SECRETARY UPDATE FROM LILY NGUYEN Hey T-O Board!

I hope you all enjoyed your Spring Break! The rest of the staff and I had a great time meeting your new LTG elects last month and training them for the upcoming Key Club year. I know they're going to be fantastic.

!

Once your clubs elect their new officers, remind them to update their Club Officer Contact Information (COCI) on the District website. That way, when your new LTGs are inducted at DCON, they can immediately get into contact with your clubs. If any of your clubs do not have their log in for the District website, please have them email Walt so that their password can be reset. Remember, proof of COCI must be included in club monthly reports to receive credit.

ASK YOUR CLUBS TO SIGN UP FOR THE…

CLUB SECRETARY REMIND101 TEXT “@tosecr” to 81010

As the end of the year approaches, your clubs should be filling out the 2015-2016 Annual Achievement Report which can be found on the Key Club International website under Contests and Awards. This form is the sole basis of the Distinguished Club award and should be submitted at DCON registration.

!

Additionally, the Tom Duncan Outstanding Secretary award is available for club secretaries who went above and beyond this year. I highly encourage that your clubs enter both of these contests as it is a great way for them to visually see how far they've come as clubs and servant leaders.

!

Also don't forget that April 2nd is Kiwanis One Day. Fortunately, this month's Task of the Month coincides with that, so be sure to check that out on the District website and share it with your clubs as well. I can't wait to read about all the joint service projects your clubs host with their local Kiwanis clubs in next month's monthly reports!

TREASURER’S UPDATE FROM EMILY ZHAO Hey Fam!

!

If you don’t know already, we have achieved our membership goal of 18,500 members by DCON! This is amazing and could not have been done without you. Of course, DCON is fast approaching, I hope you are all getting those suspended clubs unsuspended ASAP so they can attend our awesome convention.

! ! ! ! !! !! !! !! !!

Membership: Even though we have already achieve our membership goal, there’s no stopping us! The TO Membership Committee has created a presentation for clubs to retain membership in the middle of the year. Please share it with your clubs, you can access it here: http://tokeyclub.com/membership-goalretention/

!

Suspended Clubs: Again, all unpaid clubs are suspended! That means they will not receive all of their Key Club benefits. Suspended clubs cannot attend DCON, apply for Key Club scholarships, and run for District office. If your club is having trouble with the dues process, please don’t hesitate to contact me! We want all of our clubs to have the opportunity to attend DCON.

Questions: As always, please let me know if you ever have any question, comments, or concerns! I would love to help you out in any way that I can. Best of luck in school!

Here are the suggested article prompts for the month of March: 1. Why would you recommend that someone attend international convention? If you have previously attended, how was your experience? 2. Are you planning on joining Circle-K (or Kiwanis) after you graduate high school? If so, why? 3. What are some fun places to visit, or fun things to do, while at District Convention? What would you recommend Key Clubbers do with their free time when at District Convention? think! See you then!

MARCH. SUBMISSIONS DUE APRIL. 5TH

Hey T-O Board!

!

I hope you guys are as excited for DCON as I am! With DCON rapidly approaching, we need to be finishing last minute prep, rehearsing our forum presentations, and promoting attendance! Last year’s DCON was great, but with you guys, I’m sure this DCON has the potential of being even greater and bigger! I have also pushed back the release date for the project booklet. I didn’t get as many submissions as I wanted so I’m finding some online. Expect to get that this week! Until then, I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your time before we meet again, and getting ready for DCON! It is a lot closer than you think! See you then!

CL UPDATE

FROM MEGAN REYNOSA Greetings DBoard Agents,

DCON is 31 days away! DCON is getting closer and closer and I cannot contain my excitement! DCON is a great way to meet and interact with other members, obtain information, and have fun! As a board, we all be working behind the scenes and help making DCON amazing. I want to let all of you know that WE, the Texas-Oklahoma Board, are the reason why DCON will be amazing. It can only be amazing if we all put on our best effort and work hard. Most of us will not get much sleep, but the attendees will dream of what will be going on the next day.

!

How To Prepare For DCON: - Study your scripts! - This is extremely important as we want to sound genuine, NOT robotic when speaking to our attendees. - I will be sending these out within the next two weeks, so be prepared! - Know your forum information! - All forum presenters, please practice your forum and assure that everything looks good. - The more you practice, the more the slides will become like second nature. - Work with your DCON committees to become more organized! - As you all know, I emailed you the non-DCON committees who they will be working with at DCON. - WA - If you are helping welcoming activity, please have meetings to assure that you know that you’ll be doing and what to expect! - C&A - If you are helping with contest and awards, please have meetings to assure that you know how checking in works, what to expect, and what you’ll be doing. - Live up the last weeks of your term! - As many of us are graduating, we often forget to cherish the moment we have with each other and the people around us. Please utilize this time to not only bond your clubs, but to work with them and help others! - All of us will be retired at DCON and it will be emotional, so try to make the best of out of the last couple of weeks! - Early Registration Is ALMOST OVER! - Please tell your clubs to register now! - Early Registration is $120 - Cost per person (four people in one room) - approx. $250 per person - Regular Registration will be $150 - Cost per person (four people in one room) approx. $280 per person - Let them know that this a great offer to take and they will get better seating at DCON!
