Information Tell us why you think the Haliburton Highlands is a special place. Snowboarding? Swimming? Campfires? An amazing song? The arts? Adventures? The woods? The people? Use your creativity with animation, video, pixilation, claymation, music video or your choice of digital media and tell us the world about Your Haliburton Highlands. Saturday January 25th, 2014. Video fans of all ages will gather in Haliburton, under the stars, in the snow, to see the world premiere of ‘There’s Something in the Water?’. The winning videos from #MyHaliburtonHighlands Film Fest will also be shown on a 40 foot outdoor screen prior to the film.

Deadline for entries is Friday, January 17, 2014. Entries must include completed entry form and a copy of the video either as a DVD, Vimeo link, or youtube link.

There is no entry fee. Filmmakers can submit as many films as they wish, in as many categories as are applicable.

Please use separate entry forms for each individual entry. YOU MAY TAKE A PHOTO OR SCAN OF YOUR APPLICATION AND SUBMIT IT ELECTRONICALLY.

Submissions may be fiction, documentary, or animation of the length indicated by each category and must be appropriate for an audience under the age of 19.

Submissions by DVD will not be returned.

7.

The Festival retains the power to decide on all matters not specifically dealt with in these regulations. No application will be accepted unless signed. YOU MAY TAKE A PHOTO OR SCAN OF YOUR APPLICATION AND SUBMIT IT ELECTRONICALLY.

The Festival will make every effort to ensure the safe keeping of all productions submitted for competition, which are in its care or control. However, the Applicant in applying to the Festival agrees to release the Festival, its Officers, Directors and other representatives, from any and all claims arising in any way from the submission of materials by or on behalf of the Applicant, whether on video or otherwise to the Festival.

All video becomes property of Sticks and Stones Media and may be posted on the internet or displayed at events to promote both the County of Haliburton and media production within the County.

If you are sending work from outside Canada, please indicate on the outside of the package: FOR FESTIVAL PREVIEW ONLY - NO COMMERCIAL VALUE or you may be required to pay customs duties.

Prizes All entrants will receive a complimentary pass to the outdoor screening, in Head Lake Park on Saturday, January 25th, 2014 at approximately 6 pm. Follow us on facebook at MyHaliburtonHighlandsFilmFest for updated information. How to Submit a Video Dropbox Step 1 Set up your account · If you do not have an account for dropbox you can click HERE to get started. · Then click the blue link that says “create an account”. · Follow the steps to set up your account. Step 2 Upload your video · When you are logged in to your account, you can begin uploading your video by clicking the “upload” icon

Click the “Choose Files” button and follow the steps.

Step 3 Send us the link · Once your video is uploaded select it. It should appear highlighted in blue. · A new task bar should appear on the top of the page. · On the task bar click the chain link icon that says “Share Link”

A new window should open that looks like the picture below. Click the “Get Link” Button

The light box should disappear and you should get a notification that says “link copied to clipboard”. This means that when you paste anything you will paste the link. You can also now copy the URL in your browser and paste it in the Dropbox link field in our Entry form.

Vimeo Step 1 Set up video to be Downloaded · Go to the settings page for your video. · A task bar should appear near the top of the page click on the “Privacy” button.

The page should now look like the image below.

Check off the “Download the Video” button and be sure to “Saves Changes”.

Step 2 Send us the link to your video 路 Click on the thumbnail of your film in the top right corner of the window.

This should send you to a page where you can view your own video. Copy and paste the link you find in your browser window (e.g vimeo.com/66666666666) in to the Vimeo Link field in our submission form. Be sure to include the password if it is required.
