總召集人 Painting Competition Coordinator 為向全民推廣氣候變遷與低碳生活的觀念，台灣永續能源研究基金會辦理六屆「氣 候變遷國中小繪畫創作比賽」，希望師生能藉由比賽的參與，提升環境保護的認知，並 鼓勵其起身加入守護地球的行動。本屆主題「決戰 2°C，由我開始」，呼應聯合國巴黎 協定之減碳目標，冀望大眾能瞭解守護地球為你我共同的責任，盡個人之力為我們所生 活的地球貢獻一份心力。 「2016 氣候變遷國中小繪畫創作比賽」收件來自全國 21 個縣市，755 所學校，計

In order to nurture widespread public acceptance of climate change and low carbon lifestyle concepts throughout Taiwan, TAISE is hosting the 6th Annual Climate Change Painting Competition. We hope that fervent participation in the competition will enhance environmental protection awareness and encourage us all to start with ourselves and begin to work to save our planet together. This year’s Competition theme is “Battle for 2°C”. This reflects our acceptance of the carbon emission reduction objectives of the UN Paris Agreement. We aspire to stimulate society to appreciate the need to protect our planet by beginning with ourselves in our daily lives. We all need to give it our best in all our daily living to contribute what we can to saving the planet. The 2016 Climate Change Painting Competition has enjoyed broad public participation with 21 counties and municipal localities represented across Taiwan, including 755 schools and 2,882 students participating. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Prof. Anderson Yang, Associate Professor, Department of Department of Design, National Taiwan Normal University, Long-Rong Wu, The President of Association for Education through Art, Prof. Mun-Lee Lin of the Department of Arts and Design, National Taipei University of Education, Young Ku, Chairman Professor, Chemical Engineering, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and Prof. Yuh-Ming Lee of the Institute of Natural Resource Management, National Taipei University, for all their hard work in serving as Competition Judges. 評審長 Head Judge 從 2,203 件進入決選作品中挑選出全國賽獲勝作品是很令人愉悅的事。看到優 秀的指導老師領導著未來的藝術家辛勞地準備畫作，似乎可以預見繪畫及設計領域 的光明未來。 此次繪畫比賽作品樣式化情形嚴重，指導老師常以套公式的方式來教學生，對 創意發揮會有侷限。此外，部分畫作顯現出學生對科學知識的缺乏，造成創作誤用 或不精準。

而形成優秀作品的必要條件包括明視度高－畫作明暗、色彩對比強烈，以明顯 的兩色彩區塊來引導觀感；賞心悅目的視覺效果─色彩清新、不灰濁，或是有計畫 的使用灰色調，與其他作品造型明顯區隔；畫面言而有序、主題明確。 此外，造成作品失敗的因素，包括加入過多文字、標題，讓繪畫創作變成海報， 無法用畫面自身說話。沒明確主題卻過份努力，以致畫面凌亂，不知所云。

The process of selecting the winners from among 2,203 works nationwide has been a joyful endeavor. It is a delight to witness how so many excellent instructors have guided budding artists to create such outstanding works revealing the future of our painting and design prowess in Taiwan. This year’s Competition works were not as varied as one would have hoped, due in large part to the instructor’s over emphasis on common themes and expressions, limiting the student’s pursuit of their own creative inspiration. Also, some of the works revealed the lack of the students understanding of the relevant scientific knowledge, resulting in works with errant information or inaccuracy. Outstanding works requires satisfying the conditions for highly attractive art through paintings with light and shade, color contrast, with distinct contrasting color blocks to direct one’s perception; pleasing visual effects through fresh colors, not grays, unless with the planned use of gray tones, and other aspects of the works significantly shaped in segments; the painting’s words are orderly and clearly themed. In addition, the factors causing lack of success in the works, include adding too much text, or titles, so the painting becomes a poster, and it can no longer speak on its own. Also, when there is no ascertainable topic, and there was too much effort to clutter the painting, the results were unintelligible.
評審 Judge Board 氣候變遷是個嚴肅重大的全球議題，創作者要如何審慎面對，然後以個人原創的特 質，藉由繪畫表現的方式來呈現，的確是頗大的試煉。 令人欣慰的是，此次參賽者，雖然是國中、小的青少年學生，但大都能夠掌握主題的 內容，畫作中包含了全球暖化，氣候變遷，節能減碳，永續能源以及環境保護等議題。但 在個人創意與原創的呈現則有所差異，而這也是藝術文化深層意涵的可貴性。 畫作由關懷環境出發，主辦單位以活動促進環保思維，來改善態度，意義深遠。評審

先在各縣市進行初選，再將評審委員所選出的作品，進行第二階段的各縣市排名賽，由此 晉級至全國賽。最後第三階段全國決選，由五位評審各自選出 10 幅，進入全國初賽，複賽， 以及最終的前三名決賽。評選委員以客觀，公正，審視所有參賽作品，獲選的佳作，讓我 們看到每一幅畫作皆是作者的真心實意，雖然不一定是具象的表達，但以繪畫抒發，可以

盡情而全力的揮灑，在創意動能的驅策下，精彩畫面就能呈現眼前，引發共鳴。 殷切期盼，藉此畫作，能激起更大的能量，讓我們珍惜生活中的清新芳香，欣悅春去 秋來，永續美好！ Climate change is a critically important global topic, and these artists have expressed their serious concern while revealing their artistic flair and creativity in painting to express these concepts, which is surely no small task at all. I am particularly pleased that among this year’s participating junior high and elementary school students, most correctly perceived the theme and were able to create works about global warming, climate change, energy savings, carbon emission reduction, sustainable energy, and environmental protection topics. While the works reflected varying degrees of creative express and scientific realism, but in the world ideas, an unlimited and unfettered imagination is essential to realizing the value of artistic culture. The judges enjoyed using our objective, fair attitudes to evaluate all the works, and the winning entries certainly reflect a tremendous amount of heartfelt consideration. While not all the works are figurative expressions, they all use painting to express their inspired creations, and the results are indeed quite impressive and resonate artistic success. It is my profound hope that these creations will inspire the public to reflect on all our life experiences to strive to achieve our common goal of a beautiful, sustainable future for all!

評審 Judge Borad 此次擔任評審委員，主要係就環境保護專業協助檢視繪畫創作之科學內涵。歸 納參賽作品之創作題材，其主題大都環繞氣候變遷可能帶來之生態浩劫、或對人類 社會造成之重大衝擊，有極大比例作品是以北極熊失去棲息地、海平面上升淹沒大 樓等方式呈現。然而，就環境保護之科學基礎觀之，部分作品出現錯誤之呈現內容， 例如，連結臭氧層破壞與溫室效應、混雜溫室氣體排放與細懸浮微粒污染議題、地 球溫升至 98°C 等，其傳達之意念有明顯瑕疵。但部分作品中也出現隱喻之表現手

the habitat of the polar bear and the influence rising sea levels. From the basic scientific perspective of environmental protection, some works evinced slight confusion of concepts, for example by correlating ozone depletion with greenhouse gas effects, or greenhouse gas emissions and PM 2.5 pollution, or the global temperature rising to 98°C. Such works expressed some obvious confusion. Other works relied on metaphorical representation, for example with polar bears and the Taiwan brown bear working hand in hand to combat climate change, or polar bears climbing skyscrapers to avoid rising sea levels. While these are not events that will actually take place, they are still reasonable artistic expressions of environmental concern.

Professor Lin Mun-Lee received her doctorate degree in Art Education from Tokyo University, Japan. She is now a professor at the Department of Art and Design at the National Taipei University of Education. Her past positions include Director of the Taipei Fine Arts Museum (1996-2000), Deputy Secretary-General of the National Cultural Association (2000-2003), Chairman of the board of the National Culture and Arts Foundation (2003-2004), and the Deputy Director (2004-2006) and Director (2006-2008) of the National Palace Museum.
可啟發學生探索氣候變遷的核心知識與價值，由正確的環境關懷與理解，結合個人 生命經驗與藝術創作，發揮美術與科學整合的無限可能。 Works from throughout Taiwan revealed the creative expression of our students exploring concern for the environment through the arts in response to the theme of “climate change”. The creative process involving reading and critical thinking, allowed students to consider in depth a personal dialogue with their living environment, to extract precious individual ecological awareness growth experiences. While this was my first time as a Judge at this event, I enjoyed the rich variety of works, and the serious attention of the participants which deeply impressed me. Some of the works are perfect for poster presentation, while others were limited by over participation of the adults supervising their creation, and this tended to restrict the student’s personal creative exploration space. It is hoped that through their participation in the competition, students will be motivated to explore the core awareness and values of climate change, developing strong environmental concern and awareness, and that their personal life experiences will synergize with their artistic creation, to develop the unlimited potential of the arts and sciences working together in harmony.

The wetland migratory birds no longer have a place to land due to the rising sea levels, and temporarily land on the chimneystacks. The doves are carrying carbon footprint promotional brochures, telling us we must carry out carbon reduction efforts, if we are to restore our ecology from the threats and ensure a hopeful future.

Nuclear power plant dangers pose threats to Taiwan; the gas mask on the main character symbolize the severity of air pollution, while the eyes of the main character symbolize seedlings of “hope”, so when mankind’s awareness of environmental protection is awoken, we all have “hope” for the rebirth of our homeland.
