A New Waterfront Home Perfectly Designed for A Young Family One of the advantages of designing beautiful home interiors is getting to know our clients and their families. We learn their likes, dislikes, lifestyle and their family dynamics. It’s actually the first step in the creative process – understanding the expectations and needs of the family’s living space. Page 2 Design recently completed a new waterfront home in Vero Beach for a young family with two small children. The challenge was to design a stunning home, using only maintenance-free materials. From floor coverings to window treatments, the materials had to be kidfriendly and nearly impossible to destroy!
All fabrics that we specified, including furniture, pillows and window treatments are indoor/outdoor fabrics. Aqua and turquoise fabrics with the occasional splash of coral and red are perfectly suited for the homeowners’ youthful personality. The sturdy stone floors are non-porous and non-skid, keeping them safe for little feet while also ensuring ease of cleaning. From the living room, kitchen and master bath is a gorgeous view of the new pool and outdoor kitchen, with exterior accessibility from each room. The outdoor kitchen and bar are tucked beneath a charming gazebo with the waterway view just beyond it. We enjoyed working with Coast Mark Construction and Jeff Ray of d’Architecture. The collaboration with Page 2 Design was a success by all measurements. We designed and built a gorgeous home with all of the clients’ requested appointments, and all within budget. It is the ideal home for this young family.

Q4 Color Trends Shades of gray are one of the hottest neutrals in today’s décor. It sets the perfect backdrop and it’s an ideal accessory color to complement bright fabrics like aqua, coral and turquoise that harkens back to the 1960’s. Fashion designers even give a nod to this versatile color.

Kitchen Story Before you Begin a Kitchen Remodeling Project You’ve decided to remodel your kitchen after spending months pulling design pictures that you like, so where do you begin? Not knowing where to start stumps many homeowners, so they naturally consider appliances first or they start at a kitchen cabinet shop because they believe more cabinets will do the trick. Once you’ve given yourself permission to embrace a kitchen remodel project, do yourself a favor and walk first through the following steps.

Step 1: What do you need? This is all about considering how you use your kitchen and finding a layout that fits your household’s lifestyle. Consider your priorities like how many people will gather in the kitchen and how much cooking will you or someone else do? Should you enlarge your existing footprint or simply create a smarter working space?
Step 2: Plan ahead Those of us in the business know this step as the “scope of work” and “preliminary budget.” Scope and budget are intertwined and both may be subject to change, especially as you become more educated and able to reconcile what you want with what you can afford. As a homeowner, you’re not expected to walk into this knowing what everything should cost. But it’s a very good reason to hire a design professional to help you navigate this stage wisely and efficiently.
contractors and architects and manage the process from design concept to installation. Most are also astute to how to marry your expectations and lifestyle with your budget reality.
Step 3: Find the professionals you need
Page Franzel, owner of Page 2 Design and Private Stock, adds additional advice: “Kitchens don’t have to be wall-to-wall cabinets. It’s a waste of money and space, and it sacrifices much-needed countertop space and prep areas,” she said. “In the end, you will save money by having your new kitchen professionally designed and you’ll save yourself unnecessary frustration.”
Unless you plan to build your own cabinets, install your own electrical and plumbing, or pull your own permits, turn to qualified and experienced professionals. Good interior design teams have more than great design ideas to offer – they understand how to collaborate with
The kitchen is the heart of the home. Take the time to have it professionally designed and installed so your lifestyle expectations and budget requirements are met. For a personal consultation, please contact Page Franzel at 772.492.9220. elements

Page 2 Design was thrilled to win “Best of Show” and “Best Tall Tree” at the 2014 Riverside Theatre’s Festival of Trees. Our “Storybook Forest” featured multiple flocked trees adorned with Beatrix Potter miniature books and forest animals from the Bristle Woodland and Bottlebrush collections. Two life-size dolls surrounded by woodland animals nestled in the snow, a child’s antique chair, and a grape vine sled carrying Christmas books created the sweet theme of children reading holiday stories to all the animals of the forest, including deer, raccoons, squirrels, fox babies, rabbits and owls. We have participated in the theatre’s community event since 2010. A love of the holidays, interior design, and giving back to our community that has been so good to many deserving nonprofit organizations make this holiday event particularly special for Page Franzel and the Page 2 Design team.
