Piece designed by paracord ensuing the study of cultural adornment and macramÊ. Strong, lightweight rope allowed for layering and knotting without an added abundance of uncomfortable weight. Each strand was secured by hand stitch, each end melted by flame to prevent fraying. Paracord is the only weaving craft that incorporates the sense of practicality with the sense of durability and can be utilized in various ways. This piece creatively reflects the textiles’ beauty while amplifying its apparent purpose as a safety securing device to a fashion textile.
