A&M-San Antonio A NOTE FROM DR. REBA SIMS FAMILY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR
Happy holidays Jag Family! The start of the pandemic in Spring 2020 drastically changed the dynamic of academia both inside and outside the classroom in monumental ways. With that, we have seen your jaguars' resiliency through sometimes unclear change, but we have also seen the same in you. Whether you're a part of our recent cohort of Family First Seminar graduates, an active Family Association member, engaged with the newsletter and Family Connect, an attendee at on campus and virtual events, or recently served as a sponsor for a Student Angel with Adopt A Student, YOU ARE THE DIFFERENCE! I am honored to be able to serve you all as Family Engagement Coordinator and I am excited for the many opportunities to engage families on and off campus in the future. We will be piloting a family mentorship program in the spring as well as offering a series of workshops/presentations to keep families connected with the university and the realities of their students. I hope to see you there! I send love, health, strength, and prosperity your way this holiday and all those to come. Please do not hesitate to reach out to any professional on campus. If you don't know who to call, call or email me (210-784-1434 or family@tamusa.edu). Stay Safe and Be Well,

UPDATE! For spring 2021: Semester starts January 11 but winter break is the 11th-15th. The extended winter break replaces the spring break in March, which has been canceled; and the first day of classes for the spring semester is Tuesday, January 19, following the observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 18th. This decision has been made in light of increasing COVID cases and CDC guidance, but also eliminates the need for mid-semester quarantining and isolation.
Jaguar Spirit Night Let's Go Jaguars! The A&M-SA Jaguarettes invite you to our inaugural Jaguar Spirit Night fundraiser at Raising Cane's on 2525 SW Military Dr on Wednesday, December 9th between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. We will be showing our Jaguar Pride at Raising Cane's while promoting and maintaining social distancing by asking our Jaguar Nation to stop by the drive-thru and order from an array of delicious chicken finger meals. Of course don't forget that Cane Sauce. Once you place your order don't forget to tell them that you are here to support the Jaguarettes at A&M-San Antonio or show off our Jaguar Spirit Night at Raising Cane's flyer.
