Dear Jaguar Students and Families, Late last week you received an update about Fall 2021, which referenced guidance from the Texas A&M University System, recommending that all system campuses return to normal operations for fall 2021. This news brings great optimism and opportunity for our Jaguar Community and will allow for our campus to safely scale operations to support increased face-to-face instruction and programming with increased student events and activities. Similar to how we planned and prepared for Fall 2020 and Spring 2021, we are beginning to plan and prepare, with guidance from the A&M System, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We anticipate that you will have questions about our campus scaling operations during the next six months, we will continue to being broadly consultative in developing our plans and communicating with transparency as we have during the past year. As we all continue to collectively navigate the long, hectic experience of the pandemic, please know that our commitments to protecting your health and safety and to the shared governance model that enriches our university remain vitally important. We want to hear from you, for questions and feedback, please visit https://www.tamusa.edu/coronavirus/questions.html. As has been the case throughout the pandemic, a safe environment for return to campus this fall will be informed by public health guidance and best practices, the status of current and emerging COVID-19 variants, local public health conditions and vaccine availability. Our campus will continue to follow health and safety guidance of the A&M University System, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and public health officials and closely monitor the situation. We will maintain wellness checking stations for monitoring, public health assistants, cleaning, activities that follow social distancing guidelines and face mask policies. Current mask and social distancing protocols are still in place and any updates will be communicated via the website, email, and social media. You will continue to find information and resources at: tamusa.edu/communitysafety-together. A&M-San Antonio students continue to be exemplars and we applaud your commitment to continue behaviors that have kept our campus community safe this past year. Please remember to access the reporting portal should you have recently received a positive test for COVID-19, are experiencing symptoms, or have recently travelled. It is important that the Jaguar community continue our outstanding efforts to keep everyone as healthy and safe as possible. We remind you the health and safety of our campus, you and your family and friends is impacted by continuing to practice social distancing and wearing a facemask during the second half of the semester. For questions regarding registration for summer and fall semester, please visit the Office of the Registrar, Undergraduate Academic Advising, or your academic advisor.
