Youth Empowerment Program How to be ready for the future

November 11 – 17, 2017 Kingdom of Bahrain


Description and objectives The global economy is in the midst of a series of demographic and economic shifts, leading to what has been called the “Human Age.” In the Human Age, technological transformations have rendered many formerly scarce resources abundant, while the key constraints on economic and business development have become the skills, knowledge, and talent embodied in individual workers. Economic success and failure will increasingly be determined by the strategic acquisition and management, by businesses and individuals, of economically-relevant skills.. The main objective of the Global Youth Empowerment Certificate program is to provide participants with tools that will enable them to excel and lead the future. The program is designed for young graduates, young entrepreneurs, young managers and those seeking self empowerment and self discovery. Young graduates face today new challenges before entering the corporate world and even within large scale organizations. This program aims to equip them with realistic understanding of these challenges and to explore the future to prepare our today’s youth to be tomorrow’s leaders. The program consists of five modules including attending the 3rd Global Pioneerism, Innovation and Excellence Conference with more than 200 delegates from different parts of the world.


Program components Module 1 : Exploring for the Future The main focus of this module is to discuss various issues affecting the youth today and the challenges facing them. Topics include employment, global markets, self empowerment, etc.

Module 2 : Cultural diversity and the corporate world: doing business with Arabia

The objective of this module is to gain an understanding of cultural diversity issues in the workplace and the impact of a multicultural society on organizations and individuals within the organizations. A focus will be given to working in the Middle East.

Module 3 : Authenticity and Innovation Participants will take an active part in the Third Global Pioneerism, Innovation and Excellence Conference which will be a life time opportunity to meet and network with leaders from more than 25 countries Module 4 : Social Entrepreneurship In this module, participants will gain knowledge about social entrepreneurs and how they are creating solutions to address societal problems, learn how to develop creative solutions and empower to see social entrepreneurship as a force for social change


Program Design & Instructional Methodologies The program will utilize a variety of instructional strategies including lectures, exercises, group discussions, role plays, etc. The program will include  In-classroom learning  Field trips and sight seeing  Small group meetings  Networking  One to one meetings

Assessment and grading   

Participation in the various learning activities Written exam at the end of the program Project/assignment where participants need to give a presentation highlighting one issue from their learning

The Third Global Pioneerism, Innovation and Excellence Conference

Building the Missing Bridge : Authenticity and Innovation The Conference will host more than 200 delegates from more than 25 countries providing participants an excellent opportunity to meet and network with international leaders and pioneers. The Young Entrepreneurship Exhibition Along with the Conference, GPIEC will host an exhibition for young entrepreneurs. The objective is to showcase some of the projects and businesses initiated by young entrepreneurs and to attract potential investment and funding for such projects. Participants in the Excellence and Innovation Certificate program may be given a FREE stand at the exhibition to showcase their businesses or projects.


You will meet people from more than 25 different countries under one roof. Sami Omer Al Hussayn, Saudi Arabia Deputy Governor for SME support at the Small and Meduim Enterprises General Authority ( Monsha’at) in Saudi Arabia. He has set up a model for social entrepreneurship in Saudi Arabia. He is a member of many councils and committees to support young entrepreneurs. Ahmed M. Al Jerwan, United Arab Emirates Former Speaker of the Arab Parliament. He is an engineer and he has used his engineering process mentality along his wide experiences in local, national, regional and international politics. He is an art and antique collector, with deep interest in social entrepreneurship.

Julie Jaye Charles, United Kingdom Julie Jaye Charles is the Chief Executive and founder of Equalities National Council (ENC) of Disabled People and Carers from Black and Minority Ethnic Communities based in the United Kingdom. She is a ministerial advisor and a social entrepreneur.


Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, United Arab Emirates Lt. Gen. Dhahi Khalfan is a visionary leader with strategic leadership competencies. He has lead Dubai Police to achieve several milestones. He founded and headed the Juvenile Welfare Association in Dubai. Larry has been delivering training courses on Risk Management and Safety Solutions, Leadership, Culture Merging courses over the past 20 years. Dr. Abdulla BaOthman, MD, Saudi Arabia Pediatric hematologist/oncologist and assistant professor at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences In Saudi Arabia. He will present his new initiative called the Educational hospital focusing on bringing the classroom to the hospital for his children’ cancer patients.

Professor Anil K. Gupta. Inida Dr. Anil K Gupta is a profess¬¬or at the Centre for Management in Agriculture, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He is also the founder of Honey Bee Network. Professor Gupta is the author of many books latest is in 2016, Grassroots Innovation: Mind on the margin are not marginal minds, Dr Iman Bebars , Egypt A visionary for social entrepreneurship and an advocate for women’s development for more than 30 years. She is VP of Ashoka Global and Regional Director of Ashoka Arab World. She is also the co-founder and current chairperson of the Association for the Development and Enhancement of Women

Engineer Fahad Al Hamzy, Saudi Arabia Founder and CEO of Sky High Factory in Saudi Arabia Engineer Fahad left a senior position in Saudi Aramco to start his own factory in Saudi Arabia for non-woven bags. He is now in the process of launching the same factory in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates.


Professor Zhongxiu Zhao, China Zhongxiu Zhao, Ph.D is Professor and Vice-President of the University of International Business and Economics, China (UIBE) Dr. Zhao completed his Ph.D. in Economics from UIBE specializing in international trade in 2000. Chef Naji Saleh, Saudi Arabia Mr. Naji or Chef Naji as he likes to be called has a very unique Experience to be shared. He had a good future when he was Playing football but he left that for his passion for cooking and Creating recipe. He retired from a senior position to be the head Chef of a new leading restaurant in Saudi Arabia


Dr. Mohsen Al Faham, Egypt Major General Dr. Mohsen Al Faham is a currently a faculty member of the Police Academy in Egypt. He held various management positions in Egypt Police before he retired holding the head of Cairo Airport Intelligence department. He is also the director of a vocational training institute in Egypt. Dr. Ear Johnson, USA President and CEO of International Consultants and Investigations, Inc. (ICI), He leads investigation of international financial fraud, intelligence gathering, counter terrorism, corporate security and investigation of maritime accidents.

Winniefred Selby, Ghana Winnifred Selby is a 21 years old entrepreneur. She is the co-founder of Ghana Bamboo Bikes, and also the president of EPF Educational Empowerment Initiative. She started pretty trading at an early age to supplement her school fees. At age 16, she co-founded Ghana Bamboo Bikes, that provides jobs and skills training for youth in rural Ghana youth.


Saeed Al Qahtani, Saudi Arabia Saeed Al Qahtani is Global Learning & Development Head, Planning and Operations in SABIC. He brings more than 17 years of HR experience. Previous roles he played included, supporting Global Shared Services Organization as the Senior Manager, HRBPs. Christian Jager, Germany Christian Jäger was born in 1956 and lives in Munich, Germany. Over the course of 25 years held various senior leadership positions in leading chemical companies.. Christian is an adjunct lecturer for business communication at the University for Applied Sciences in Munich.. Professor Tobie de Coning, South Africa Chief Director, Strategic Initiatives & Human Resources at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. Tobie de Coning is an academic and senior university manager His academic focus is Systemic Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management and Systems Thinking.


Dr. King Cheek, USA Dr. Cheeck is an author and lifelong educator. He is a professor at New York Institute of Technology in New York teaching courses on American history, civil rights, modernization and civilization

Khalid Al Sofyan, Saudi Arabia Khalid is the General Manager, Corporate Affairs at Saudi Basic Industries Corporation SABIC. He the founder and Secretary General of the Saudi Society for Public Manners/protocol which Is first in the Arab Gulf region.


Registration Fees The total registration fees per participant is US$ 1,500 (one thousand five hundred US Dollars) or AED 5,500. Hotel Accommodation and local transport  

Local transportation from hotel to the training venue will be provided All participants will be booked at 3-4 star hotels in Bahrain on double occupancy basis Name of hotel will be provided later

However for those participants who do not need hotel accommodation or would prefer to make their own arrangements, the fees would be US$ 1200 or AED 4000.00 four thousand only
