In a big building in a big city there was an art gallery. People came from all over the world to look at the paintings and sculptures inside.


On an evening like any other evening, the sun was setting, the people were leaving, and the gallery was getting ready to close for the night.


Inside, all the staff were finishing up for the day.

The people in the bookshop were tidying everything away,


tting on the decorators were pu one last lick of paint,

and the cleaners were making sure the whole place was spick and span. Everyone had had a busy day in the gallery. Everyone, that is, except . . .


Mildred

Mildred was the gallery cat, and everyone thought that she was the laziest cat in the world. All day long people would come and go, busy with all sorts of jobs. But no matter what, Mildred would be napping happily in her cosy bed.


But sometimes . . . in the dead of night . . . after everybody had gone home . . .


Mildred snuck into the empty gallery!

She loved to look at all the art, and best of all,

she had it all to herself!


The gallery was full of interesting things to see.

She thought some of the art was a bit confusing, but she liked finding the pictures that had animals in them.


There was art that made her feel happy . . .
