early registration deadline is NEXT Friday, March 25th. PLEASE have your clubs register through our DISTRICT website and to check out the Convention Bulletin for more information. The larger our convention, the more fun you will be guaranteed to have! Hotel rooms are also filling up quick, so make sure to get all your DCON plans in order for next month. • ICON registration information will be up soon! Please make sure to read over the information carefully and to consider joining us in Atlanta this year. The to attend convention AND come along on our district tour is amazingly low compared to past years. So, this is THE year to experience Key Club Internationally and I highly encourage you to begin planning to attend! • Kiwanis One Day is April 2nd! What a great opportunity for your club to complete my Governor's Project this year by holding a Joint Meeting with the K-Family in your area and holding a Service Project together! For Service Project ideas, you can contact our District Editor or your LTG for ideas! I'm so glad that I was able to spend this year of service with you all! Let's finish out strong!

SECRETARY UPDATE FROM LILY NGUYEN

I hope you all enjoyed your Spring Break! The rest of the staff and I had a great time meeting your new LTG elects last month and training them for the upcoming Key Club year. I know they're going to be fantastic.

!

Once your club elects their new officers, don't forget to update your Club Officer Contact Information (COCI) on the District website. That way, your new LTGs can immediately get into contact with you after they're inducted at DCON. If you do not have you log in for the District website, please email adminsitrator@tokeyclub.com with your club name so that your password can be reset. Remember, proof of COCI must be included in club monthly reports to receive credit.

!

As the end of the year approaches, you should be working with your club president to fill out the 2015-2016 Annual Achievement Report which can

SIGN UP FOR THE…

CLUB SECRETARY REMIND101 TEXT “@tosecr” to 81010

be found on the Key Club International website under Contests and Awards. This form is the sole basis of the Distinguished Club award and should be submitted at DCON registration. Your past monthly reports will be a great resource to refer to while you're filling out this form, so make sure to relay those to your club president.

!

Additionally, the Tom Duncan Outstanding Secretary award is available for those of you who went above and beyond this year. I highly encourage that you and your club enter both of these contests as it is a great way to visually see how far you've come as a club and servant leader.

!

Also don't forget that April 2nd is Kiwanis One Day. Fortunately, this month's Task of the Month coincides with that, so be sure to check that out on the District website and share it with your clubs as well. I can't wait to read about all the joint service projects your clubs host with their local Kiwanis clubs in next month's monthly reports!

!

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, I'm only an email away. It's been a pleasure serving you this year. See you all at DCON!
