SUMMER FUN WITH KIDS

LOVE & RELATIONSHIPS

Are you wondering how to entertain and teach your kids this summer without hurting your budget? The great news is that there are so many free and budget-friendly activities that your whole family can enjoy!

1. Explore our local parks! Tallahassee and its neighboring cities are well known for their diverse offerings. You can enjoy over 700 miles of hiking, biking, equestrian, paddling, and bird-watching trails. There are tons of excursions to keep you and the whole family active, exploring, and learning all about our natural habitat.

2. Did someone say beach day? Pack your swim gear, sunscreen, and picnic basket! In less than an hour, you can enjoy the waves at Wakulla, Carrabelle, or Panacea beach. Whether you want to sunbathe, surf some waves, or catch fish, summers on the beach are a must for Florida residents everywhere.

3. Want to stay in? No problem! Host a family game night or enjoy an outdoor movie to create memories that the kids will remember for a lifetime. There’s something extra special about roasting smores and enjoying a movie under the stars that everyone will love.

4. Take learning beyond the classroom and explore local museums like the Museum of Florida History and the Florida Historic Capitol Museum which offer free admissions to learn all about Florida’s rich history.

5. Get creative with family dinners and host a backyard barbecue. Invite the neighbors and compete in field games like the potato sack race, scavenger hunt, or the infamous egg and spoon race. You’ll be the talk of the town for weeks!
