CIS403: Web application Development Assignment and Course Project Instructions: 1. Create a folder and name it as your surname. If two of you in the class have the same surname, come into an agreement so that one of you will use the first name. 2. Inside this folder create another folder, create two folders. 1. MyHomePage. (This folder should hold all files related to your personal home page assignment). 2. CapstoneProject (This folder should hold all files related to your capstone project). 3. Inside each of the folders, create the images folders to store your images. Assignment For your assignment, you are going to create a Personal Home Page. Create the index page for your personal home page and name it index.html and place it in the folder you named as your surname(THE ROOT FOLDER). From here you can link to the pages and images you have placed in the MyHomePage folder. You may design this page in whatever format you want but it must look professional. You are going to tell the whole world about you, and that, you can design web pages. The index page should have a menu to serve as links to things like: • Slide show of some pictures of you, friends and family • Slide show of some buildings and sites at AU • Your CV • A vacation. • AU Home Page. • Some Fun Things • Your Face Book Page • Your Favourite Web Sites • CIS403 CapstoneProject(This should link to the course project index page you put in the CapstoneProject folder as described under Course Project on the next page. • Etc. Use your own intuitive ideas to create a menu, a banner, a professional home page. These are just some suggested ideas. You may use your own intuition to make your work look professional. Capstone Project Guided by major Business-To-Consumer(B2C) and Business-To-Business(B2B) models, you are going to create a commercial web site for any organization of your choice. Study the existing major B2B and B2C models, for the content and use whatever content materials you can get from there. You can copy the contents and use them but do not create a link directly to any of the pages. All your files must be placed in the folder named CapstoneProject and linked Your project will carry more weight if you can approach local institutions and use their company and product profile contents with the hope of eventually commercialising your project. You will find sample company and product profiles on moodle feel free to use them.
