Apple Angels Donate To UPSK Many thanks to some special angels of the Ursuline Preschool and Kindergarten. Upon learning that UPSK needed to purchase iPads, two families, who wish to remain anonymous, took action. One purchased six iPads and protective cases for the children to use and the other an iPad and case for the instructor. UPSK technology teacher and Ursuline Associate Judie Albanese is excited for her kindergarten students to use the iPads. “I’ll be using them for educational purposes, zeroing in on language arts, math and science,” she says. “The iPads will keep the children up with technology and prepare them to go into 1st grade.” Transitional kindergarten students, she notes, will begin using the iPads at the end of the year. “We believe technology-enriched instructional activities are motivators for today’s students,” adds Sister Charlotte Italiano, director of UPSK and a longtime educator. “Proper use and understanding of iPads, computers and cloud computing are essential in our curriculum as we, as a catholic school, seek to raise the standards.” ALL SMILES -- The kindergarten class at the Ursuline Preschool and Kindergarten are all smiles as they learn from Sister Charlotte Italiano (left), director of UPSK, and technology teacher Judie Albanese how to use the newly donated iPads.

We’re creating a media room at the Motherhouse to connect with our offsite ministries and for continuing education. We need to purchase about $5,000 in technology: a TV, laptop, cables, video projector, remote presenter and software. If you can be an Angel for our Media Room Project, please call Sister Nancy Dawson at 330-792-7636.
