~ “Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement and success have no meaning” - Benjamin Franklin ~ Hey T-O Board!

!

While in Texarkana, I got to meet with the Chairwoman for the Disaster Relief Backpack project and she surprised me by donating 250 unfilled Disaster Relief Backpacks to us. Now, I have 254 backpacks sitting in the garage at my dad's office and no current plan of how to use them. So, the Governor's Project committee and I will be working to decide how to best put those backpacks to use. One of the biggest parts of my project is to organize interclubs with your Key Clubs and your Kiwanis Clubs. To best way to show our district who Kiwanians are is to allow them to show their passion for service. I've supported this project since the beginning of my campaign for Governor and I plan on continuing to support the Disaster Relief Backpacks project for the remainder of my term. If any of your clubs do choose to partake in the project, please make sure to let me know and to take pictures so that I can recognize them in a special way. Convention was definitely a reminder that was an amazing organization, Kiwanis, backing us and supporting all things that we do. So, make sure to thank a Kiwanian every chance you get and aid them in their goal to change the world one child, one community at a time.

SECRETARY UPDATE FROM CRYSTAL LOH Hello District Board!

!

I am so glad that we all got to get to know each other more during the Summer Board Meeting. It's great to grow closer to you all and I enjoy seeing the amazing things we have been doing for our Mighty T-O District.

!

Monthly Reporting Feedback: I will continue to try my best to distribute feedbacks for reports to all secretaries, presidents, and faculty advisors by the 20th of each month. However, I have been and will be out of the country for the majority of the month of August. Because of this, I will be sending out August AND September Feedbacks by September 20. I greatly apologize for any inconveniences this may create. If you have any questions about this situation, please feel free to contact me!

!

District Roster: Each time any update is made on the District Roster, it is sent out through email to everyone that is on the roster. Please review the document each time an updated one is emailed to you. It may seem pointless to do this, however, we are all extremely busy people and it is likely that you may not remember to let me know that an aspect of your contact information has been changed. A frequently updated roster is vital to the success of our district!

!

Top 25 Clubs (First Quarter): I am sure you have all evaluated the list of the Top 25 Clubs for the First Quarter. If you or any clubs have questions regarding the list or how to work their way up to the list, please direct them to me or Rachel! I previously asked for any questions or concerns to be directed to Rachel due to the fact that I did not know if I would have access to wifi. I have been able to access wifi in a few of the several hotels I have stayed in during my trip around Taiwan, however, it is difficult to respond to emails and texts in a timely matter because of the time difference between here and America.

EDITOR UPDATE FROM MATTHEW RILEY

LT. G AUGUST ARTICLE ASSIGNMENT

!

DISTRICT BOARD REMIND 101 TEXT “@1516DBOARD” to 81010 HEY GUYS!

!

07

I hope you all enjoyed your summer because it’s practically over! The Tex-O-Key was released a few days ago and it is time to publicize it! The last Tex-O-Key had about 570 reads and a total read time of 1.4 days. That’s awesome! But, this time lets strive for 700 reads and a total read time of 1.8 days. I feel that if we all publicize a little more than we did last time this will be an easy to achieve goal! I hope you all enjoy this last week of summer (if you have it) and prepare yourselves for the school year! Yours in Service, Matthew Riley
