of his design philosophy is his membership in the Institute of Classical Architecture and Classical America, an organization dedicated to the classical tradition in architecture and the allied arts in the United States. But it really goes deeper than that, long before his professional career began. Harry is native to South Carolina’s Low Country where extant today are a number of the most splendid examples of Southern Classical domestic architecture. “I must have been an architect in a past life,” he jokingly says in reference to the length of time he has been practicing but alluding to his childhood fascination with nearby antebellum mansions. It was his early exposure to the grand style and reasoned order of these distinguished plantation homes that imbued Harry with an intuitive classical approach to architectural design. “It’s truly second nature,” he modestly says.
