PAMPLONA-SPAIN 22-26 January 2018

Hi, my name is Marcos and this story will try to show you an special experience that I took place in my last year of secondary School, IES Padre Moret Irubide.

I had the opportuny of housing some Portuguese students at home, and we had an incredible experience while they were here in Pamplona.

We visited several places of interest, and did some school works aroun Migration, but the most wonderful experience was to share our likes and dislikes, adn we finally become friends.

We were all counting down the days to meet again in some other place, and my

opportunity took place in Volos (Greece) where I could enjoy a similar experience (I even had the opportunity to drink goat milk, that I didnt expect).

The most emotional moment was when we had to say good bye to our friends

again.. I dindt expecto to cry, but I couldent help it‌ as in the end the most important thing for Erasmus exchanges I believe it is to enforce international friendship.

From my point of view, every studetnt in Europe shold travel at least once in

his/her secondary school life.. to Better understand the idea of International friendship

Thank you Culture Enriched with Migraation team! Thanks Erasmus Plus!!

My trip to Spain

One year ago I travelled with my teachers and with my friends to Pamplona (Spain). That journey was the best experience I have ever had. I met new people, new friends. I learned new things. I saw different habits and cultures. In the Erasmus program I learned to work in groups and practice the English language. I also learned how Spanish people live and how different is their culture from ours. I would like to travel again to Spain... Anta Chatzigeorgiou

Trip to Pamplona

It was January 2018 and I was definitely excited. Despite having a cold, due to the awful weather at the time, I was feeling happy. Why, you ask? Well, I was going on an Erasmus trip to Pamplona, with some friends, and there was a great reason to be excited - the antecipation of the week we were about to experience. Already in Pamplona, we were having good times. The moments we spent in the historical part of the city were undoubtedly the funniest. It was when we finally connected to most people. The hardest and therefore the most emotional moment happened during the farewell. Lots of crying, hugging and saying “goodbye”. It was not easy to go through those minutes. I’ve learnt that it’s actually really possible to make long lasting friendships with people from other countries and cultures. Thus, I would certainly like to see everyone again in the near future, or meet new people through similarly enriching projects.

ERASMUS + KA 2 “-CULTURE EINRICHED BY MIGRATION “ Second Transnational meeting in Spain ( Pamplona ) Last January I went to Spain with my school mates to participate into the 2^ nd Learning/teaching/training meeting in Spain-in Pamplona. It was my first time in Spain and I was very excited and curious to visit a new country and to meet students coming from different European countries with different cultures.I liked this experience very much The most exciting moment was the trip to San Sebastian where we visited a little village, and it was very beautiful, and next we went to San Sebastian where we visited the city and the amazing beach called La Colca for its shape. The hardest moment was on the first day when I met my host family and my “ new house”: It was a little bit strange for me, because I have never done that before, but my host family was fantastic: helpful and welcoming The funniest moment I remember was when I went downt town to eat pinchos with the new family( I like pinchos very much ) . We played the local game Pelotas and next we went to eat and drink something together. During the week I had the opportunity to hear so many different languages, anyway different because I was born in Romania and Italian is ( or was ) a different language for me and to share different way of living and cultures The most emotional moment was the last day when we had to separate us….. I have learnt that we aren't so different even when we come from a different country or continent and friendship has no border! I would like to repeat the experience because I like to know new people, new countries, new languages but I hope to welcome all my friend next year in my city!

ALESSANDRO MESSINA ,TRIESTE-ITALY ERASMUS + KA 2 “-CULTURE EINRICHED BY MIGRATION “ Second Transnational meeting in Spain ( Pamplona )

End of January I had the opportunity to participate into the 2^nd Transnational Meeting in Spain-Pamplona.I have already visited Spain but not North Spain and not in winter..... Spain is always connected with summer, sea and holidays! So this travel proved to be very different: During my stay in Pamplona with my teachers and my classmate I learnt a lot : for example to work in a group with other people speaking different languages like Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, Turkish and Danish:English was the “ lingua franca “ but it was really funny to hear so different languages and intonations! During the week there were many exciting moments: the arrival at the airport and the meeting with the students who came to welcome us, the presentation of the project in the theatre inside the school and the trip to San Sebastian. But there were also some difficult moments like exposing our work to other people in English : I am a bit shy and it wasn’t easy to talk in front of a public looking at you and listening to you. Funny moments I remember are the evenings spent with my dear host family, with my host brother (Angel ) and with the other boy Duarte, the many places we visited during the week and the people: Spanish people are not very different from Italian people so very often I felt at home One of the most emotional moment I remember was the last day when we realized that game was over and unfortunately we had to came back In Italy. I learnt to work in group in English and immediately to relate to other people something that I didn’t know before, even if it wasn’t very simple. I would like to repeat this experience because it was really funny and I met people I hope to welcome in my city next year or to see again in Portugal in January.

PAMPLONA – ERASMUS+ 2017 I can describe that experience with two words: wonderful and unforgettable. I traveled a lot in the past, but participating in this Erasmus has been different. I went to Spain, more exactly to Pamplona and I was hosted by a beautiful family composed by the dad who spoke English very well with me, the mum who’s so cute, the two little sisters, and Andrea who’s a lovely friend. I felt as part of their family and I’m very thankful to them. On the first day, at school, we listened to the Irubide Orquestra Concert, which was a flute orchestra that I liked very much and then we visited the Town Hall and the Navarre Government Education Department. In the afternoon we came back to school and we did an interesting teamwork about migration. I visited beautiful and important places like museums and the two universities of Navarra, the public one and the private one that looked like a castle, it was amazing. We spent all the third day in San Sebastián, a beautiful city with an incredible beach where I had a great time playing with friends. It was my favourite and funny day. We also went to The Pamplona Basin where we did a fantastic indoor climbing.. I liked so much doing it! On the last day, we visited nice places: Olite, Eunate, Puente la Reina, Estella and The Source of Urederra. In the evening we stayed in a big shopping center where we played bowling and ate every kind of food we wanted: I ate a typical Spanish sandwich and it was very good. I got on well with everyone, but in particular with the Spanish guys. I miss all of them and I hope I can see them again as soon as possible. I keep the t-shirt with all their signatures as a beautiful memory that I will always keep in my heart.

We met at the bullring where we got a guided tour. However, we had to go home ahead of time and could be during the whole tour. It was very distressing, and the trip home was good. Our experience The experience has been very good. It has been great to get to know new people, as well as learn the history of Pomona While we were working on migration in different countries. Having got new friendships and new relationships where you are always welcome.

My experience in Pamplona

Impossible to put into words this great experience. I met wonderful people and I saw beautiful places. The first day we went to school to listen the flute orchestra. It was a welcome for us. Then we visited the Town Hall, where a guide told us about the history of Pamplona. The second day we presented the History of migration in our countries. Then we visited the beautiful Cathedral and in the afternoon we went to school for an activity with some immigrants and then we went to “La Morea” a shopping center. The third day we went to Elizondo. There was a beautiful waterfall where we took a lot of photos and then we went to San Sebastiàn, where, in the morning, we visited the Modern Art Museum and in the afternoon we went to the beach. The fourth day we had the poster contest at school and then we went to the public and private universities of Navarra and in the afternoon we went to a leisure centre where we did for climbing. The last day we went to Plaza de Toros and to Olite where we visited a beautiful castle. In the evening we went to Itaroa, a shopping center, where we played bowling, to spend our last hours together. Walking around Pamplona and the other towns was really funny and I admired very beautiful landscapes. The family who hosted me was really friendly and generous towards to me. I got closer to the girl who hosted me, Carlota, I really love her. When I arrived I missed my “routine”, my friends, my parents but then I found a new “routine” and I started watching everything with new eyes, the Spanish ones. I cried a lot the last day, like everyone, because I didn’t want to leave. It was so sad to say goodbye to everyone, because we were like a family, a multicultural family. I think this experience is one of the most beautiful things I have lived in my life. It’s strange how, in one week, we start loving each other like brothers and sisters. Erasmus has taught me that despite different languages and different cultures we are all the same. I learned a lot of things from everyone, about their countries and I’m grateful for this, because now, somehow, I know more about the world. Thanks to both the schools, my school and Pamplona’s school for having organized this magnificent experience that will forever be kept in my heart. Diletta- San Severo

When I heard that I would go to Pamplona in Spain I was very happy. I was counting the days because I wanted to meet my new friends and learn about their culture .On 16 of January 2018 I arrived in Pamplona and I met my new friends. It was awesome! We had a great time we hang out, talked about our problems, global problem etc. Also, I remember a lot, the stories that I heard from other students who were immigrants. It was such an emotional time! Furthermore I think that in Pamplona there are many things for someone to see such as the arenas and the castles from the medieval times. I would like to mention that with the Erasmus+ program I gained a lot of memories and knowledge but the most important thing is that I gained a lot of friends!!!!

PAMPLONA – ERASMUS+ 2017 What I am going to talk about outlines one of the greatest adventure in my whole fifteen-year-old life: the Erasmus+. From the 21st to 27th January 2018 I was in Spain, in Pamplona. I was a Spanish student’s guest, whose name is Maider and she also hosted another guy from Greece, besides me. Maider’s family was amazing; they were really kind to us and I got on well with them. In that week I had the opportunity to visit beautiful and important places rich of history such as various castles, museums and the two universities of Navarra, the public one and the private one. Describing more specifically, on the first day, staying at school, we listened to the Irubide Orquestra Concert, which was a flute orchestra and then we visited the Town Hall and the Navarre Government Education Department; in the afternoon we did some activities at school about migration. On the second day we all met up at school and then we went to visit the Cathedral and the Navarra Archive, two very interesting places; in the afternoon we had free time and went to the shopping center “La Morea”. On the third day we went to San Sebastian and Elizondo, two beautiful places where we spent the whole day. Continuing, on the fourth day at school, we watched some video interviews made on our own about migration, then we visited the two universities of Navarra, which were incredible and also very welcoming. One curious thing was that the private one didn’t even seem like a university, but it appeared just like an ancient castle. During that week I did something I had never done before as well: climbing. Really,we did an indoor climbing in The Pamplona Basin, which is a kind of park where even Ninja Warriors train in; it was a little bit frightening but at the same time fantastic. But what is a trip without good company? Actually, there I found awesome people who were coming from the whole Europe! We all bond right away and we spent most of the time together; they were so friendly and sympathetic and, sometimes, even when I was too shy to start talking or doing something, they always involved me in whatever they were doing. Now we are keeping in touch and chatting, but, despite this, I really miss staying with them. The only thing I didn’t like much was food, but probably it is quite normal, since I wasn’t accustomed to eat Spanish typical stuff like “Tortilla”; in fact, one day my Greek friend and I went to a pizzeria because we wanted to eat the food we like. At the end, on the last day, we visited some beautiful places, namely Olite, Eunate, Puente la Reina, Estella and The Source of Urederra. But the most important thing about this day, getting back to what I said before, was the greeting. We made a kind of “farewell party”, so we stayed in a

big shopping center where we played bowling and ate. We were all very sad and most of us cried until the next day. The following morning we all waved off and got ready to come back to our countries. So, what else can I say? It was an astonishing experience, during which I learnt a lot both about migration (with its problems) and other people with their customs and traditions.

VOLOS-GREECE 23-25 APRIL 2018

ANNAMARIA ROTTURA,TRIESTE-ITALY ERASMUS + KA 2 “-CULTURE EINRICHED BY MIGRATION “ Third Transnational meeting in Greece ( Volos ) Last April I had the opportunity to participate into the 3rd Transnational Meeting in Greece – in Volos . It was my first time in Greece and I was really curious: I was born in South Italy, in Calabria ,in the Magna Grecia and I thought that people and landscape couldn’t be very different. Believe me Greek people are fantastic! Never met before so helpful, friendly people! The most exciting moment was the arrival in Volos: we arrived very late and we found lot of people, host families and teachers waiting for us .I really had no particular expectations about the week in Greece and about the meeting but everything proved to be a positive experience. After one week spent together with other students from other countries and with my host family the hardest moment was without any doubt the last evening when we said goodbye and leave. The funniest moments were when with my school mates we compared “ strange habits “ about our different cultures, joking and laughing. The most emotional moment was the last night party when everybody started to cry: it was really difficult to accept that we had to leave. The party was fantastic with a lot of food, music and dancing because Greek people are very good at traditional dancing and this is not usual in Italy. The day after in the early morning I cried a lot saying good –bye to my dear host family who made me so many presents.. I learnt that it doesn't care which part of the world you are from because a strong friendship has no border. I would like to repeat this experience because I had the opportunity to make new friends and to visit an amazing place! I really appreciate being hosted by a local family because in this way I could get in touch with a new lifestyle learning something about habits, folklore and even a little bit of the language. I miss Volos, my host family and my new friends and I hope to see and to welcome them again in my city in April next year!

My Erasmus experience Erasmus project takes us to the most unexpected, exciting, authentic places and people. My adventure to Greece brought me life changing memories. This type of project helped me to develop my personal, professional and academic work, increasing my motivation to learn. Of course there are harder moments, and for me those were the presentations that we had to do, in front of everyone, every day. There are also funy moments, and I think the funniest ones for me were in the last night when we went home after the party and stayed up all night playing games and watching movies, that was absolutely my favorite moment. The most emotional moment was definitely the “goodbye moment. Saying goodbye to everyone is so sad, because you spend the whole week with the same people and you get used to them and eventually become friends with them, so saying goodbye is really sad, definitely the most emotional moment because we all start crying. I have learned a few words in greek, and it is always good to learn a new language. To sum up I would definitely love to participate in another project, due to the fact that this project is a life-changing opportunity that everyone should try.

My experience in Volos 1)The most exciting moment has been when we walked along the path to return to Volos from the village in mountain. 2)The funniest moment has been when we had a party the night before we were going to depart. 3)The hardest moment has been when we had to say goodbye to the other guys the night before their departure. All of us burst into tears. 4)The most emotional moment has been when we ate together. I think we shared much more than the food in that moment 5) I learnt that we are all different but we have in common something like the way to become friends, to get closer to each other. 6) I would like to repeat that experience because I miss all the people I met during the meeting.

FEDERICA FERRO -TRIESTE-ITALY ERASMUS + KA 2 “-CULTURE EINRICHED BY MIGRATION “ Third Transnational meeting in Greece ( Volos )

I like travelling very much because you meet new cultures, you listen to new languages and you can share different experiences.Last April I could visit a new and beautiful country participating into the 3rd Transanational meeting in Greece, in Volos.I liked everything, people, landscape,Greek students,my host family! In my opinion the most exciting moments in Greece were the daily opportunity to meet new people from different European countries, comparing different cultures and customs, hanging out with them and doing excursions and learning something more about the Greek history we learn at school visiting museums. During my stay in Volos I discovered and explored so many new and wonderful places like the Mount Pilion and the wonderful beach in Volos. A couple of times I stayed in class with Greek students listening to Greek lessons: I didn't understand anything but at the end of the week I could say “ Thank you” and Bye-bye in Greek and I was very proud! I was very lucky with my host family because they were very welcoming and helpful and they could speak English very well. The funniest moments were when visiting new places and museums I could stay with the other school mates joking and laughing all the time I learnt that if you work hard on something you can manage to do everything. I would like to repeat the experience because I love travelling , it gives me a feeling of freedom and because I had the opportunity to meet new people sharing feelings and habits!.

My experience in Volos The most exciting moment has been when we met all the other guys for the first time at school. The funniest moment has been when we had the party on Friday night and we danced all together. The hardest moment has been when we had to leave and say goodbye to the other guys. I've almost cried. The most emotional moment has been when we went out with all the other guys because I think that we got closer to each other. From this experience I’ve learnt that even if we have different religions, traditions and thoughts we can still be friends. I would like to repeat this experience because I met a lot of new people that I want to see again. Giovanni-San Severo

My experience in Volos The Erasmus project was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, because I had the opportunity to travel and meet people coming from all over Europe. The most exciting moments were the first meeting with my host family, because I was anxious to meet them, and when I knew all the boys and girls of the project. The funniest moments were when all of us went to visit places in Volos and near Volos, we had great fun and, at the same time, it was a chance to know each other better. There were also hard moments, especially when we had to work; for example when each of us had to present works about migration or when we walked a lot from the mountain to the town. The most emotional moment was absolutely on Friday when there was the final party because we realized we were leaving; we ate together and we danced, and at the end we said the last goodbye and the most of us burst into tears because we were sad to depart. Thanks to this opportunity I learnt about migration problems characterizing Europe, and I had the chance to meet different people and cultures that permitted me to grow up as a person. I would like to repeat that experience because, as I said before, it was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, I had the opportunity to travel, to improve my English skills, to see fantastic places and above all to meet wonderful people. Giuseppe- San Severo

MY ERASMUS My Erasmus experience started when, among all candidates, my name was drawn first. I couldn’t believe it and when I got back home I really realized it and I started crying. I was anxious and excited at the same time at the thought of the flight, being hosted in a foreign house with people who don’t talk my language. So my first difficulty, the hardest moments of this Erasmus were the first days when I went on answering the questions in Italian and being puzzled because they didn’t understand me but then I remembered that they weren’t Italian. Later I got used to talking in English and everything became easier. We had a lot of excursions and we discovered some of the Greek beauties. We started working on the second day but the funniest moment was when we worked all together in international groups and we had to compare our ideas: some ideas were difficult to explain so we enjoyed trying and understanding what our friends were talking about. Other funniest moments were all our journeys by bus when we taught Italian words and we learnt foreign words or we found us involved in international song competitions, especially between Spanish and Italian guys. The most exciting moment was when, on Thursday, we went shopping all together. We enjoyed a lot trying on dresses and suggesting which was the fittest. We spent an incredible week and on Friday it came to its end with the final party. The most emotional moment was when we said goodbye. We danced for the last time their traditional dances, we were all happy but at the end of the day we all cried because we knew the we had to leave. Then I realized we became in few days . I learnt that in few days you can really know a person. Those people, who didn’t know me, made me feel at home, like a daughter or a sister. They introduced me into their traditional culture but at the same time they were worried if I could prefer other things and I was really moved. I would like to repeat the experience because it has been one of the best experiences of my life so far. It’s given me more than I expected and I refer to what this experience has given me as human being apart from my improvement in the English language. So I’m looking forward to have another one like this.

Erasmus 2018 – Volos, Greece Last year, I went to Volos in scope of Erasmus+ - Culture Enriched with Migration. I met Greek, Italian, Spanish, Danish and Turkish students, some of them that I know for sure that are going to be my friends during my whole life. During that week, I was able to learn more about Greek culture and Volos’s history and I think it is a beautiful city with nice people. My host family was amazing. I went to Olga Katsada’s house and I met her parents and siblings, who made me feel like I was at home. I also had the opportunity to taste many Greek traditional dishes, some of which I liked more than others. I think I can’t say something I didn’t like during that week because everything was amazing and I couldn’t ask for better. I learned a lot with this project, not only in Greece but also in Portugal, I learned some words in Greek, in Turkish, I practice my English skills and I learned how to speak Spanish. Through all the projects we have prepared before going to Greece I could learn a lot about all the countries that participated in this project’ cultures and all the effort we spent preparing them was rewarding in the moment I saw all countries’ projects and realised how much I learned with them. Nowadays I think I can keep a conversation with a Spanish native speaker and that makes me happy because I feel very good when I am able to understand and communicate with people that have completely different lifestyles from mine and can teach me several things, making me a richer person in terms of culture. I hope someday I can return to Greece, not only to visit everything again, but to meet many people that I already miss.

ERASMUS + KA 2 “-CULTURE EINRICHED BY MIGRATION “ Third Transnational meeting in Greece ( Volos ) One month ago I could visit Greece together with other Italian school mates participating into the 3^rd Transnational meeting in Greece- Volos. I was born in Kosovo which is not far from Greece but it was my first time in this wonderful country: the landscape is not very different from my home country but people are really nice and welcoming . I had the opportunity to meet students and people coming from different European countries and different cultures exchanging habits and way of living. My dear host family was not Greek but Albanian and sometimes we spoke our language together. The funniest moment I remember was the traditional Greek party in honour of the Saint Patron Aghios Gergious where we saw people dancing traditonal folk dances with traditional costumes and where we were taught to learn traditional dances: to tell the truth it is not so easy to dance but on the last evening when we celebrated the farewell party at school I dare to say I could dance a bit. The farewell party was the hardest moment because we were aware to say good-bye and everybody started to cry…I hope to welcome the students in my city next year! During the week we visited museums and villages like Makrinitza and Mount Pilion where we visited a centre for refugee: It was really interesting and moving for me because I am a migrant coming from Kosovo and living in Italy since 2015. I liked the Greek cuisine very much, especially souvlaki and tzaziki I never tasted before. From this experience I learnt that exchanging cultures and habits is very important because you can share different point of view and I really would like to repeat a similar experience in the framework of other Erasmus projects.

.

I loved being a part of this wonderful project! I learned a lot and had the opportunity to be in contact with other cultures and traditions. I met new people, made new friends and gained a second family! This project helped me to develop some skills, such as problem solving and communication skills, that I'm sure that will be helpful in the future. I would recommend this kind of project to everyone. It's a trip that you'll never forget! It was a very enriching experience and I am thankful that I was given this opportunity!

My trip to San Severo Well I went to Italy a few months ago and I had a great time there . First of all I met a very precious person with a great personality and smile , who hosted me for many days at her house . Secondly I had a great time there, I met people, I saw their culture and monument and many other good things. Italy, especially San severo is a great and beautiful city with friendly people. Last but not least I tried their food and met a few special friends I can't forget. To sum up I would love to go there again and see again my old friend like the old days.. A had a great trip there. Olga Katsada-Greece

MY TRIP TO SAN SEVERO When I first arrived in Italy I remember my friends waiting ,with a smile on their faces, ready to welcome me. The family of the kid that would host me was very happy, kind and very hospitable to me making me feel more comfortable around them. On my first day in San Severo we took the bus and went to school where the teachers of the school welcomed us and showed us around the place. When the tour at the school ended we played some amusing ice-breaking games. In the evening we went out to eat dinner with friends. On the second day we went to some history museums and we had lunch in a very fancy restaurant, later we headed over to our homes and we got ready for an another night out to eat. On the third day we headed over to tour the town and we met the mayor of San Severo and then back to school where we showed our sketches we had created and then we drew some beautiful flowers made out of adobe. The last day of my stay in San Severo I would describe it as the best day I had. In the morning we got our adobes that we had made and after a couple of other activities we went back home to get some rest and then again to school in order to throw a party as it was going to be the last day that we would see each other. We had fun for one more last time as Erasmus team. Thomas Chatziplakis-Greece

MERYEM ELCICEK- SAN SEVERO MEETING -SEPTEMBER 2018

Hi everybody! I am Meryem, I am 20 years old and I am from Turkey ,from the Turkish Kurdistan but I have been living in Italy since I was 8 years old! I am attending the last year of the department for Social Study and I am very interested in the situation of migrants living in Italy as I am a migrant as well…..My class has been involved in the project since the beginning and to tell the truth I have worked hard on the project and I have learnt a lot. I was really enthusiastic when my teacher told me about San Severo meeting. It was my first time in South Italy and I found people, cooking, host family really friendly and nice! People are very funny, they always speak very loud, they laugh a lot and they spend a lot of time together ! san severo is a small town but very interesting with very beautiful old buildings and an amazing landscape with olive trees everywhere. We visited a Centre for refugee and we heard their stories ..It was moving and I told myself that migrants share similar experiences, problems , prejudices everywhere…. . With my friends I learnt how to make a typical pasta “ orecchiette “, different from spaghetti and tasted it with a partticular vegetable ..We made many trips, the last was to a lake with a boat. Weather was fine and not too hot. I am still in contact with the grils who hosted me and I met some of their friends during the Meeting in Trieste. I think it is very important to be aware of migrants’ situation and to fight against prejudices and fears common people seem to have and young people have more responsability because WE are the future !

AMORA-PORTUGAL 21-25 January 2019

Portugal 2019 Our trip to Portugal was a trip with lots of new impressions and was certainly an experience we will never forget. We think the subject of ' cultural enrichment ' was good, and we also feel that we have learnt a great deal about the other cultures. We got a whole lot of exciting impressions, including... The Portuguese immigration center and their way of controlling and assisting refugees. There we also had a good talk with the other countries about how to deal with refugees in different places. The many trips were also a success. Both the cultural and tourist attractions were the spreads and instructive experiences that gave us an impression in Portuguese culture. The entire cultural experience was completed by the fact that we lived privately with the sweet students who also participated in the project, as well as their welcoming families. All families warmly welcomed us and made the whole trip an experience we will never forget. The Portuguese pupils and their families were good at taking the initiative to arrange something after school. In this way we gained an even greater cultural experience. They were good at making us part of the family's everyday life. Both the families ' and the school's food were part of the cultural experience for us. We got both tasted traditional dishes and more international food that we knew. The closing event was a nice and good end to the whole week, and a great way to meet the other host families. It was great that the different families had to have their own food, which had been prepared with them together. Many of the families also chose to make traditional Portuguese dishes in this context. All in all, it was a good program the Portuguese school had laid, but it prepared from home could well have been distributed more out over the week, mixed with the excursions, so it had been more variable. We have had a good and instructive tour; with a lot of experiences we will never forget. We have linked friendships across borders. Love Greeting The Danish Girls

My experience with the Erasmus Project in Portugal When I was first proposed the, only recently left, position in the Erasmus project, I was rather hesitant. In my head I could never really estimate how everything would go until the day came to take off to Portugal. It was then and only when that I told myself that I had to come to terms with the fact that I could not have control over this trip but let others take care of everything and just enjoy myself. When we arrived I had the pleasure to stay with a very friendly Portuguese girl and another one from Italy. Both treated me with the utmost kindness. Apart from the school’s organised visits to museums and historical sites, my host, provided me with the chance to explore Portugal by showing me where the youth hang out and other beautiful places of the region. Despite the one week duration of our getaway, I was fortunate enough to meet great people and make memories with my friends. I understand that not many people have the opportunity to experience this kind of cultural immersion but, I am grateful for everything that it has offered me.

Portugal 2019 Our trip to Portugal was amazing . It was a unique experience that I will never forget. It was really interesting seeing what life outside our country is. We got to see a different culture , lifestyle and more. I personally really loved all the monuments and the beautiful big buildings. I also liked Sintra , the castle and the Monastery we visited. The kids there were so nice, kind and we had so much fun all together. There were a lot of moments that we were laughing out loud. One of them was the day when we were playing games from all the countries. One Friday at the party we had so much fun and we really enjoyed ourselves but it was also emotional because we had to say goodbye to the new friends. It was really hard to farewell everyone. The hospitality was amazing and overwhelming. I am so grateful I was given this opportunity. We made incredible memories and friends.

ERASMUS KA 2 “ Culture enriched with migration “ – Amora Meeting 5 Th Transnational Meeting - January 2019 ANNA PERNARCIC- NICOL MERLO Hi everybody! We are Anna and Nicol and thanks to the Erasmus Project last January we had the opportunity to go to Portugal, to Amora representing our school during the 5 ^ Transnational Portugal meeting. We both like travelling very much and we travel a lot with our family: Nicol is from Bosnia but she has been living in Italy since 1999 and me, Anna have lived for many years in France with my family. We are in the same class and are good friends. We were very happy and excited when we heard from our teacher of this Erasmus opportunity to meet students from the different partner countries spending a week in Portugal where we have never been before. Before leaving we have prepared the many activities and works required by the meeting: calendar, poster, contst, essays contest etc ) together with the other Italian students, Mauro and Alessandro coming with us.We didn’t know Mauro and Alessandro but in Portugal we share so many experiences together and now we are good friends We left from Venice to Lisbon and at the Airport our host families were waiting for us. We were really lucky because the host families were really nice and the host students very friendly. We saw them again in April because they came to Trieste for the Trieste meeting! During the first two days we went to school for the many ice-breaking activities and to present our works learning more about the other teams from Spain, Greece,Turkey,Danemark,San severo, Portugal. The school is a private Cambridge School where students go from primary school to secondary school using English in many subjects and with many opportunities to practise sport, music, art , quite diffferent form an Italian public school. On the other days we visited Lisbon, the nearby cities a lot: Seixal with the Naval Museum and Cork museum, the Refugee Centre in Lisbon, the Mosteiro dos Jeronimos( World Heritage ) , Cristo Rei which remember Brasil Cristo and the most western point of Europe Cabo de Roca, very impressive! The visit we like the most was the visit of Sintra, a small city with an amazing park where you can make a personal, psychological experience… The Farewell party was really funny and we danced and sang a lot and cried leaving our new friends … but as we told you Erasmus project gives you the opportunity to meet again somewhere else..

This has been an amazing and challenging experience because we have met a lot of wonderful people coming from different countries discovering that we are European with common values and goals! Portugal is a wonderful country, a multicultural country where people are very friendly and like smiling and having fun and we hope to go back in the near future .

My trip to Amora In January my nicest trip abroad, to Amora took place. I made a lot of new friends from different nations, who were all friendly and kind. Furthermore, one of my funniest experiences there was on the last day’s party , where one of my Turkish friends , who was hosted by the same family like me , was dancing like crazy. I won’t forget that moment. What’s more, my worst moment in Amora was the day we were leaving from Portugal to return to Greece, because I had to farewell the family that hosted me and my Portuguese friends. To sum up, that was an one life experience and I want to repeat it some day. George Garoufalis-Greece

My trip to Portugal The Erasmus program was a great experience, I had an amazing time! My trip to Portugal was the best and the most beautiful trip I've ever made. The child which hosted me, Thomas, was great and his family too and I thank them very much for everything. The school was gorgeous. There I met many children and I did a lot of interesting things. Portugal is one of the most beautiful countries. We visited many fantastic places. My favourite place was Sintra, because of the beautiful castle. Also, I really liked the Atlantic Ocean. The only thing that distressed me was the moment when the trip came to an end. I will never forget Portugal!! Marios Athanasiou-Greece

ERASMUS KA 2 “ Culture enriched with migration “ – Amora Meeting January 2019 MAURO PERSICO Last January I went to Portugal, to Amora ,a little town near Lisbon to represent my school during the Portugal meeting of the Erasmus KA2 Project. I was really happy and surprised at the same time because I was attending a quite different school two years ago and last year I decided with my family to change my studies. So I was a “ new “ student and the previous school never game me such opportunity! I like travelling very much and I am used to travel with my parents and my brothers but this has been a total new experience for me, different from the many language courses or school exchange because the most important goal of this project is integrating people from different countries and cultures. We were four people but we didn’t know each other even attending the same school… Now after this experience we are good friends At the departure day I was a little bit nervous because i didn't even know what to expect from the host family ( very traditional, open minded?) When I arrived in Amora I met my host family at the hotel and they were since the first moment really kind and friendly. The first day was a bit strange because I had to "ice break" with my host family starting knowing them. The first and the second day were a bit boring because we had to stay at school but the other days it was fantastic because we moved a lot around Lisbon visiting a lot of very important monuments and we made a trip to a fantastic city near Lisbon, Sintra, visiting an amazing park, a real experience! The school is quite different from our school and students have more opportunities to study, to practise sport and to improve their English. I had so much fun with the hosting and other countries people, I really enjoyed this week and hope to have the opportunity to make a similar experience in the near future: you can share similar interests, feeelings, goals with students from different cultures, countries understanding that Europe can unite us! By the way the Portugiese friends came to the Trieste Meeting in April and it was really moving to meet again and to host them in our country and city

My Erasmus+ experience in Amora For the second time I'm feeling quite depressed thinking about the week I spent in Portugal. I couldn't manage to talk with everyone but the moments with the family were the best. I met my two sisters, Angelina (my host) and Anastasia (a Greek girl who stayed at Angelina's house with me) and the host parents, who were so lovely. And I managed to create some beautiful memories with them and also with the Erasmus team. For example, when we went to Costa da Caparica. Probably it was the most exciting moment for me. It was my first time seeing the ocean and with the sunset the moment itself seemed a kind of poetic or something. We also took some picture of the scenery and it was really beautiful. If I think about the funniest moment... it has to be when we went to the restaurant, probably it was Thursday. Since Anastasia is vegan, she ordered a pizza without mozzarella and cheese and probably was ready to eat a pizza made with eggs too, trying to accept it somehow. But when the pizza arrived, it was completely covered with spinach, broccoli, peppers and tomatoes. It was a pain to watch her forcing herself to eat it, while me and a Portuguese guy, Tomas, were teasing her. We decided to call that mistake "piccha" because someone didn't know how to pronounce "pizza" and we recycled the idea. Or just "salad". Thinking about these moments made me almost forget about the hardest one: the arrival. I literally arrived with flu and I slept for an entire day. I was about to vomit so I didn't have lunch (if we don't consider 4 giant cookies, a "lunch"). And I couldn't breathe. At the end of the day, I missed the visit at the Aquarium because I had to rest. It wasn't really an "hard moment", I don't think I had moments like that but if I have to choose one... that's it. Another hard moment was the departure. It was also the most emotional one but I tried not to cry in front of the others. I don't have much to say about it... I just wanted to stay with them longer. I had just started to know the host family but there wasn't much time left... From this experience I've learned that... speaking is everything. I mean, when a person goes to another country for these kind of projects, he/she should talk with a lot of people and be more curious about them. It's fun to learn something in another language or just talk randomly with someone. And it can also be useful if a person wants to improve his/her English. I was kind of bored sometimes because I wanted to stay with my group but they wanted to talk just with the other Italian guys. I mean, they were surely funny but... I think it’s pointless to travel to another country to improve another language and then talk just with people who know your native language. In the end, I would like to travel again. And next time, I would like to go with my friends... I'm always envious when I see the other delegations since most of the time they're all good friends. I didn't really know the guys from my group, it was fun to stay with them but it would've been funnier with my best friends. I want to share some beautiful moments with them too. Rebecca-San Severo

Memories from Portugal

My trip in Portugal was an experience that I will never forget. It was my first trip in Europe without my parents but I was with three teachers and four friends so it was fine. I was so scared in the beginning because I would be in a new country but I didn’t know that I would make new friends there. We had so many activities there, we visited so many places and we had a great time. The family that hosted me was really nice with me, and they told me that I could go visit them whenever I wanted. Another thing that happened was that the girl that came last year in my home was the girl that hosted me in Portugal! So we already knew each other and I wasn’t stressed like the other kids in my group. When I returned back home I was really sad. I thought how small this week was ant I wish I could stay there one week longer. But I am sure that next year I will visit my friends and see them again! Pauline Charbonnie-Greece

The most exciting moment… This has been my first trip alone and out Italy. There have been many exciting moments but surely among these, there are the flight and the visit to the monastery of Jeronimo.

The funniest moment… The funniest moment has been when I’ve been with Tania(the girl that has entertained me ) to the Science museum. We have had a good time so much.

The hardest moment… The hardest moment has been when we had to present the works that we had brought, because I was afraid I would make mistakes or couldn’t present them properly and no one would understand me.

The most emotional moment… . The most emotional moment has been when we had a party with the families that hosted us and the Erasmus group. In fact we have cried so much I’ve learnt… I’ve learnt that English is important to communicate with people from different cultures, origins and traditions. I would like… I would like to see again the people I have met . Above all: Tania, Paula and the family that has entertained me.

My experience in Amora The experience in Portugal was beautiful. We have done a lot of activities and visited many places. I visited the westernmost point of Europe where there was a lot of wind, the city of Lisbon, Sintra and the castle where I felt like in an enchanted place. The activities we did at school allowed us to make friends, get to know each other, to present our nations. There were exciting, funny, moving moments in those days. I felt a lot of emotions because it was the first time I went abroad and I was scared of staying in an unknown family. There were a lot of funny moments like the closing party because we danced and sang together or when we played the traditional games of every country. The most exciting moments were when we made the excursion to Quinta da Regaleria because we had to cross over water to get to the other side and I was a bit afraid to fall into the water or when we went up to the top of Cristo Rei where there is a beautiful view of Lisbon. The most emotional moment was the departure because I had to say goodbye to everyone while there weren’t hard moments because I felt cheerful and and relaxed all the week long. What impressed me during this experience were the words that Margherida’s mother told me :“I now have a second family”. I thought that people make culture. They made me feel at home. When going to their school, walking with them, staying at the bar or shopping with them I lived everyday life, this is the beautiful thing that makes us equal although we have different customs, traditions, languages . I owe a lot to Erasmus+ programme, it has allowed me to grow up, learn new things, meet people, know new places and appreciate other cultures and traditions. I will not forget my experience in Portugal. I would like to move back because I miss my Portuguese family. This experience will remain forever in my experiential baggage.

My experience in Amora Last week I went to Portugal for an Erasmus+ project meeting with a gruop of students and teachers of my school. It has been a fantastic experience and I enjoyed a lot because I met new people and I made new portughese friends. I arrived in Lisbon on Sunday 20th January. At Lisbon airport there was Cristina who was waiting for us! She took us to the teacher’s hotel where our host families were waiting to go to their houses. When I arrived at the hotel I was really nervous and excited to meet my host family! As soon as I arrived at the hotel I saw Diogo and his mum Edite, they greeted me and we went home. I soon felt like at home because they were so nice and kind to me. When I arrived at home I met Diogo’s father that was kind too, he was like our “taxi driver” because he brought me and my Turkish roommate to visit some towns and beaches especially on the day when I arrived. During the week on Monday, Tuesday and Friday we stayed at school to do the Erasmus activities with the teachers. We talked a lot about “Migration” because it was the topic of the project. On Wednesday we went to Lisbon where we visited important monuments such as the Belém Tower, Monastero dos Jeronimos, Ocenario de Lisbona and one of the most exciting things was getting to the Jesus Christian where I had bird view of Lisbon. On Thursday we went to Sintra, to visit Quinta da Regaleria, a big green place with palaces and gardens. The most exciting moments were to meet new friends and to speak English all the time with foreign students. There were funniest moments too, for example the day when each Country had to present and teach one of the traditional games or sports I had fun a lot because with my group we won the game presented from the Spanish group. The hardest moment was undoubtly to leave my host family who has been for me like my real family for one week. The most emotional moment was, to talk about migration, which is a very touching topic especially these years. By talking about “migration” I’ve learnt so much things about it and I’ve understood how lucky I am to live in Italy. I was impressed by the beautiful landscape. Portugal is a green area with trees, beaches and mountains. I’d like to live there for this reason. I was surprised by the kindness of my host family and one day I hope to go there and visit them. TRIESTE-ITALY 1-5 APRIL 2019

My trip to Trieste, Italy.

On the 31st of March, me and 4 friends from school have gone to Trieste. Trieste is a small town in the northeast of Italy. In my opinion the Erasmus is the most interesting and most educative program ever implanted in the European education because it is important to understand the different cultures and the difficulties in different countries. It was my first time in Erasmus and I enjoyed it a lot. This trip wasn’t really well planned since we had to wait several minutes for them to know where they were supposed to go. Besides that I don’t have any complains I really enjoyed it I would like to be in the program again.

ERASMUS KA 2 “ Culture enriched with migration “ -Trieste Meeting April 2019 CAMILLA NODARI

I am Camilla, I am sixteeen years old and I am in the third class of the Department for Social Studies. My family likes travelling very much and I have visited many countries with my parents hosting people very often. When our teacher told us about the Trieste Meeting we decided to host a student because we like to open our house to people from different country. And I was really lucky because my host student, Maria , is really nice: she comes from Greece, A country I like very much and I visited two yars ago with my parents. We had a lot of fun together sharing the many visits and experiences. In Trieste there is a greek Chuch I visited for the first time in my life ….. And I liked the vist of the Synagoge as well…Thanks to the project I could see my city in a different way understanding that Trieste is a real multicultural city. In the evening we stayed at home talking about the day and laughing a lot! The most amusing experience was the Farewell party: we organised it at school , with music( a D_J!)dance, catering and a lot of fun but at the same time I was really sad when she left and hope to see Maria again in the near future. We are still in contact. I think everybody should do a similar experience: as I told you I am used to travel and meet different people but I think that a host experience is very important because you share everything, home, feelings , ideas.

ERASMUS KA 2 “ Culture enriched with migration “ -Trieste Meeting April 2019 Darina Gabrielli

Hello everybody! I am Darina, I was born in Bulgaria but I have been living in Trieste since I was three years old and Italy is my home…Last April my school hosted the official Erasmus Meeting and I decided to host a Portugiese girl during the meeting..I liked the experience very much because Mariana is very nice and I learnt some word in her language which seems to me very strange and funny.. Obviously English was the language we used to communicate and my parents tried to use it as well.. We share so many experiences together and had a lot of fun. She told me about her school ,( she can speak English very well ),her plan for the future . I like singing very much and I am singing in a group so every day we sang together everywhere especially on the bus going to Aquileia to visit the Basilika, or going to visit the Castle of Miramare We participated into the Competition “ Keep calm sing and dance “ representing our country and I liked this experience very much because music is very important for young people, I can’t live without music and Marian too.I was very proud to represent Trieste with a song and I was very happy to be the winner of the competition… I was very sad when she left and hope to visit her in her beautiful country At the end I think this kind of experiences are very important to open our mind and to understand that we are European citizens and we have common values and common goals. I hope to have the opportunity to host other students and to spend some months in other European countries as an Erasmus student going to university

Memories First and foremost, I want to underline that this trip in Trieste was the best! I am very happy that I participated in this program "Erasmus+". It is a wonderful and unique experience that everyone would like to live. Personally, the greatest time was that all children were divided in groups and played volleyball all together. On the other side, the "bad" time was that we had to say goodbye to each other. Nevertheless, I think that we should keep the nicest moments to remember from the trip. Also, I wish to continue keeping in touch with our new friends and soon to meet again!! Dimitra Getsiou-Greece

ERASMUS KA 2 “ Culture enriched with migration “ -Trieste Meeting April 2019 ELENA GRZINA Last April Trieste hosted the Erasmus Plus KA2 organizing the Meeting. This is a transnatinal project and I had the pleasure to take part in it hosting two guys from Denmark, Nikola and Magnus. My mother was really “ in love “ with them and she was really sad when they left . The most beautiful things about this project is the opportunity of meeting new people from different countries and speak English with them, applying everything we’ve learned; discover different cultures and customs. We did many excursions where the guides were speaking in English and it was very useful. I had to accompany the guys I hosted to the meeting points and most of the time, I did excursions with them and the other guys and teachers included in the project. Furthermore, we also stayed all together in the free time walking, hanging out, joking and laughing a lot. It was very funny I would like to repeat the experience because I love to meet new people, in particular if they have different cultures, in fact in that way you can learn so much about different lifestyles, religions, cultures, and it can help you to open your mind. I would also like to have conversation with people in many languages. I have never been to Denmark and hope one day to visit this beautiful and “ strange country “ so different from our Southern countries. In my opinion thanks to this experience, we always learn something new helpful to our growth.

My trip to Trieste The trip to Trieste was a moment that I had been waiting for since the day I joined the Erasmus team. I had a lot of desires and hopes for this trip like making new friends and also if I were lucky I could see some old faces since when the Greek team hosted the students last year which eventually happened. I had a wonderful time in Trieste, I adored the town’s architecture and design and also all the museums and churches which we visited. My biggest concern was though if I was going to end up in a good family but when I got there I found that they were very hospitable. When we were at home we talked to each other learning things about one another and playing a lot of board games. To conclude I had the time of my life there and I hope that I will get the chance to travel there again in the near future. Jim Stamoulis-Greece

The past 31st of April until the 6th of April was the last Erasmus students trip to Trieste, Italy. For me it was the best trip so far, I loved everything, the city, the school, my host family, my house, the Italian people, the other countries´ people… We did a lot of things, I can´t decide which moment was the funniest but the hardest/most emotional one was in the migration center, I thought it would be boring but turns out that it was a shock to the reality we live and after that I was speechless. With this trip I´ve learnt about other cultures, realities, it was a boost to my knowledge about a lot of things. For the next time I would like to have a longer trip, maybe 10/12 days because I only got to really know the persons on the last days, and I would like to have more organized programs from the part of the host country. Margarida Khan, Portugal

My memories from Trieste From the 1st to the 5th of April an Erasmus+ CEM meeting took place in Trieste. As a student I thought of it to be an amazing experience that will be forever carved in my mind. Through this experience we met many cultures that differ from ours and we learnt for migrants’ cultures and rights in every country that participated in the program. We also made new friends that came to our lives to stay! We shared thoughts with them that we never thought we would have. We felt like being members of a large family. Also, our host families treated us like one of their children and we are thankful for that. Through this meeting we also learnt about Trieste’s history and we observed all the important monuments of the area. In my opinion the happiest moment and the one when we had the most fun was the Farewell Party. Though this was, I believe, the saddest moment too, as we had to say goodbye to all those people that were now an important part of our lives. I think that we all should feel very lucky to have earned such experiences! Mary Chronopoulou-Greece

My erasmus+ experience in Trieste Before leaving for Trieste I was very anxious because I could finally get into my first Erasmus+ experience in another city. The girl who hosted me, Anna Maria immediately made me feel at ease, we have the same tastes, we like the same things, in short she was my soul mate! Her parents were very pretty, they treated me as if I were a second daughter; how to forget their little dog Ginny! I think it was the most welcoming with his way of giving me attention, jumping, wagging his tail and barking. The most exciting moment was getting to know them, they are really a fantastic and close family. Trieste group organized a musical contest called "Keep Calm Dance and Sing" explaining that music is "a universal language that unites people". Italian students together with students from Greece, Denmark, Portugal, Spain, had prepared dances and songs typical of their own country. A jury decided who should win, I was part of this jury together with two other teachers and three boys. The funniest moment was to look at guys, and being a judge to vote for the best performer, to get involved to compete and aspire to a potential victory. I think the most difficult moment was to leave that beautiful atmosphere that we had created together with the other foreign and non-foreign pupils. On the last day a farewell party was organized, so funny but also so painful, to think about the fact that the people you know probably wouldn't see again, even if all those I met will always be in my heart. Despite being distant we will always be close thanks to the social media, which despite the criticism allow us to shorten the distances. From this experience I have learned to be more confident when speaking English and communicating, I have improved my English language. I would like to travel and get to know other nations, I think Erasmus is an excellent opportunity to learn about the world. Francesca-San Severo

My experience in Trieste Before arriving in Trieste, I won’t hide I was a little bit concerned, mostly because sometimes I’m not so confident and shyness could have been an obstacle. When I met the family, I realized it would be like I was imagining in my mind. I was a guest together with my friend Nicola in the same house and that maybe helped me. But that’s not all: the people there were pretty nice, welcoming, kind, especially Alessandro, the guy who hosted us, and his parents and I felt comfortable almost immediately. Even tough, the day after the arrival I was a little bit nervous about the presentation itself, it hadn’t taken too long for me to get used to the atmosphere created. There I started to meet other Italians and the boys and girls that were hosted by them. The time was running, and we were so busy in the activities that I didn’t have the real chance to think about the slice of my life I had left in San Severo for a while. The people and Triste dragged me in a different reality I had never experienced before: I smiled, laughed, enjoyed my time, wandering around Trieste, playing, dancing, singing, and I can tell that, when the day finished, I was totally worn out and this was exactly what made me be satisfied. Unfortunately, the sad and also the toughest moments arrived and the last day before the departure, we had the opportunity to spend one last evening all together, until the moment that we wouldn’t like to see coming arrived. I felt sad about leaving because I wanted to keep going to that rhythm for much longer, but it was not possible. Some of my friends started crying and the worse thing is that we were able to do nothing but a promise, a promise to meet again in the future, if we have the chance, and also the promise to remember all the good things and the good time we had had together. This experience made me think a lot, because I have already heard about the Erasmus projects but I’ve never had the chance to experience in first person what it means. It makes you feel more alive, because it brings out what’s in you and gives you the possibility to get in the game. We have visited Trieste and all the most important locations in the city, but I’ve learnt that what really matters is the people, the emotions, the time you spend together that can create strong friendships, because from the beginning, you know that you’ll have to leave. I would like to repeat this experience, to have the chance to start over, even with the same people, in the same place, because one week is not enough to experience everything you could, for that, one life is not enough neither.

My Erasmus+ experience in Trieste Despite the fact that Alessandro, my host, considers me to be as extrovert as he is shy, I think that the welcome I received from my host family, and he himself, managed to change my prospects. At the beginning I was a bit scared because I didn't know anyone, and I didn't know what Alessandro was like, but with him Mario and I formed a nice little group together. The most exciting moment, for me, was when, with Alessandro, I met the other boys and girls from Trieste who were taking part in the Erasmus, with whom I tightened a beautiful friendship with messages and photos exchange since then. Of course, there were also fun moments, such as every moment spent with them, because, yes, I spent a lot of time together with the "Trieste" group with whom I never got bored, always jokes, always games, never boredom! Among these beautiful moments I cannot forget what I think is "the most exciting" moment . the afternoon spent at the pier, all together relaxing and enjoying that place by the sea at sunset, among the reddish colors, the smell of the sea and a little background music ... While, the worst moment, I think it was, unfortunately, the farewell party, but luckily more than a "farewell", it was a "see you soon", and despite this I cried. I think I learned something especially in the social sphere, to appreciate even more the differences among us and to value them to the point of turning them into a wealth. In conclusion, I would very much like to go back to that week, not to relive the same emotions, but to live different ones, but with the same people which colored my days.

My trip to italy When I was told I’d be going to Italy, I got really excited. A whole week in a foreign country with my friends? Who wouldn’t want that? The departure was on 31st of march, we were all very sleepy but somehow still energetic. We got on the plane and went to visit Venice, it was very hot, but bearable in the shade. We walked around a lot and our legs hurt, but it was worth it. At the end of the day we went to Trieste and got to meet the families that were gonna host us. Mine was extremely nice, we talked a lot and they taught me stuff about their city. We went to a fancy pizza restaurant for dinner where we chatted a bit more, then we headed home where I was shown around. I was tired so I took a shower and went to sleep. The next day we went to an auditorium where we watched the other students’ performances and got to perform ourselves. It was really fun! The rest of the week we visited lots of cool places and also presented the work we had been preparing. Then friday came, we had a party! It was kind of bittersweet to be honest. We were having fun, but we knew it’d be the last day with some of those people, which was really sad. The next day we got up from bed, packed our stuff, went to the airport and flew away, some of us cried before leaving. I gave my host a big hug, I really liked him and the experience, it was awesome. Writing this is even leaving some tears in the corner of my eyes. This was my trip to Trieste, I’ll never forget it.

My trip to Trieste In March 31st, me and 4 friends, 2 boys and 2 girls, went to the city of Trieste, in the northeast of Italy, and we only came back one week later, in April 6th. In Trieste’s meeting, I made lots of new friends from different nationalities, I visited many different places, the food was very good and my host family was really welcoming and nice to me. I enjoyed every single moment of the trip and I hope that someday I can meet those people again.

A week in Trieste The first week of April, three students and Lise Markussen from Viborg Gymnasium & HF went to northern Italy to participate in an Erasmus + week, where the programme focused on religious and intercultural coexistence and tolerance on the one hand and music. The participating countries were, as in the other meetings, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Turkey. The three students, Luna, Nicolas and Magnus, go all three in 2a, a student direction class with music and English at A-level, so they felt well dressed to participate in the singing and performance contest that was set up. The choice had fallen on Tim Christensen's "Right Next to the Right One", and with Nicolas on singing, Magnus on guitar and Luna with dancing, they were ready for a convincing appearance. Unfortunately, the organizers had forgotten to say that the competition was the first program point when we met with the other groups on Monday morning – and that there was not just talk of students sitting together and performing for each other... It turned out that there was a scene with lighting, microphones mm ready for the performers, and when it went according to alphabetical order, and Denmark starts with D, there was no way around: Luna, Magnus and Nicolas had to start the contest and gave it gas. They did not win, but received praise for attitude and performance, and for the remainder of the week, none of the participants had any doubts about where the three Danish students were, because they were always on a songthat spread good atmosphere and smiles. The rest of the week went by visiting castles and runways, in many different churches, Europe's largest synagogue, an asylum centre and much more. One of the highlights was a visit to Italy's only concentration camp from the Second World War, where we got a shaky and vivid impression of the terrible conditions the prisoners in the camp lived under. In addition to the many activities and visits, the participating pupils should also keep a reflection paper on the different religions represented in the participating countries and a reflection paper on the rights of immigrants in Denmark. In addition, a volleyball tournament, Orilework, City Walk and other joint activities were arranged. On the last night, all the participants gathered at the host school, and here there were dancing and music, partly the winner of an essay contest, which the students from the various countries had written in advance and sent in. "And the winner is... Luna from Denmark "– Yes, Luna won with his text â€?we are all different, We are all equal", which was the tied task that everyone had been given. All in all, an eventful trip in which the Danish squad found that there are major cultural differences between countries and that it sometimes requires a deep breathing and a good deal of patience to participate in a program with many coffee breaks and Surprises along the way đ&#x;˜Š
