ABOUT ME
WORK EXPERIENCE
My journey as a designer began when I joined School of Design, Pearl Academy to pursue Interior Designing and Styling. With a background of pure science it was a paradigm shift to a creative field which had always been close to my heart. As a person who was always fascinated by how minute details come together to form a design, my inclination and aptitude in this field enabled me to grasp theoretical and practical aspects of interior designing with ease, culminating in my attaining First Rank and a Merit Scholarship. Having started my journey on a strong footing, it was time for me to venture into the practical field. After joining SpaceMaze Interiors, I got a first hand experience about the way Interior Designing firms function. After this enriching exposure I got the opportunity to independently handle a project where I worked with my batchmate for doing the interiors of a newly constructed office building. The assignment required us to organise our own workforce, source materials, supervise the workers and undertake various other tasks in order to execute our design as envisaged by us. After completion of a year in the field, I’m looking forward to continuing my journey in this exciting, vast field and aim to leave a mark in the world of interiors.

With a modern-industrial theme, the concept was to design an office which had good connectivity between different divisions of the office that also fulfilled the client’s requirements. Achieving the above in a limited budget was the most challenging part. The work was required for a 4 storied newly constructed building with the brief to convert the 3rd and 4th floors for rental office space and basement, ground floor and first floor for the company’s office, reception and workshops.

In this project we aimed to create a well balanced office space with earthy elements such as brick patterns, wood finishes, green accents along with modern straight-lined furniture with no compromise on their functionality. With an interplay of metal, wood and concrete finishes, we developed an industrial yet modern look.

The focus was on creating an opulent looking modern apartment to create an impact on the visitors interested in buying an apartment in the housing complex so as to enable them to visualise the apartment in its finished and furnished form. Brass metal, wood and marble finishes along with elegant fabrics were used to achieve the desired look and feel.

CLUB HOUSE One of the major projects undertaken by me with the team of SpaceMaze was the Clubhouse of a renowned housing society complex in Noida. The Clubhouse consisting of Lobby, Banquet Halls, Spa Sauna, Gym, Indoor Gaming and Kids Play Area was designed keeping in mind not only the needs of the end users but also to give a distinct flavour to each of the above spaces.
The simultaneous implementation of durable materials and a quirky design was a challenge well accomplished.

Keeping in mind the high density of the society, optimum utilisation of the available space had to be done in order to take care of the high footfall in the Clubhouse. Through customisation of several elements such as furniture, flooring etc., a disinct look and inviting feel was achieved.

The space constraints of this clinic posed a new challenge as several functions were to be performed in a limited space. Use of seating in the shape of hexagons which form a honeycomb interlocking pattern created a modular space for conducting a variety of functions. Planters play a dual function of adding privacy and creating a green environment along with adding character to the space.

This project was one of the most appreciated projects in college. The space I designed was a mixture of two elements - Mystery and Science. Mystery being the base while science, Chemistry in particular, being the medium for creating a completely unusual cafe. Inspired by the hexagonal structure of benzene molecule, the shape was incorporated in several spaces
such as cubicles, tables and windows and therefore acted as a central element of the restaurant. The colour scheme consisted of shades of grey and blue that provided a cool yet welcoming atmosphere to the restaurant. Several elements were taken directly from the field of chemistry, such as laboratory equipments, chemical structures and formulas.
