TRANSFER ASSEMBLIES
PART TWO
WHATAREASSEMBLIES?
Transfer assemblies are the second part of orientation. It's a one-day, on campus experience hosted to help acclimate you to the A&M-SA family. We strive to help welcome all new and incoming transfer students and their families to our institution and provide them with resources and foundational knowledge to make you successful in your educational journey. Full schedule on page 5.
EXPECT
WHAT TO ONBOARDING SESSIONS
We'll be offering two onboarding sessions prior to check-in. First is a guided campus tour, led by fellow students. Second, a Jagwire Navigation session. Jagwire is the system you will use to find and utilize campus resources, registration, your new student email and account information.
MEET THE RESOURCES
After check in and welcome, we'll move you into our dining hall for an info fair. We introduce you to some of our campus departments, resources and student organizations. Concluding the fair, you'll be moved back into the auditorium for a Transfer Student & staff panel; where you'll have the chance to ask about their experience.
JOIN THE TRADITION
Once we equip you with the information you need to be successful on campus, we invite you to join in on the fun and tradition. A&M-SA honors the different experiences transfer students bring and that's why we invite families to attend and share in the experience of signing the scroll, a transfer tradition - learn more on pg.6

KNOW YOUR LOGIN CREDENTIALS
Jagwire is the platform that will give you access to important resources online. The Jagwire Navigation Session will introduce you to this site and help guide you through it, so be sure to bring your login information!
REGISTER FOR CLASSES
Unlike other events offered on campus, Assemblies will not provide an opportunity to register for classes; so be sure to complete registration before attending to maximize on all opportunities offered that day. However, during the on boarding session we will provide some guidance on where to find the registration tools.
IDENTIFY YOUR CLASS LOCATIONS
Don't get lost on campus! Take advantage of campus tours to familiarize yourself with the location of your classes, computer labs, on-site cafeteria, Transfer Center spaces and the closest parking lot.
DISCOVER RESOURCES YOU MIGHT NEED
The Info Fair will expose you to pertinent student resources available to you on campus. From Disability Support Services to mentorship programs, you will have a chance to meet and discuss your specific needs, so come prepared to seek out resources you may know you need. (Refer to the complete list of resources on pg.7)

TRANSFER TRADITION
THE TRADITION OF SIGNING THE SCROLL FIRST STARTS WITH A SEATED DINNER WHERE WE INTENTIONALLY PLACE A STUDENT LEADER AND A FACULTY/STAFF MEMBER OF THE A&MSA COMMUNITY AT EACH TABLE.
DURING DINNER YOU WILL GET FURTHER REASSURANCE OF THE FAMILY-LIKE CULTURE OF OUR CAMPUS AND GET FAMILIAR WITH OUR MISSION TO ENSURE YOUR SUCCESS. FOLLOWING DINNER YOU'LL HERE FROM PROMINENT VOICES ON CAMPUS AND PARTAKE IN THE SIGNING OF THE SCROLL.
THE TRADITION OF THE SIGNING OF THE SCROLL STARTED IN 2019 – SEVERAL NEW TRANSFER STUDENTS SAT IN THE SAME SEATS YOU DID, TOOK THE SAME PEN, AND SIGNED INTO AGREEMENT THAT THEY WOULD FINISH AS A JAGUAR! BEST OF ALL YOU DON'T SIGN IT ALONE, EVERYONE IN THE ROOM SIGNS THE SCROLL AS A SIGN OF AGREEMENT TO DO WHAT WE CAN TO HELP YOU REACH YOUR ACADEMIC GOALS.

Mentorship Program

Mentorship Program Slogan
What we offer
The mentorship program is designed to pair up incoming transfer students to a transfer student who has already successfully completed a semester or more at A&M-SA This gives you a friend and ally, someone you can ask questions who's only a text away Often times, we pair you based off your major or your student-parent or military status, so you have someone you are similar to, to guide you through your transition year
More than mentorship
While we offer mentorship as a main priority, we often times see friendships flourish. We offer events for professional development, community engagement, and volunteer opportunities and someone to attend these events with; your mentor! We offer guidance and preparation for a professional life after graduation. We highly recommend you get a mentor to make this semester successful and easier.
THANK YOU
Thank you to all of our Silver Liner Mentorship members, without your help at the assemblies the incoming transfers would have a big missing piece of this experience. Volunteering your time to guide them around campus, share your experiences and be a part of their success stories, is a vital piece of our program, so we thank you for doing so, so enthusiastically.
