How do you like to spend your time outside of work? I like to spend my time outside of work either on my hobbies or hanging out with my friends. Do you have any hobbies? We know you are an avid gamer. Tell us more, what is the latest game you are into. What is your favourite game to play? I do a bit of gaming on weekends, the last game I played is called Stray, in which you see the world through the eyes of a cat and interact with the environment in playful ways. Be stealthy, nimble, silly, and sometimes as annoying as possible with the strange inhabitants of this mysterious world. Do you collect anything?
Anas Mansour Graphic Digital Designer, Marketing, Jordan
At the start of my career, I saw everyone picking cool names like “The Frensh Monkey”, “Beeple”, “wlop”, “pigeon666’’ on Artstation and Instagram, so I thought why not to have a cool name as well.
What’s your favourite story to tell about your past? An interesting story would be the meaning behind my nickname. Shinobu is a Japanese name which means “endurance/perseverance/patience”.
Shinobu was my gamer-tag, I just liked the way it sounds to my ears, the meaning behind it and it felt the right one to choose. For the “FX” part; in the creative industry we have Visual effects (VFX), Sound effects (SFX), so I took the “FX” part and merged it at the end, so it becomes “Shinobu-Effects” (ShinobuFX).

Every human being has their own obsession, so it's only a matter of time before you find out what this is. I personally would love to start figurine and Mechanical keyboards collection. What kind of activities drain you?
This is an example ofthe artworks I create
Are you into Social Media? Beside my work as a graphic designer I tend to do digital artworks from time to time. Here are my social media links where I share them. I go by the nickname “ShinobuFX”.

What’s your go-to karaoke song?
I've never visited Dubai before, but I would love to see Al Tamimi office of course :D, Burj Khalifa, Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, The Dubai Mall, Global Village Dubai, Museum of the future.

What are you currently excited about in your job? You graduated with a degree in Literature, what brought you to Design? Though the definition of Literature changed through centuries, it’s still considered as an art form. I simply love art and the creativity process behind it; In literature I use literary devices like metaphors and similes to write a novel, while in design I use shapes and colours to express an idea. Both mediums have their own form of expression, I just happened to end up preferring the one with more visuals. If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be? I would be expert an expert at Medicine; Learning human anatomy would help me at drawing, and 3d sculpting. I don’t need to see doctors whenever I feel sick, I could write my own prescriptions, and if a pandemic ever happens again, God forbid, I would be a valuable asset to my family.
What fictional place would you most like to live in? I would live in a medieval world full of magic and sorcery going on adventures and quests, I would love just to be a mage regardless of the place.
What’s your guilty pleasure? Creating and browsing Memes over the web. What’s your ideal way to spend your weekends? Sleeping, watching anime and movies, playing video games, hanging out with friends, doing digital artworks. Are you reading anything interesting right now?

What would you do if you were gifted a million dollars, no strings attached? I would invest it in couple of projects I have in mind, spend some but not all on expensive things I wanted, and travel around the world. When you visit Dubai next, where would you like us to take you? Any specific place you wish you visit?

Food waste is a huge problem. How big? About 931 million metric tons. That's how much food that researchers with the United Nations estimate was wasted in 2019, according to the Food Waste Index Report 2021 , which surveyed 54 countries, finding that the majority of wasted food (61%) comes from homes while restaurants and other food services produce 26% of wasted food. Grocery stores make up just 13% of food waste.
Next time you are having trouble focusing, you might want to reach for a stick of gum. A 2013 study in the British Journal of Psychology found that those subjects who chewed gum while taking part in a memory challenge were able to stay focused for longer periods of time than those who did not chew gum.
The hottest spot on the planet is in Libya.
The world wastes about 1 billion metric tons of food each year.
Specifically, the hottest spot ever recorded on Earth is El Azizia, in Libya, where a temperature of 136 degrees Fahrenheit was recorded on Sept. 13, 1922. While hotter spots have likely occurred in other parts of the planet at other times, this is the most scorching temperature ever formally recorded by a weather station.

1. We always fantasize about our dreams, assuming they will cost a lot of money; we also think that we will never have enough money to get them. We did not sit and calculate the cost of these dreams. Write down all the possessions and experiences you want and do your homework to find the price of every element. You will be surprised that they cost way less than you think, and you may have them sooner.
4. We believe that the stock market is a scam or we will lose all of our money if we get into it. Our parents or a friend lost some there and are very confident in advising us not to get into the stock market.
2. We underestimate the power of compounded savings. This book’s approach is to take at least 10% of your income and put it into any compounded accounts, you will have a fortune in 10 years, or at least you will retire safely.
3. You can start saving by reducing your expenses, closely examine your spending habits , and eliminate all the unnecessary spending that makes you believe you cannot save money.
5. On the contrary, the stock market will always win if you do not get out of it. If you look at the overall ratio of the prices of the stocks, you will notice that it is constantly increasing. The problem is that people approach the stock market as a “get rich quick” game. You would win if you entered the stock market with a long-term investment or retirement plan mindset.
7. The advice that resonated with me the most is the advice of Warren Buffet when Tony asked him, what advice would you give to your wife if you do not leave her any money? His answer was to put as much money as possible in index funds and leave it there as much as possible. Index funds are the collective stock of the most substantial companies.

6. The power of diversifying your investments, to be safe in the worst season, you have to diversify your investments because every market, at some point, will crash. There are infinite methods and ways to diversify your investments. In this book, Tony has interviewed a lot of selfmade billionaires, and every one of them has his approach. You can choose from the stock market, real estate, annuities, start-up equities, or building a business. In each one of these investments, you can diversify. For example, in the stock market, you can choose between powerful, reputable companies, index funds, small companies, local stock markets, and emerging markets stock markets.
8. I also learned that investing in technology is very profitable as it has been insanely evolving in the last decade and will continue to grow in the next 30 years.

A microwave consumes less energy than an oven
Source: Sustainability/sustainability-reportshttps://www.dewa.gov.ae/en/consumer/resources/why-save-energy/https://www.saveonenergy.com/
Environment aside, why save on energy? The answer is simple: You can save money! Cutting back on the amount of energy you use can reduce your energy bill significantly. With a combination of simple energy changes you could potentially save a lot of money on your energy bills.
There is always room for energy improvements for everyone, no matter who.
• Flat bottom pans for the best contact with the heat, with tight fitting lids to keep the steam contained
• Keep your fridge away from the oven, dishwasher, dryer and direct sunlight to avoid overworking
Sustainability and Conservation Tips –do your part in protecting our natural resources for generations to come. Save electricity and in your daily life by following these tips:
• Allow the food to cool down (minimum of half an hour before placing in your refrigerator)
Lighting Turn off lights in unoccupied areas to save energy and use natural lighting as much as you can in places which are not exposed directly to sunlight during summer
• Use timers or motion- detectors to control the light’s operation, wherever applicable

• To avoid excessive cooling and wasting energy, set the fridge temperature to 4c and keep the freezer temperature - 18calways check the manufacturer recommendation
You have probably heard the hype about going green and saving energy. The green movement seems to have taken over the world, empowering eco-friendly people every day. There are a number of reasons why you should consider cutting back onenergy consumption.
Save Energy by Natalia Ratkevicius
• When purchasing a new water heater, it is advisable to purchase solar water heaters if possible, or electrical water heater with top rating (5 or 4 stars)
• Check your refrigerator/freezer door gasket periodically for signs of deterioration
• Switch off electrical water heaters during summer and water coolers during winter, this can save up to 50% on your heating and cooling consumption
•
• When purchasing a new fridge, consider one with a higher energy efficiency rating (5 or 4 stars) to save the energy
First of all, reducing energy use limits the number of carbon emissions in the environment. Carbon emissions play a significant role in climate change, which is thought to be the cause of powerful natural disasters in recent years. With billions of harmful emissions in the atmosphere, cutting back is always a good thing. In turn, conserving energy produces a higher quality of life. Reduced emissions result in cleaner air quality. In addition, it helps create a healthier planet, or at least helps sustain the resources we already have. Being conservative with energy can ensure that lakes, trees and animals are around for future generations.
• More tips on how to become sustainable in your everyday life will follow in the next issue of Tamimi Gram.

The Seventh Chakra/Crown Chakra. Physical: Migraines and tension headaches. Emotional: overattachment to material items, loneliness, aimlessness, unable or unwilling to see different perspectives. Our journey of self is never ending and finding what truly works for you and supports you both physically and mentally is never a straight path, but once found can be very liberating. Enjoy the journey!
The Art of Physical and Mental Balance - Muay Thai & Chakra Cleansing My introduction to Mauy Thai was back in 1998 when I moved to Bangkok, little did I know when my new school friends took me out that I would be sitting front row of a Mauy Thai fight.
The Fifth Chakra/Throat Chakra. Physical: pain or stiffness in neck or jaw, sore throat. Emotional: fear of speaking out, fear of thinking or acting independently, nervous overtalkativeness.
Luckily, I found someone who, he himself, competed professionally at a young age, and with that I have enjoyed the evolution of becoming more comfortable with the more aggressive side of the sport and I sometimes surprise myself. I guess that is the appeal to me, that I can embrace the artform, whilst deriving the physical benefit. My dream would be to go to Tiger Mauy Thai and do some intense training there. As part of a holistic approach to wellbeing and balancing of life and soul, and in a completely different direction, every night I practise chakra cleansing. Chakra cleansing originated in India, and was introduced to me by my husband, who had been in search for a way to relax and clear his mind at the end of the day. At first, I was sceptical to say the least, however once I tried it and noticed the difference in my sleep after performing the chakra cleansing, I can safely say it works. I would suggest try it for yourself. The cleansing process gives you time to focus on each chakra/area and it helps unblock and rebalance each of these. I find myself by the end circa 10 minutes of the ritual feeling light and ready to sleep. What a great way to end your day.

The First Chakra/Root Chakra. Physical: soreness, stiffness or pain in legs and feet. Emotional: Feeling imbalanced, stuck, sluggish, ungrounded, chaotic, lack of self-esteem.
by Charlaine Aich, Business Development Manager
The Second Chakra/Sacral Chakra. Physical: pain or lack of mobility in hips and/or lower back. Emotional: disconnected emotionally, sexual intimacy issues, lack of creativity and imagination.

The Fourth Chakra/Heart Chakra. Physical: pain or stiffness in neck or jaw, sore throat. Emotional: fear of speaking out, fear of thinking or acting independently, nervous overtalkativeness.
When I was younger, I didn’t have a great experience at school, and my parents put me into Kung Fu classes but in Scotland at that time there were no children’s classes, and thus I found myself in a room full of adults trying to spar with them. As you could imagine I did not enjoy the experience and didn’t return. Though still unsure how I would defend myself if I was ever in another unfortunate position. As my life transitioned to Thailand, not only did I find myself in a far healthier school situation, but I found my new sense of self confidence. So, when Mauy Thai presented itself I, surprising myself, leaned into the sport. Now I should preface this with, I am not by any means an expert, however I enjoy the physical challenge and reassurance through the art Mauy Thai, of self-control, strength, and defense. All lessons that are imperative to being a well-rounded individual. Though in Dubai I found it difficult to find a teacher with the intent to the art and not just the sport.
The Sixth Chakra/Third Eye Chakra. Physical: headaches, tension in forehead and/or brow. Emotional: overactive imagination, lack of motivation and inspiration, lack of purpose and meaning.
The Third Chakra/Solar Plexus Chakra. Physical: pain in abdomen and issues with digestive system. Emotional: feelings of powerlessness and victimization, problems with commitment and goal setting, lack of willpower.

Nigeria THE HEARTBEAT OF AFRICA by Ifeoluwa Lawal Business Development Manager
Put the vertical bands of green, white, and green together, and you have the flag of Nigeria, situated strategically at the heart of the African continent when you look at the map. Dubbed the ‘Giant of Africa, Nigeria is home to over 220 million people. With more than 250 ethnic groups and over 500 indigenous languages, there’s no question about it, Nigeria is huge!
You are probably already imagining a gigantic country full of people and noise. These first impressions don’t do justice to the uniqueness, the beauty of this country, and the resilience of its people. No matter where we find ourselves, we keep the flag flying. A quick example is Tobi Amusan who just broke the world record in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a time of 12.12 seconds. To appreciate this country more, I have compiled 4 interesting things about Nigeria, enjoy!
Jollof rice
# 1 You guessed right, Food! What’s there to tell if I don’t begin we something we find a common interest in…food! Having a taste of Nigerian Jollof rice should be on everyone’s bucket list. It is Nigeria’s number 1 cuisine, served in every Nigerian restaurant anywhere in the world and eaten at least once a week in most homes. It is best served with diced plantain and chicken.
Overall, Nigeria is an amazing place. It’s natural resources, warm people, dynamic culture, food, and art all contribute to its beauty. Should you consider visiting this country I mean…what’s there not to love?
In the southwestern part of Nigeria lies a little spring where warm and cold water flow side by side while still maintaining their thermal properties. Ikogosi as it is called is situated in a dense forest and extends over hilly terrain. It is truly a sight to behold for nature lovers. Many stories have been told about the history of Ikogosi. The most interesting of all is that the warm and cold water were wives of a man who, after a long contest, turned into springs through magical powers. The troublesome wife became the warm water, while the gentle and peace-loving wife became the cold water.

#2 A country buzzing with activity, nature, and places There are tons of great experiences to have in Lagos. From the tranquil Lekki Conservation Centre, you can take an organized tour through the center, where you’ll walk on planks over mangroves, learning about the fauna and flora which are native to the area. One of the things you’ll enjoy seeing in Nigeria is butterflies. At present, there are more than 1000 documented butterfly species in the country, and the number won’t stop there because new butterfly species are still being discovered here.

#3 Home of Afrobeats Music is one of Nigeria’s best-kept traditions. Famous for the origins of Afrobeat, beginning with the great Fela Kuti (revered father of the genre) to new acts like Burnaboy, Davido Wizkid. and Kizz Daniel Afrobeat has taken the entire world by storm, and it arguably remains Nigeria’s biggest export. The famous five-beat pattern rhythm has seen Nigerian artists become sought after for features and collaborations by global acts like Beyonce, Chris Brown etc. #4 Unicorns are us!
The resounding success that jollof rice is has made some other African countries try to create theirs in what looks like a battle over which country’s Jollof tastes better, but it goes without saying that no one does the smokey, spicy, seasoned Jollof better than my people. If you love some adventure and sport, you will find Africa’s first floating basketball court in Nigeria very interesting. Linking from the beachfront and accessible through cruise boats, the NBA has pulled off another novel attraction for fans and tourists in Lagos.
About six years ago, Africa did not have not a single unicorn, but today, the continent accounts for about 7 startups worth over $1 billion many of whom are built and operated by Nigerians. Top of the list are startups such as Andela, Jumia, Flutterwave, Interswitch and Esusu. Regulators are now actively taking part in the next digital wave, thereby opening up more opportunities for entrepreneurs to innovate.
A large group of our colleagues from the Qatar office attended this qualifier, including Frank Lucente (who is Australian) and Neil Morgan (Head of Sports).
The Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, built on the site of a venue with the same name, incorporates symbols of Qatari culture into its spectacular undulating façade. The facilities surrounding the stadium also mirror the country, with sand dune-shaped structures recalling the beautifully wild lands to the west.
The second stadium in our World Cup count down is the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium. The recent Australia v Peru World Cup Qualifier game was played here and the 50,000 capasity will be used at the Cup.

I am sure that Tamimi Gram success will continue in the coming years.
I like reading Tamimi Gram and I believe that we have great professionals in the Marketing team who have made it the best evolution for Tamimi News. From an HR point of view, such a magazine should strengthen the bonds across the company and this is exactly what it is doing, in my opinion.
This new Tamimi newsletter looks excellent! It is fresh, modern, vivid, and addresses work topics and some interesting leisure ones, too. I’ll have a cup of tea and read each page, with pleasure.
