disorders (like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s) focused on figuring out what happens in the neurons (brain cells). Brain research is replete with molecular and system-based studies, with neurons as the centerpiece. Now, data from next-generation sequencing technology has shed light on a group of cells, often overlooked in research, which may hold the key to fighting neurodegenerative disorders.
