We Love Our Geraniums! Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you know by now that Rock City Gardens proudly grows the most gorgeous geraniums in the area. We have a greenhouse dedicated to growing these beauties from little seedlings to robust blooms. People drive from miles around to take advantage of our abundant and healthy varieties. And lucky for you, we also offer our geraniums at the best price in town: 3 for $10. Geraniums make wonderful accents to other foliage and are extremely versatile since they thrive as well in a container as they do when planted directly into the ground. Geraniums of all colors are stunning in outdoor flowerbeds as a brilliant pop of color. Think of them as accessories to the rest of your landscape design. They are perfectly beautiful this month, so visit Rock City soon and make your selections while supplies last.

Caring for Your Geraniums • Let the soil dry completely before watering. • Fertilize once a week with watersoluble plant food or a slow-release granular. • Remove dead blooms and yellowed leaves frequently. • If we continue to experience cool humid nights, the use of a fungicide may be required to control botrytis. • Geraniums perform best in full sun (at least four hours per day). However, Rock City has some varieties that do well in shady locations.

How Does Your Garden Grow? While Floridians are enjoying the cooler winter temperatures, plants need particular attention this time of year. Protect your plants from frost when the mercury dips and keep in mind: plants that perform better during winter months include petunia, pansy, verbena, dianthus, strawflower, and lobelia.
