2024 Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Festival Program Guide
On behalf of the Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Society (TCCS), I would like to welcome you to the 2024 Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Festival (TCCF).
Taiwan’s artistic and cultural heritage is highly diverse. TCCS’s primary goals are to facilitate arts connections, contribute to Canada’s cultural landscape, and provide an opportunity to increase the public’s appreciation of Taiwanese art, culture, and traditions as a part of an ethnocultural community.
The 2024 TCCF presents Canadian and Taiwanese artists from different disciplines. The week-long festivities include multi-day outdoor activities, an indoor concert, and a virtual cinema. All outdoor activities, offering two performing stages, arts and crafts workshops, artist exhibitions, and a TCCS Taiwan school, are accessible at Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza between June 29 and July 1. Besides 18 Canadian performing groups, the festival highlights Mad Theatre and Taichung Hoping Elementary School Dance Troupe, Taipei First Girls High School Marching Band, and a Taiwanese dough figurines master, Wu Chun-Yi from Taiwan.
Taiwan Virtual Cinema will showcase Taiwanese short films between July 2 and 5. The “Taiwanese & Canadian Musician Series” concert will occur at Vancouver Playhouse Theatre on July 6, featuring Vancouver Formosan Singers.
Since incepted in 2018, TCCF has received tremendous support from the Government of Canada, the Province of British Columbia, the City of Vancouver, local businesses, media, and many community partners! We want to take this opportunity to thank their contribution and participation in making this event a big success. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Society
Welcome to Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Festival 2024.
Here, we will jointly experience the rich and diverse cultural charm of Taiwan, savor the infinite allure of art, and share our passion and creativity with each other.
Taiwan boasts profound cultural heritage and diverse artistic expressions. From traditional opera and folk dance to contemporary music and visual arts, every corner is imbued with rich history and stories. We will enjoy wonderful performances by artists and musicians from both local and Taiwan, participate in various cultural activities, and through these activities, gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the humanistic landscape of Taiwan.
Art inspires minds, breaks barriers and promotes creativity and cultural diversity. Art leads societal progress and serves as an important link between the past and the future. Through the activities we organize, we hope to ignite more interest in art, cultivate more artistic talents and make a greater contribution to the development of the cultural and artistic communities in both Taiwan and Canada.
I’d like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you, the donors, artists, volunteers and staffs who have worked tirelessly for this event. It is because of your support and involvement that we are able to come this far and continue to make the Taiwanese community shine with pride.
We hope you have a memorable time here, enjoying the art, culture, and the charm of this wonderful land.
