PROJECTS Put a Cork In It - Fall 2014 Wander - Spring 2014
Reflections; Maleable Networks- Fall 2015
Reflections Reflections is a hypothetical, multi-level installation that studies the reflective quality of light. Panels of copper, mirrors, wood, and plexiglass come together to form glimmering prisms. These prisms cut through the ground plane and are designed to be pushed and pulled by the users with ease, then locked into place. This assortment of positions and materials allow for light to enter in a variety of intensities. These same pathways that allow light to enter also allow for the user’s range of vision to pass through the prism and the ground plane, and be able to view others above or below them.
Light Well interactions
9
The disconnected ground planes provide an air of
curiousity as the prisms provide glances of the hidden worlds above or below the users.

Maleable networks openideo field office and eastern headquarters
OpenIdeo provides an international platform for people from all walks of life to come together, connect, and make the world a better place by collectively looking at one socioeconomic problem at a time. This design looks at the workplace as a changing space. Just as OpenIdeo is a maleable network, this office design allows connections to be modified to be closer together or further apart, depending on the needs of each project. In allowing this maleability, creativity is allowed to flow easily throughout the open workspace.

A main shape was

Wander residency project catered to client interview
Wander is a residential project designed for a client. After interviewing the client about her preferences & needs, it was determined that she needed a home with many rooms to explore. Inspired by nature, the two glass buildings were joined by a fissure in the center of the home that serves as the home’s main hallway. The hallway branches off to seperate quarters of the home. This same hallway echoes a trail in a forest of birch trees, to accomodate the client’s love of nature, but need for seperation of the interior from the exterior.

Wine Bar with integrated glass & cork recycling
This recycling center, located in a renovated warehouse in the Old City, Knoxville, encourages customers to recycle their cork & glass products at this modern wine bar. The warm interior houses a wall follows the shape of a splash of wine which swirls down to form a wine bar.A cork installation floats above visitors and swirls back into the main wall. A fireplace glows and crackles to light up the space, encouraging customers to relax and unwind in this unique space.
