NOTES Picture Jolly Old St. Nick stepping out to a funky, bluesy beat, and you’ve got Santa’s Strut. Not to be outdone, Santa’s elves chip in with a toy-building rhythmic breakdown that’s a hoot for players and audiences alike. Listen to each other, lock in, and get your holiday groove on with Santa’s Strut! The Percussion part can be performed by one or two players. If using two players, the part can be divided by one player taking the top half of the staff (sleigh bells, vibraslap, and ribbon crasher) and the other player taking the bottom half (cowbell, bell tree, and chimes). Conversely, the part can be divided in whatever logistical way suits the players. —Brian Slawson
