RSVP for Students!
RSVP for Family!
The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) hosts Regional Summits focused on preparing students for leadership roles and internships within high-demand fields including: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), finance, accounting, business, communications and marketing fields. HACU's Emerging Leaders' Summit will take place virtually on February 26, 2021, co-hosted with Texas A&M University-San Antonio.Students participate in a one-day virtual summit with leadership and career preparation workshops and panels. If selected, students will be able to engage with HACU corporate partners that are recruiting for employment opportunities (confirmed partners will be listed below soon). FIVE (5) ยกAdelante! Leadership Institute scholarships will be awarded to attend HACU's 35th Annual Conference in Aurora, CO for 2021. The scholarship includes hotel, round-trip airfare, and conference registration (must be present at event to receive award).

Families Inspiring Resilience and Esperanza... That's what F.I.R.E. is! Jaguar family members and alumni interested in mentoring other jaguar family members or jaguar students can apply to be mentors in the F.I.R.E program. Mentors will be trained on effective mentoring tactics, basic counseling skills, and tools to encourage resilience. If you are interested in being matched with a mentee, please email family@tamusa.edu for more information. Are you a Jaguar student and family member that is interested in being a mentee instead? This is also the place for you! See mentee benefits on the next page. The family mentorship program will intentionally pair mentors with mentees based on various criteria and requests with the goal of enriching the lives of each mentor and mentee while increasing sense of belonging, engagement, and resilience at A&M-San Antonio.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Seven A&M-San Antonio faculty and staff members collaborated to share their expertise on ways students can enhance their overall well-being. This article provides an overview of eight wellness domains and includes practical tips individuals can implement to maximize wellbeing in each respective domain. This article has been published on the Dean of Students website. ACT/SAT is no longer required for incoming first-year students. T he Emergency Aid Application is live. Applications are currently being reviewed. Registration is open for Spring 2021.

Are your student looking for a job or internship? Look no further! The Office of Family Engagement has you covered. Just head over to Handshake, our online system. On Handshake, you student will find many opportunities including postings, career events, and more. During this time, there are also many remote opportunities available. To begin, have your student go to Handshake and log into JagWire with their credentials. For more information or a quick guide on how to log into Handshake, please click here. Please note that your student will be sent a verification to their University email, and this gets caught in spam sometimes. Have them check that folder to be able to verify.
