Missoulians may not immediately recognize the name of the Lloyd Twite Family Partnership, but their work on the Linda Vista development has become a local landmark. Spanning hundreds of acres in lower Miller Creek, this southwestern neighborhood is home to numerous families.

From the air, the Linda Vista neighborhood is intended to resemble a family tree. Generations of names branch into streets and cul-de-sacs, bearing the first names of Twite family members.
This naming tradition goes back to the 1950s when Jack Twite first began the development. His son, Lloyd, continues the sentimental practice as he further develops the area after starting the Lloyd Twite Family Partnership in 1963.
The first street in the subdivision was named after Lloyd’s mother, Helena (pronounced He-lee-na). Soon, sibling names were added in the forms of Eldora Lane, Darrell Lane, Raymond Court, Lloyd Court, and little sister Marilyn Park. As the development grows, streets continue to be named after relatives in the Twite family.
During construction on the Linda Vista development, the Twite family put a priority on setting aside space for public parks. These open spaces provide playgrounds for area children and families while helping to maintain a sense of community in the Linda Vista neighborhood.
