A performing arts centre which embraces the classical Indian design style along with a touch of contemporary look through the concept of storytelling was the project. The primary objective of the Centre was promoting and preserving classical art forms while providing a platform for various other types of performing arts. It was also an effort to make people aware about the fundamentals of classical Indian performing arts as stated in the Natya Shastra that include the basic nine emotions.

The performance spaces which included a performance hall cum café with its dual function will serve as a point of attraction amongst the other art centres present in the same locality as there aren’t any eating joints with a large capacity in the Mandi House hub. The hall can serve different functions at the same time as well as at different times of the day by use of modular seating. The project also involved landscaping of the site and certain spaces of the site such as the open-air theatre and auditorium were retained as designing them was out of my expertise.
CONCEPT The concept was to design a Performing Arts Centre which attempted to narrate a story through its interiors. Reconnecting the Indian classical design forms and adding a touch of contemporary style, the Centre attempts to stand out in contrast to the existing modern style Performing Art Centers. The project seeks to tell a tale of Nav Ras or Nine emotions as elucidated in the Natya Shastra, the foundation of all Indian classical performing art forms. By forming a connection between the spaces and the art forms being exhibited, the Centre gives a feel of a performance taking place at every corner. The inspiration comes from the origins of performing art spaces that were in the form of amphitheatres, in terms of space planning, materials and decor. Mood board/Concept board
The idea was to tell a story of the nine emotions or nav ras as stated in the natya shastra through colour that each emotion represents in the interiors. AUDITORIUM
The colour is applied on the brick work on walls at random points and on flooring through marble inlay work.
All spaces of the building have brick wall finish. The corridors have mirrors attached at random points.

LIBRARY
The lobby space is designed to serve as an introduction to the concept of Nav Ras or Nine emotions. Hence the walls of the same have different colours painted on the brick work to represent colours of each emotion.
Reflected Ceiling Plan
Taking inspiration from the earliest forms of performance spaces- amphitheaters, the idea was to create interactive spaces in the form of steps in different areas of the Centre where visitors can sit, relax and talk. With artificial grass laid on the steps, it will bring a feel of being closer to nature in the interior spaces and augment the amphitheater ambience. It also will give a impression of a performance taking place at different corners of the building.
Project 02 -Restaurant LITMUS CAFE Any action, space or event obscure or concealed so as to arouse curiosity is a mystery and it is mystery that has been the prime source of a field we all are associated with i.e., Science. The space I designed is a mixture of these two elements. Mystery being the base while science, Chemistry in particular, being the medium for creating a completely unusual area. The idea was to design a space which is different from the usual warm and cozy atmosphere of a café-cum-lounge. A cool yet welcoming environment with an out-ofthe box décor and menu provides an unexpected yet extraordinary experience for the ever curious youth. The lounge didn’t just provide a place for people to meet, interact and relax, it also offers private zones for those who wish to gain the experience exclusively. The focus was on privacy, uniqueness and innovation while designing this restaurant.
The colour scheme consists of shades of grey and blue that provide a cool look and atmosphere to the restaurant.
Inspired by the hexagonal structure of benzene molecule, the shape has been incorporated in several spaces such as cubicles, tables and windows and therefore acts as a central binding element of the restaurant.
Visitors are guided through the restaurant via red lines painted on the floor using epoxy paint. They represent chemical bonds and help visitors understand the circulation between spaces.

Experiment
The replication of a chemistry lab using custom-made workbenches and enclosing the space in a glass paritions was an attempt to provide a semi-private zone for visitors who wish experience a different atmosphere where people could meet and interact with new people.
Inspired by the bonds and structures of chimical molecules the RCP consists of a network of metal panels and metal pipes as well as concealed grid false ceiling (using POP) in certain areas.

Mock Table Setting
As a part of brand identity development, graphics were designed for creating defined image for the restaurant. These graphics were used to design logo, symbols and coasters which were used in different areas.
A mock table setting was created to give an idea about the feel the space will provide for the visitors and it showed how the theme was executed in terms of styling.
Project 03 - Hospitality Change is the only constant and to constantly provide a changing experience to the guests walking into the hotel was my objective. I designed a hotel based on the concept of playing with light and shadow by use of traditional methods with a modern style to form a contemporary look. Situated in Ahmedabad, the hotel’s design will optimize the use of resources available and will take inspiration from the local crafts and harness natural light (generating solar energy) to form a sustainable environment.
Style Board
Three floors have been designed with the ground floor having public spaces such as banquet hall, restaurant, conference room , retail stores etc. and the first and second floor having the fuest rooms ans semi- public spaces such as dining hall and meeting rooms.
All spaces have been carefully designed keeping in mind about the theme of gujarat crafts while maintaining a modern look.

CONCEPT The concept is to design a hotel that forms a symphony of natural light and traditional crafts by use jaalis and gujarati handicrafts. By use of simple techniques of playing with light, different spaces have a dynamic yet mysterious feel to it and provide an extraordinary experience to the guests.
Six types of guest rooms have been designed namely : Standard Twin room Standard King room Room for the Physically Disabled ExecutiveRooms Executive Suites Family Suite Grand Suite -
Twin Room Layout Plan
Designed a foldable jaali with the pattern taking inspiration from indian crafts and adding a contemporary look by customising the traditional form. The jaali pattern was designed keeping in mind about privacy and the play of naural light to create drama in the guest room.
Family Suite Layout Plan
Retail design was a part of the hospitality project, where a retail store present within the hotel was designed. I designed a clothing store. The store saw use of jaali panels and glass partitions to incorporate the concept.
