Sales

It’s time for some tough love

How can you expect someone to spend money on your photography if you wont? We do it without even thinking about it. The questions usually go like this: “What’s the most affordable _______”. Translation: What’s the cheapest. That’s not how to run a business. You’re hurting yourself. Think about it; you’re doing exactly what you criticize your prospects for doing. The question to ask is “what’s the best _______”. Going cheap on your business is a false economy it makes your life harder and it shows that you don’t take your business seriously. I’m not saying you have to go all out, but if your business cards say VistaPrint on the back of them, you will not get top dollar assignments. Everything that is associated with you must be excellent. Your web site, your business cards, your promotional materials all have to at least be up to the level of the people you want to attract. Ok, end of rant. I want you to be successful, so please, don’t be cheap with yourself.

and change, becoming better photographers through the process. While competition is widely regarded as the best way to learn and grow, it is rarely seen as a money making endeavor. Join Linda as she shows you how to turn competition work into a viable component of your business-from bringing in new clients, gaining respect from the community, garnering greater client loyalty and even how you can get clients to pay you to photograph for competition!
