This is the story of Fuffy and his best friends. Fuffy is a little sand castle mold. He was born in England, but one day at the beach of his city he was distracted; he was away at sea and finally he ended up in one of Barcelona’s beaches!
He is purple and the highest part of his head has got a British flag. He has got very big eyes and a little mouth. Fuffy hates people that are bad to others, and he doesn’t like it when they make a sand castle and it melts. He’s really into music, he loves music, all kinds, but he doesn’t like classical music because he thinks that it is boring. He’s very friendly and extroverted, he likes adventures of all kinds, and while he travelled from England to Barcelona, he was not worried at all, instead he was having fun! Fuffy’s best friends are Ducky Floty and Dani. Ducky Floty is a duck float. He lives in a beach in Miami with his best friend Fuffy. He’s five years old. He likes swimming and playing with Fuffy a lot. His favourite foods are ice‐cream and four cheese pizza.
Dani is also Fuffy’s best friend. Dani is a bottle with a message. He is very friendly and he lives in Brazil. He is Japanese. He travels from Brazil to Barcelona’s beach. He is two years old, but he is very intelligent. He is blue and white.

One day, Fuffy and his friends went to Las Vegas. Las Vegas is a city with many casinos, luxury hotels, resorts, spas and cabarets. People spend most of the time in the casino playing. There are a lot of monuments, and the buildings are very, very high. It is the city of light and cars are very expensive.
Every day Fuffy and his friends get up at twelve o’clock. Then they go to an artificial beach and at two o’clock they go to a restaurant and they eat fast food. When they finish they go to sleep in a beach. At six o’clock they go to visit a museum and they see very nice pictures. At eight o’clock they go to a casino, they play poker and they win a lot of money. At two am they go back to the hotel, they have a party and they go to bed.
One night Fuffy and his friends went to the casino and Fuffy lost all his money and he had to bet his house.

He lost the house too. Fuffy and his friends want to go to the hotel, but they haven't got money. They decide to go to the sea to think about their mistakes. Suddenly, a big wave takes them away. They are in the middle of the ocean and they can't see the coast. They are very scared. They start swimming and, after two hours, they arrive to a strange and desert island . There aren't trees or animals .They are so tired that they want to sleep a little bit. When they wake up they are surrounded by a lot of other islands like the one they are on. They find a big hole. Ducky Floty fells into the hole and Fuffy and Dani try to rescue him. They fall into the hole too. They think that the hole is a big cave. The cave starts to move! They realize that they are inside a big whale. They think about how to escape and Dani has a great idea : “Let's make the whale sneeze so we can go out through the breathing hole“. So they start tickling the whale's throat . Finally, the whale sneezes and in few seconds the cave is full of water. They are shoot out very fast through the breathing hole .They fly through the air and land on top of a deck of a cruise ship. They decide to hide in a lifeboat. The next morning, a little girl is playing near the lifeboat and she sees Fuffy's flag. She puts her hand inside the lifeboat and finds the three friends. She thinks they're are toys and she takes them with her.

The girl's name is Mar. She is Catalan and she is 8 years old. She lives in Sant Just but she is doing a cruise along the east coast of the USA with her family because it's summer holidays. Mar loves travelling by ship because she loves the sea and the beaches. She doesn't like bad weather because the ship rocks too much and she hates feeling sick. The girl loves her new toys: Fuffy, Ducky Floty and Dani. They are a little strange but they are funny, too. They also like Mar because she is lovely, friendly and nice with them, and she keeps them clean. But they don't like her older brother, Jordi, because he is mean to them. He is 12 years old and he's very naughty. He always hides Fuffy, Ducky Floty and Dani from Mar because he likes teasing his sister. One day, they arrive in New York and the three friends and the little girl are very happy. They visit the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Times Square, the Empire State Building and many other sights. They also go shopping to Fifth Avenue and eat hot dogs in the street.. New York is an amazing city! But they don't like the stress, the traffic, the pollution, the criminality, and the dirty beaches. On the last weekend, they visit Brooklyn and they go to one of its beaches: Kiddie Beach. Unfortunately, it is crowded and full of rubbish. The water is not blue, it's brownish. They are not happy about it, so they decide to do something to save the beach: organize a sandcastle competition to collect money! They tell the little girl and she participates in the competition with Fuffy. Together, they build an enormous beautiful sandcastle, but the other participants

sandcastles. They can't decide which is the best, so they call the Mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, to help them decide. Michael goes to the beach and he is very shocked to see it's so dirty, so he decides to help them with the competition to collect money. He calls the jury from the TV show America's Got Talent and they vote the best sandcastle. And, finally, the winner is...

When the Jury of America’s got Talent is about to say the name of the winner, Fuffy hears Dani shouting: “Oh no! Look! A big wave is coming !!”. Everybody runs to escape but a huge wave destroys all the sandcastles on the beach. When everybody is saved Mar can’t see Fuffy and she starts looking for him. As she can’t find her favourite toy she asks her brother Jordi where Fuffy is. Then, Ducky Floty decides to tell Mar the truth because the little girl seems to be very sad.
Mar hears a voice: “We aren’t toys. We are alive! And we know where Fuffy is”. The girl is scared at first but then she starts feeling happy because she has got three toys no one else has: three toys which can speak.
“I saw Fuffy landing on those rocks over there” says Ducky Flotty “but a man took him into his big car”. “A car? What was the car like?”- asks Mar. Dani says: “ it was a big yellow and black car”. “A taxi ?!”- says Mar- “ Fuffy is on a taxi!. But There are a lot of taxis in New York. How can we find that taxi? It must be difficult. Did you see anything else?” “Yes! I remember something… There were some numbers and letters on the car: NY 20124”- tells Ducky Floty to his friends.
Mar makes up her mind and tells Jordi and her toys that they are going to go to the taxi station in Times Square. They’ll rent two bikes to go there. When they arrive at the taxi station in Times Square they tell the woman at the office what happened. Mar says the number Ducky Floty saw on the taxi: NY 20124. The woman says that is very strange because all the taxis in Manhattan have just four numbers. “There can’t be a taxi with this number. Are you sure this is the number?”- says the woman at the office. They all look at Ducky Floty. Then, they realize something is going wrong. They feel worried and scared. What are they going to do now? They are tired and they go to a small café to have something to drink and rest. They sit at a table and then they hear some shocking news on TV: “ … now our latest news about the group of illegal taxi drivers who are acting in the area these days. Somebody saw them this morning at Kiddie beach and the police think they are selling the objects they steal all over the world. The police found out that most of the objects are sold in Miami…”
Miami!! “ – Jordi shouts . Mar and the toys look at him . “ Miami is our next stop, Mar. Our cruise is leaving to Miami tomorrow morning”. Mar wonders if they will find Fuffy there… Madre Sacramento school, 1st of ESO
They take the boat to Miami to rescue Fuffy. They arrive very late to Miami and they go a hotel to sleep at night. The next morning, Mar and Jordi go to the shops of the city and ask about Fuffy. Finally, in the last shop they meet Michelle. The girl that bought Fuffy in a market and put it in her bag. Now, they are friends and Michelle invites them to Brazil. Dani is very happy because he lives in Brazil!
They take a plane to Rio de Janeiro. When they arrive, they go to the beach and there they meet Bolinha. She is a yellow and green beautiful ball. She has big blue eyes and a small mouth. Bolinha has got a long ponytail too. She is very nice and invites them to the Carnival.
In the afternoon, they get dressed with funny costumes. Bolinha, Dani, Ducky Floty and Fuffy are flowers, Jordi is a gardener and Mar and Michelle are watering cans. They are very happy and they participate in a costume contest.
They are the winners! And the prize is... Montseny school
…. 2000 $ ! Mar, Jordi and all the toys are very happy because they won the contest. Then, Jordi decides to call their parents to tell them about the prize. When Jordi hangs up, he tells his friends and his sister that they must come back to Miami because their parents are very sad and worried. When Michelle knows that they are coming back to Miami she feels very sad because she will never see her friends again. “ Don’t worry, we’ll visit you one day”- says Mar. “and thank you for taking care of Fuffy” “Can we take Fuffy back to Miami with us?” – asks Mar to Michelle. “Yes, but you must promise to take care of him as I did”- Michelle cries but she is happy at the same time. Dani tells his friends that he wants to stay with Michelle and Bolinha. He has a small house in a rock on a beach in Rio. Then, Michelle gets excited because she is going to have two new toys. Mar, Jordi, Fuffy and Ducky Flotty go to the airport to take a plane to Miami. On the plane they sit next to a girl called Andrea. She is 12 and she is from Sant Just too. She is on holiday with her parents. She asks Mar to play with the toys and they become friends. When they land on Miami’s airport, they take a taxi to go to their parents’ hotel. On the taxi they see a flyer that says: “Spanish Day in MiamiYouth Club”. Mar, Jordi and Andrea are surprised. “ Look! This must be something like our English Day in Sant Just”- says Andrea. “ Let’s participate! – says Jordi- “ I want to go there and help the children who can’t speak Spanish very well”… Madre Sacramento school, 6th grade
When they arrive to the hotel, they explain their parents that there is a Spanish Day in Miami, like the English Day in Sant Just, and they want to participate it. - “Yes, it’s a very good idea!!” – Their mum says. - “ Go to the Youth Club and ask for information about the Spanish Day” – Their dad says. Fuffy, Ducky Flotty, Mar, Jordi and Andrea arrive to the Youth Club by bus. The receptionist explains to them that there is a problem: “ I’m sorry but you can’t participate in the Spanish Day because it’s full. There lots of children” Fuffy, Ducky Flotty, Mar, Jordi and Andrea are very sad when they listened to the problem. They come back to the hotel and they start to play tennis to cheers up. While they are playing tennis, Jordi and Mar’s mum calls them: - “ Mar, Jordi, Andrea, toys!! You have a call!! Quick!! Come here!! All of them go to the bedroom and answer the call. - “ Good Morning, I’m Jack, the receptionist, the organizer of Spanish Day” - “ Oh! What a surprise!! – Jordi says. - “ We need some Language Assistants for the Spanish Day. Do you want to participate as language assistants and help children to practice Spanish?” - “Yeees!!!! It’s an interesting and exciting idea!! See you tomorrow in the Spanish Day” – Jordi exclaims. The Spanish Day arrives… Montserrat school
The following day, early in the morning, they get ready and take the bus to go to the Miami-Youth Club. They are very excited. When they arrive, Jack meets them and gives them instructions and stickers with their names and the words 'LANGUAGE ASSITANT.' Jack tells them that they can't speak English for all the day and they have to help the American children with their Spanish. He sends them to three different groups.
Mar and Fuffy go to a group where the children learn to dance Flamenco music and play the castanets. Jordi and Ducky Flotty go to a group where the children learn how to cook a traditional paella. And Andrea goes to a group where the children are sleeping. They are having a siesta! Well, they are trying, but the Flamenco group is very noisy and it is difficult to fall asleep. After lunch, Mar, Jordi and Andrea meet and go to a new section: Catalan Day in Miami. In this section the children only speak Catalan and do different activities related to Catalan culture. Some children dance sardanes, the typical Catalan dance. Other children make panellets, a typical Catalan autumn cake. And finally, other children make castells, which are human towers. At the end of the festival, they meet the winner of the mascot contest of the Spanish Day in Miami. She is Mae and she wins a free plane ticket to go to the English Day in Sant Just. She can take three friends with her to so she chooses Mar, Jordi and Andrea because they have been very helpful with the American children. Finally, they board the plane to Barcelona...
