LOT 2 – FANZIO (FR) B.G. Fanzio, on only his second stable start progressed from his hurdling introduction at Catterick when taking the Juvenile Hurdle at Newcastle on 15 January in tenacious fashion for trainer Richard Hobson. Despite still showing signs of greeness throughout the race he really knuckled down after the last to stay on in game style to get up on the line. Only a 4yo the son of Day Flight rates a progressive performer who can now go on to better things.

LOT 5 – MAM TRASNA (IRE) B.G.

Mam Trasna displayed significant improvement from his promising debut run behind the highly regarded Malone Road when taking the Open National Hunt Flat Race at Kelso on 22 January for trainer David Broad. The son of Morozov travelled powerfully throughout the race and moved stylishly into the home straight before staying on well up the hill to win going away under James Bowen. Out of a half-sister to COLONEL BRAXTON he looks to posses all the necessary attributes to make up into a very useful performer over obstacles for new connections.

LOT 6 – DONNIE BRASCO

Donnie Brasco made the perfect start between the flags for the Tom and Gina Ellis team when running out the winner of the Open Maiden at Alnwick on 6 January. The son of Buck's Boum tracked the runaway leader in second and could be called the likely winner along way from home. He jumped and travelled well before reeling in the leader four from home and taking up the running to clear away and win well. An embryonic chaser he looks to have a bright future under rules.

LOT 8 – WHATSUPWITHYOU (IRE) B.G. The Denis Murphy-trained Whatsupwithyou, got off the mark at just the third time of asking when taking the five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Tyrella. Having made his debut in December, this son of Shantou has improved with each start and was certainly not winning out of turn here having finished a fine second on his previous run. Ridden in mid-division by Jamie Codd, the winner was notably quick over his obstacles and made good progress into the race along the back straight, before picking up the advantage on the run to the last fence. While left clear by his closest pursuer at this point the €30,000 store was well in command in any case and the bay galloped resolutely to the line to win in impressive fashion. From a family of winners, this likable sort could be progressive under rules.

LOT 9 – SHALLOW RUN (IRE) CH.M. Shallow Run has improved with each of her three starts to date and lost little in defeat, when finishing a fine second on her last start at Ballyvodock. The daughter of Sholokhov was given a positive ride by Luke Murphy and held every chance jumping the final fence. While thefive-year-old couldn’t quite peg back the eventual winner on the run to the line, she was only beaten two lengths in what was a solid mares’ maiden. Out of a four-time winning mare, Colin Motherway’s charge will surely shed her maiden tag before long for new connections.

LOT 10 – RAPID RAIDER (IRE) CH.G. Rapid Raider posted a very taking front running performance when taking the 14-runner, five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Ballinaboola on his debut. Ridden by James Kenny for his father Liam, the chestnut jumped well at the head of proceedings and was battling on gamely when his closest pursuer departed at the final fence. However take nothing away from this performance, as the winner held the advantage in any case and certainly showed no signs of stopping when galloping on resolutely to the line, recording a five-length success. This ₏20,000 store is out of a half-sister to a Grade 3 winner and could well develop into a very smart performer under rules.

LOT 12 – LADY BREFFNI (IRE) BR.M.

Dermot McLoughlin has a good record of producing smart mares and he looks to have another promising sort on his hands in the form of Lady Breffini who ran out a wide margin winner on her debut in a mares’ maiden at Oldtown. The debutant was given a patient ride by Noel McParlan before quickly pulling clear of the field from the penultimate obstacle. The daughter of Yeats only had to be shaken up on the run to the last before pulling away to the line on the bridle. This exciting fiveyear-old certainly posted a visually impressive performance here and considering her dam was a prolific winner, this mare could well progress into a decent performer between-the-rails.

LOT 13 – TELMESOMETHINGGIRL (IRE) B.F.

The Colin Bowe-trained Telmesomethingirl became the first graduate to win from the inaugural Tattersalls May Store Sale when taking the fouryear-old maiden at Ballinaboola. This was a taking performance from the daughter of Stowaway who was competing against geldings in this contest. Given a positive ride by Barry O’Neill, this good jumping debutant showed a nice turn of foot in the closing stages win in good fashion. This well-bred four-year-old was a €39,000 purchase and is a half-sister to two winners including the Noel Meade-trained Mullaghanoe River and Too Many Chiefs, a six-time winner rated 125 over hurdles for Sharon Watt. Going forward she could well make into a top-class performer against her own sex on the track proper.

LOT 14 – CASEY JEM (IRE) B.G. Casey Gem off the mark at the second time of asking when taking the five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Tallow for handler Richard Black. The son of Jeremy was running a big race on his debut in a four-year-old maiden at Ballindenisk when coming down at the final fence, when looking booked for third. Given positive ride by Luke Murphy at Tallow, the five-year-old looked to be getting the better of his closest pursuer at the final fence when the latter came to grief. This left the dark bay to come home a distance clear of the eventual second in a race which was run nine seconds faster than the days average. Out of a half-sister to former Galway Plate runner-up Casey Top, this decent looks prospect should make a successful transition to the track proper in the future.

LOT 15 – THE GREY FALCO (FR) CH.G.

The Grey Falco certainly caught the eye in the preliminaries of the fouryear-old maiden at Ballinaboola, as he is quite a good-looking grey. The French-bred is by Falco, who also sired Triumph Hurdle winner Peace and Co. Trained by Denis Murphy, the debutant was given a patient ride by Jamie Codd before catching the eye travelling ominously well into the home straight. The four-year-old had yet to be asked to his effort and certainly held every chance when knuckling at the back on the penultimate obstacle and coming to grief. This half-brother to two winners, could potentially be an interesting sort going forward, as there may be plenty more to come from this four-year-old.

LOT 17 – DEPLOY THE GETAWAY (IRE) B.G. Deploy The Getaway made a lasting impression when running out a wide margin winner if the four-year-old maiden at Tallow. The son of Getaway bounced out in front and set a relentless gallop under James Walsh, jumping impressively. The debutant pulled clear of the field from three-out and with none of his eleven rivals being able to land a blow, this exciting prospect came home 20 lengths clear of the field. Donnchadh Doyle’s charge is an imposing sort and this was a hugely impressive performance. From the family of Special Tiara this four-yearold looks to potentially be a very high-class performer under rules.

LOT 19 – ZERO TO HERO (IRE) CH.F. The Eddie Power-trained Zero To Hero was doing her best work at the finish when finishing runner-up in the four-year-old maiden at Ballinaboola. The daughter of Arakan, who sired a four-year-old winner in the Autumn, was given a patient ride by Evan Dwan. The chestnut was still to be asked for her effort jumping the penultimate obstacle and after side stepping a faller at this point, the debutant picked up well on the run to the last, ultimately rallying to get within three lengths of the winner at the line. Considering she has a host of geldings’ in behind, there is certainly more to come from this likeable sort.

LOT 20 – OFFTHESHOULDER (IRE) B.G. Off The Shoulder made a winning debut in the five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Oldtown for the Sean Doyle yard. Given a positive ride by Barry O’Neill the son of Gold Well jumped fluently throughout and pulled clear with the winner from two-out. The debutant displayed a very willing attitude and belied any inexperience when battling on gamely in the closing stages. The five-year-old came home a length clear of a well fancied sort and certainly appears to be a decent looking prospect. From a family of winners, this debutant could be a progressive sort under rules.

LOT 21 – SILVER SHEEN (GB) B.G. Silver Sheen got off the mark at the second time of asking when taking the five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Ballyvodock for Paul Cashman. Ridden in mid-division the son of Sulamani found plenty for pressure in the closing stages, showed a very likable attitude to taste his first success. It is worth noting that this maiden was run ten seconds faster than the day’s average time, while there was also a couple of previously placed sorts in behind. By the same sire as Aintree Grand National winner – Rule The World, this good-looking bay looks likely to be well capable of continuing his progression under rules for new connections.

LOT 22 – TAREESHAR (IRE) B.G.

Tareeshar showed a game attitude under Declan Lavery to take the fiveyear-old geldings’ maiden at Oldtown for handler Patrick Turley. The son of Morozov was certainly not winning out of turn here having finished a fine second on his only other start in a four-year-old maiden around Kirkistown in the Autumn. Having cut out much of the running, the bay picked up well in the home straight, before battling hard to see off a couple of strong challengers on the run to the line. This was quite a competitive contest, with the third horse Willie Butler, also bringing strong four-year-old form to the table. Going forward this likable sort should have no problem making his mark felt under rules.

LOT 23 – THEFLICKERINGLIGHT (IRE) B.M.

Colin Motherways five-year-old mare, Theflickeringlight is unbeaten in her two starts between-the-flags this season. The daughter of Flemensfirth was an impressive winner on her debut at Aghabullogue and followed up on that success when taking a winners race at Ballyvodock just two weeks later. This tough sort put in an exhibition of jumping on this occasion in a prominent position, staying on gamely to see-off another very smart mare. The runner-up has also subsequently won in impressive fashion. This close relation to General Braxton, looks to have plenty of pace and could well make a very smart mare under rules.

LOT 25 – BOLD ASSASSIN (IRE) B.G.

Bold Assassin was only beaten a short head on his debut in the fouryear-old maiden at Oldtown, having made much of the running under Jamie Codd. This well-bred son of Golden Lariat injecting pace into the race from the third last and still held every chance jumping the final fence, to his credit the bay rallied all the way to the line just getting touched off in the dying strides. With the front pair having pulled eight lengths clear of the third horse, this good-looking sort lost little in defeat here and is certainly an exciting prospect going forward.

LOT 26 – AIN’T THAT A SHAME (IRE) B.G.

Ain’t That A Shame posted a very credible debut performance when only beaten a short head on his debut in a competitive five-year-olds geldings’ maiden at Kilfeacle. Ridden by Ray Barron, the son of Jeremy was never too far away from the pace and travelled very smoothly into the contest to pick up the advantage on the run to the last. Shirley Berry’s charge soon opened up a four length advantage but having jumped the final fence, the debutant tired markedly on the run to the line and was collared in the dying strides. This can easily be excused from what is clearly a talented type and this well-bred sort can go on to be an exciting prospect between-the-rails.

LOT 27 – IN TOO DEEP (IRE) B.G.

Cormac Doyle looks to have a very smart prospect on his hands in the form of In Too Deep who ran out a facile winner of the five-year-old geldings’ maiden ay Belharbour. The nine-runner contest was run at a decent gallop throughout, as was evident with the winning time being 15 seconds faster than the day’s average. The winning son of Malinas travelled very smoothly into the contest before picking up readily on the run to the last, a fine jump here sealed victory for the debutant who would well make into a high-class prospect on the track proper.

LOT 28 – GOODOLDTIMES (IRE) B.G.

Goodoldtimes was only beaten a head in what looked a competitive five-

year-old geldings’ maiden at Oltown. Trained by Denis Murphy the son of Gold Well was making his debut here and separated two more experienced individuals in the finish. Out of a half-sister to Gold Cup winner Imperial Commander, the imposing bay was ridden in mid division by Jamie Codd before travelling strongly into the contest. To his credit the €32,000 August sale graduate stayed on strongly in the in the closing stages, only failing by the narrowest of margins. This was a very promising introduction from an individual who may well progress into a useful sort under rules.

LOT 30 – THE THREE WIZARDS (GB) B.M.

The Three wizards made a lasting impression when taking the five and six-year-old mares’ maiden in very impressive fashion on her debut at Ballinaboola. The John Paul Brennan-trained daughter of Oscar caught the eye jumping and travelling well in mid-division throughout, before cruising into contention turning-in. Asked for her effort having jumped the penultimate obstacle, this straight forward sort soon quickened clear under a hands and heels ride from John O’Neill. It is worth noting that this was a truly run contest, run a full 10 seconds faster than the days average. Both the third and fifth placed finishers had previous placed form adding depth to the contest. Out of a five-time winning dam, this winning five-year-old looks like she could progress into a very exciting sort for new connections.

LOT 31 – FADO DES BROSSES (FR) B.G. Pat Doyle has a fantastic record around Belharbour and the Tipperary handler unleashed another smart looking prospect in the form of Fado Des Brosses, who took the four-year-old maiden in impressive fashion. The son of Balko was given a waiting ride by Johnny Barry and while the final fence faller Goaheadwiththeplan may have got first run, the successful debutant picked up well on the run to the last, regaining the advantage when the afore mentioned came to grief at the final fence. The bay certainly showed no signs of stopping on the run to the line, coming over 15 lengths clear on the eventual runner-up. From a family of winners, this French-bred cost ₏45,000 as a store and he now looks likely to develop into a top-class prospect under rules.

LOT 32 – FAVORI DE CHAMPDOU (FR) B.G. Favouri De Champdou finished a fine second in the four-year-old maiden at Kirkistown on his debut for the Warren Ewing yard. The French-bred son of Saddler Maker was given a positive ride by Rob James and came out of the pack to chase the eventual winner after jumping two-out. The good-looking bay was making encouraging headway on the run to the last, where having jumped the obstacle the debutant he slipped and slithered on landing which cost a good deal of momentum. However, this likeable sort regathered himself, before staying on to finish a clear second. It certainly looks like there may well be more to come from this prospect.

LOT 33 – DO WANNA KNOW (IRE) B.G. Do Wanna Know finished second on his only start to date in the fiveyear-old geldings’ maiden at Boulta last Month. The son of Frammassone was ridden in mid-division before coming to challenge at the penultimate obstacle. A mistake at the final fence did not help his chances, however the five-year-old stuck to his task well and was the only runner which looked likely to trouble an impressive winner. In a 14runner contest, which was run 10 second faster than the days’ average this was a likable debut from a gelding who is sure to make his impact felt on the racecourse proper.

LOT 35 – GOLD DES BOIS (FR) CH.G. Gold Des Bois got off the mark at the second time of asking in the fiveyear-old geldings’ maiden at Kirkistown, having been desperately unlucky to come to grief at the final fence at Templenacarriga on his debut. The French-bred had held every chance on that occasion and he fulfilled that promise to run out a very taking winner under Jamie Codd on his second attempt. The son of Full of Gold picked up the running exiting the back straight and pulled clear on the run to the last, before going on to oblige by almost two lengths. Trained by Peter Fahey this looks to be a high class individual in the making.

LOT 36 – WIDE RECEIVER (IRE) B.G. Wide Receiver showed a very impressive turn of foot when taking the four-year-old maiden at Cragmore for Cormac Farrell. Making his debut here, the winner always caught the eye travelling well before hitting the front three-out. The son of Sholokhov quickly opening up a ready advantage, quickly pulling well clear of his rivals from two-out. Simon Cavanagh mount quickened away to the line, coming home an impressive eight lengths clear of the field. With a couple of well thought of sorts in behind, this certainly looks to be a high class four-year-old who could potentially be high class under rules.

LOT 37 – OSCAR ROBERTSON (IRE) B.G. Oscar Roberston was sent off favourite on his second start in the fiveyear-old geldings’ at Cragmore, having shaped pleasingly on his debut at Boulta in December when getting brought down at the last. Ridden by Mikey O’Connor on this occasion, the son of Oscar was given a patient ride before making eye catching progress to lead after the third last. David Fitzgerald’s charge looked the winner from two-out however having been joined at the last, he appeared to tire a little on the run to the line. To his credit the bay was only beaten a length and considering there should be plenty of improvement to come, he lost little in defeat here. This likable sort will surely shed his maiden tag before too long for new connections.

LOT 38 – LOWTOWN CHARLIE (IRE) B.G. Stuart Crawford’s Lowtown Charlie finished a fine second on his only start, behind a smart looking sort in the five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Kirkistown. Given a patient ride by Ben Crawford the debutant made eye catching heading from the penultimate obstacle. LOT 39 – GOAHEADWITHTHEPLAN (IRE) B.G. Goaheadwiththeplan was somewhat unlucky to come to grief when running a big race on his debut in the four-year-old maiden at Belharbour. Ridden by Rob James, the bay jumped notable well before showing a very smart turn of foot from the penultimate obstacle. The son of Stowaway soon pulled almost two lengths clear of the field, before appearing to tire a little on the run to the last, where he was very unlucky to come to grief when still very much in contention. LOT 41 – ON THE SHORT LIST (GB) CH.G On The Short List made his only start a winning one when taking the four-year-old geldings’ maiden at Boulta in December for Ellen Doyle. The son of Robin Des Champs was ridden by Barry Stone on this occasion and having been given a patient ride, the debutant cruised into contention turning into the home straight. From here the chestnut stayed on gamely to see off a couple of likable sorts. Having cost €19,000 as a foal, Ellen Doyle charge is an imposing sort who should progress into a top-class performer for new connections.

LOT 42 – WILLIE BUTLER (IRE) B.G. Willie Butler has shaped very promisingly on his two starts to date for handler Peter Flood, finishing placed on both occasions. The son of Yeats was only beaten two lengths on his debut in a four-year-old maiden in December at Tattersalls, having stayed on very well late in the day behind a decent looking prospect. This good-looking sort was then only beaten half a length in third, on his next start in a five-year-old maiden at Oldtown, in a contest which did not entirely play to his strengths. It would appear that this half-brother to the 140 rated Mulcahy’s Hill would relish a relish a stiffer test of stamina as he was doing his best work at the finish here. Going forward this promising fiveyear-old looks likely to make a big impression under rules.

LOT 43 – ALFA MIX (GB) B.G. The Mathew Flynn O’Connor-trained trained Alfa Mix was desperately unlucky when coming to grief when holding every chance at the penultimate obstacle in the four-year-old maiden at Ballinaboola. The imposing son of Fair Mix made must of the running, jumping with notable fluency. The debutant still held the advantage jumping three-out and was very much in contention when he got in a little tight and fell two-out. It certainly appears the Harley Dunne-ridden gelding may well have been involved in the finish. This August Sale graduate is related to a share of winners and may well develop into a smart prospect in the future.

LOT 45 – WHEN YOU’RE READY (IRE) GR/RO.G. When Your Ready made a very favourable impression when finishing second on his debut at Belharbour. Ridden by Chris O’Donovan the good looking grey was ridden in mid division, before coming to throw down a strong challenge after the second last. The son of Malinas held every chance on the run to the last and while he could not quite peg back the winner at the last, this debutant galloped all the way to the line, finishing a fine second to what looks an above average sort. This was a very encouraging start to the career of this €32,000 store, who should have no problem graduating to the track proper where success can follow.

LOT 47 – ACHY BREAKY HEART (IRE) B.M. Achy Breaky Heart got off the mark at the second time of asking when taking the five-year-old mares’ maiden at Tyrella for Shane Byrne by an impressive fifteen lengths. The daughter of Milan showed plenty of promise on her debut when finishing third at Tinahely and showed a nice level of improvement to win a fortnight later. Ridden by Harley Dunne, the five-year-old was given a positive ride and jumped notable well throughout. The Landrover Sale graduate showed a nice turn of foot from the penultimate obstacle to win going away and should have no problem transferring this ability under rules.
