LOT 3 YOUNGOCONNOR

5yo, B, Mare, Kalanisi (IRE) – Strike Three (IRE) (Presenting (GB)) Youngoconnor is being offered for sale having shown notable improvement in three starts on the pointing circuit. The daughter of Kalanisi made her seasonal reappearance at Aghabullogue where she picked up the running before the last and finished a creditable third. Having gained some strong experience on her opening two starts, Youngoconnor’s latest start at Nenagh in January saw her finish runnerup to the improved Lady Writer. Making up ground on the final mile, Youngoconnor progressed to second from the third last fence where she took up the lead approaching the straight and was just headed at the final fence but ran on gamely in what was testing ground conditions. From the family of Grade one winner, Conna Castle, Youngoconnor will surely not be waiting long to enter the winners enclosure.

LOT 4 BALLYDUN OSCAR

6yo, B, Geld, Oscar (IRE) – Calling Classy (IRE) (Good Thyne (USA)) Ballydun Oscar heads to the sales following his success at Killeagh in January on what just his second start between the flags. The six-yearold stepped up from a creditable fifth-placed debut effort at Lisronagh in late-October to gain a deserved victory. Given a waiting ride by Derek O’Connor, the son of Oscar began to take closer order on the final mile before leading at the final fence where he quickened clear from the rest of the field to win by three lengths over his runner-up who had been placed on his three runs this season. Out of a dual hurdle winning mare, Ballydun Oscar showed a likable attitude and looks like a horse that could be a real money spinner for his new connections.

Malinas Jack The son of Malinas stepped up on his debut effort 3rd in the Junior NH Flat Race at Doncaster when placed an eye catching 2nd in the Listed NH Flat Race at Cheltenham on 1 January. LOT 7 BILLAWAY

6yo, B, Geld, Well Chosen (GB) – Taipans Girl (IRE) (Taipan (IRE)) Billaway took the six-year-old geldings’ maiden at Ballinaboola in February on what was his second start between the flags. The son of Well Chosen had one previous run at Borris in December where he came to grief at the penultimate fence when he was disputing the lead. Stepping up from that effort, Billaway chased the leader for much of the race before disputing the lead at the third last fence where he quickened clear on the run-in and went on to win by a comfortable six lengths. From the family of Grade one placed Ballytrim and Jack High, Billaway has shown himself to be a decent youngster and looks like a horse that can make his mark on the track for his new connections.

LOT 10 ALWAYS ON THE BALL

5yo, Ch, Geld, Kapgarde (FR) – Etoile Des Iles (FR) (Starborough (GB)) Always On The Ball has shown plenty of promise on his three starts to date having finished fourth on his debut run at Lisronagh in October behind Getaway Trump. Following up that run, the son of Kapgarde posted another solid display at Kirkistown in November when he finished runner-up behind the hugely exciting Sometime Soon in a competitive four-year-old maiden. The Denis Murphy-trained gelding ran another consistent race on his latest start at Dungarvan in January when he was runner-up to the impressive Pragmatic. Out of Etoile Des Iles who won twice in France, Always On The Ball is a half-brother to two winners in France and is also from the family of the Listed winner Liska’s Dance and Lissitk. Having posted three consistent runs to date, this progressive gelding lost little in defeat and is a very likeable youngster with a lot to offer it seems.

LOT 12 MILLARVILLE

5yo, B, mare, Court Cave (IRE) – Portavoe (IRE) (Pilsudski (IRE))

Millarville made her debut a winning one when she took her five-yearold mares’ maiden at Tyrella in January. The daughter of Court Cave made all the running and jumped notably well throughout. She was joined at the penultimate obstacle by her main rival who exited after the final fence but the Stuart Crawford-trained newcomer had gained the upper hand at that point and quickened clear by eight lengths over her runner-up. One of two newcomers in the race, Millarville is out of a halfsister to the Grade two placed Sheer Genius and the Grade three placed Mendip Express as well as being from the family of the Grade one winner, Fiddling The Facts. Millarville is bred to develop into a smart sort on the track and could prove a profitable purchase for her new connections.

LOT 16 SMITHS CROSS

6yo, B BR, Geld, Westerner (GB) – Blue Supreme (IRE) (Pistolet Bleu (IRE)) Smiths Cross gained a much deserved success at Nenagh in January having been placed on his previous two starts. The Westerner gelding had finished runner-up on his debut at Loughbrickland in November behind Windsor Avenue who has since won his bumper by a wide margin for his new connections. Following on from that run, Smiths Cross ran another solid race to finish third at Mainstown in December. Building on that experience gained in the Autumn, the Aidan Fitzgerald-trained gelding won on his latest start at Nenagh in January. Taking up the lead from the fourth fence, Smiths Cross was never headed and gained a strong advantage approaching the straight where he stayed on well to win by five lengths on what was challenging ground conditions having jumped impeccably throughout. Having held some strong form going into the race, Smiths Cross didn’t disappoint and won in the style of a gelding who is destined for a profitable career on the track.

LOT 17 ENVOI ALLEN

4yo, B, Geld, Muhtathir (GB) – Reaction (FR) (Saint Des Saints (FR))

Envoi Allen made a massive impression when taking his four-year-old maiden at Ballinaboola in February which was run over 2m4f. Disputing the lead for much of the race, the Colin Bowe-trained gelding travelled strongly on the final mile and went on after the third last fence where he quickened clear approaching the final fence and ran out an impressive 10 length winner and in doing so displayed an injection of speed in the closing stages. Out of the two-time winning French mare, Reaction who is a half-sister to the Grade three winner Une Epoque Envoi Allen is also from the family of the talented Mikador and the smart juvenile hurdler, Espoir D’Allen. This eye-catching gelding looks to be a high class addition to the catalogue who should be added to every serious short list.

LOT 18 GOOD AND HARDY 5yo, B, Geld, Westerner (GB) – Kilganey Maid (IRE) (Rudimentary (USA)) Good And Hardy ran with plenty of promise in two starts in competitive fouryear-old maidens’ both in the spring at Knockanard and at Ballindenisk in December where he finished fourth on both occasions. The son of Westerner stepped up on his next appearance to take the four-year-old maiden at Templenacarriga on New Years Eve. Disputing the lead for some of the race, Good And Hardy progressed to lead before the fourth last fence where he soon gained an advantage over his remaining rivals to win by four lengths. Showing great stamina to win in the manner in which he did, Good And Hardy has clearly progressed from each run and used his experience gained in his previous runs to gain a deserved success. This consistent sort who is out of a half-sister to the Grade two winner, In Contrast and the prolific 11-time winner, Templer, he has shown himself to be a decent youngster that is bred to develop into a smart sort on the track and could have a lot to offer to new connections.

LOT 24 TRUCKERS CAILIN

5yo, B, Mare, Curtain Time (IRE) – Truckers Lady (IRE) (Presenting (GB)) Truckers Cailin heads to the sales following her success in the five-andsix-year-old mares’ maiden at Tallow in February. The daughter of Curtain Time made her debut appearance at Boulta in December where she pulled up after the third last fence having made a mistake. Her next start saw her finish fourth to the progressive Lorvon Pearl at Templenacarriga in December. Building on that experience gained on her initial two starts, Truckers Cailin was ridden in mid-division until progressing from the fourth last fence where she went second at the penultimate fence and battled well in the closing stages to lead inside the final 50 yards to secure a half-length win over a mare who was second last time out. From the family of the Grade one placed, Calgary Bay, Truckers Cailin is also from the family of the Grade two winner, The Grey Monk and looks like a mare that could be a real money spinner for her new connections.

LOT 26 NOTACHANCE

4yo, B, Geld, Mahler (GB) – Ballybrownley Hall (IRE) (Saddlers’ Hall (IRE)) The eyecatching Notachance made a very promising debut at Tallow in February when finishing second to Some Operator on the opening weekend of the four-year-old maidens. Notachance disputed the lead for much of the race before being badly hampered after the fifth last fence where he regained his position until giving way to the eventual winner at the final fence and rallied well on the run-in to just lose out by a length at the finish. The Denis Murphy-trained gelding is a son of Mahler who is from the family of the prolific winners Over The Deel and Smarty. Having posted such a strong run, this good-looking gelding lost little in defeat and is a very likeable youngster with a lot to offer it seems.

LOT 27 PRAGMATIC 5yo, Grey, Geld, High Rock (IRE) – Electrostatique (FR) (Charming Groom (FR)) Pragmatic took the five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Dungarvan in January on what was his second start between the flags. Pragmatic had one previous run where he exited at the midway point at Templenacarriga in December. Disputing the running throughout, the French-bred son of High Rock held a strong advantage coming to the final fence where he soon drew clear of the remainder of the field and went on to win with eight lengths over his runner-up. This exciting sort is out of a daughter of the Listed hurdle winner Atreide who bred the Grade two winner, Royal Astarania. From a high class family, Pragmatic showed a likeable attitude and looks like a horse that could be a real money spinner for his new connections.

LOT 28 KENSUKES KINGDOM

5yo, B, Geld, Stowaway (GB) – Hamalata (IRE) (Mujadil (USA))

Kensukes Kingdom stepped up from his debut run at Dromahane in November where he finished fourth to take the five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Tallow in February. Tracking the leader throughout, the son of Stowaway made a bad mistake when producing a challenge at the penultimate fence but maintained his position having stayed on gamely from the final fence to gain a deserved victory by eight lengths with a further six lengths back to the third horse. He is a half-brother to two track winners, as well as being from the family of the Group one winners Timarida and Muhaarar. Kensukes Kingdom looks the sort that will be in the winners’ enclosure again very soon and will provide plenty of entertainment for new connections.

LOT 31 FAMOUS SAYING

4yo, B, Geld, Fame And Glory (GB) – Coolaghmore Yeats (IRE) (Yeats (IRE)) Famous Saying ran a cracker when second on his debut in a four-yearold maiden on what was the opening weekend of this age category at Belharbour in February. The first Irish point-to-point runner to make their debut by the ill-fated Fame and Glory, Famous Saying was waited in rear before making progress on the final mile where the Pat Doyletrained gelding went second approaching the last and made a slight error on landing which lost his momentum in the closing stages but stuck to his task well to finish in the runner up spot. From the family of Mac Three and Hati Roy, Famous Saying is also related to the exciting Grade two novice hurdle winner, Enniscoffey Oscar. Having posted such a strong run, this well-bred gelding lost little in defeat and is a very likeable youngster with a lot to offer it seems.

LOT 32 TURBO

5yo, B, Geld, Getaway (GER) – Snug Bunch (IRE) (Bahhare (USA)) Turbo shaped with plenty of promise on his latest start at Tallow in February when looking like the likely winner of the five-year-old geldings’ maiden only for unseating his rider at the final fence. By the promising sire Getaway, Turbo had made his debut appearance at Dromahane in November where he pulled up but built on that experience gained to lead from flag fall on his latest start and travelled well throughout. Out of the bumper winner, Snug Bunch, Turbo is also from the family of the Group one winner, Stone. When allowing for his progression from his first to second run along with his stamina and attitude this fellow looks like a horse that could provide plenty of entertainment for his new connections.

LOT 33 DLAURO

5yo, B, Geld, Lauro (GER) – Gergovie De Bussy (FR) (Bad Conduct (USA)) Dlauro made his debut a winning one when he took his five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Belharbour in February. The scopey son of Lauro made it a pillar-to-post victory for the Donnchadh Doyle yard having jumped impeccably throughout where he gained lengths over his rivals at each fence. Dlauro quickened clear from the penultimate obstacle and held a 10 length advantage before the final fence where he was eased down to win by six lengths over his runner-up. One of eight newcomers in the race, Dlauro is out of the French winning mare Gergovie De Bussy and having shown such an impressive turn of foot on his debut, it is no surprise that he is a half-brother to three flat winners in France. Also from the family of Usual Time and Mossburn, Dlauro looks like a gelding that can develop into a smart track performer that will have an exciting future inside the rails.

LOT 34 DANSE IDOL

5yo, B, mare Dansant (GB) – Screen Idol (IRE) (Sadler’s Wells (USA)) Danse Idol made her debut a winning one when taking her four-yearold mares’ maiden at Boulta in November. One of nine newcomers in the field, she was ridden patiently throughout before taking closer order at the penultimate fence where she progressed to lead after the final fence where she showed an impressive turn of foot to go away from her runner-up by two lengths. Danse Idol is a half-sister to three winners on the flat in Tough Chic, Call My Number and Honeyblood and she is also from the family of the Group 1 placed Catch A Glimpse and Holiday Dancer. She followed up this impressive display with a very promising effort when placed 2nd in the Mares NH Flat Race at Punchestown 13 January beaten only 1 3/4 lengths by the Willie Mullins trained RELEGATE who is the subsequent winner of the Grade 2 Mares NH Flat Race at Leopardstown on 4 February.

LOT 35 ENVIOUS EDITIOR

4yo, B, Geld, Aizavoski (IRE) – Moll The Rol (IRE) (Beneficial (GB)) Envious Editor made his debut a winning one when taking his four-yearold maiden at Belharbour in February on what was the opening weekend of this age category. Ridden in mid-division for most of the race, Envious Editor made good progress at the penultimate fence where he soon gained the lead on the run to the final fence and kept on gamely in the closing stages to win by four lengths over his runner-up. A first runner and winner for his sire, Aizavoski, Envious Editor is from a track winning family and looks to have the attributes of a horse who could make his mark in a bumper. Given how he travelled with such ease into this event, Envious Editor highlighted himself as a very exciting sort that should be added to all serious short lists at the sales.

LOT 36 ASK DILLON

5yo, B, Geld, Ask (GB) – Mum’s Miracle (IRE) (Luso (GB)) Ask Dillon made a winning reappearance when he took his five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Nenagh in January. Having the experience of one run last season where he finished seventh at Broughshane in a competitive four-year-old maiden, this progressive gelding made little of the testing ground conditions to travel and jump well throughout. He made progress from the third last fence and showed game battling qualities to lead from before the final fence where he stayed on well to win by six lengths. A half-brother to two track winners, Ask Dillon is also from the family of the talented Graded performer Shotgun Paddy. The son of Ask showed a likeable attitude and looks like a horse that could be a real money spinner for his new connections.

LOT 39 SALTY BOY

5yo, B, Geld, Stowaway (GB) – Ballons Oscar (IRE) (Oscar (IRE)) Salty Boy made his debut a winning one when taking his five-year-old maiden at Ballinaboola in February. Ridden patiently until making progress before the fourth fence, Salty Boy produced an effort to lead after the penultimate fence where he stayed on well on the run-in to win by one length over his runner-up. Battling gamely in the closing stages, the son of Stowaway produced the fastest time of the races run over three miles which was eleven seconds faster than the average for the day. Salty Boy is from the talented family of black type winners which includes Black Jack Ketchum, Fota Island and Castlekellyleader to name just a few. LOT 44 CLOONE LADY

6yo, Bay, Mare, Milan (GB) – Cloone Leader (IRE) (Supreme Leader (GB)) Cloone Lady heads to the sales following her success in the five-andupwards mares’ maiden at Belharbour in February on what was her fourth start between the flags. The daughter of Milan had finished second on her debut at Boulta in November and ran another solid race at the same track in December only for exciting the race at the second last fence. Following on from that run, Cloone Lady lined up at Aghabullogue in January and ran another consistent race to finish runner-up to the highly regarded Alsa Mix. Cloone Lady was prominent throughout and progressed to lead from the penultimate fence where she was travelling best of her rivals and went on to secure a three length victory. Out of the track winning Cloone Leader, this game mare looks the sort that will be a real addition to any trainer’s yard in mares’ races over the coming seasons.
