ERIC ALLAIN CLUB DIRECTOR Our summer projects are nearing completion with only a couple of minor items remaining. The rebuild of the greens on Holes #5 and #13 are finished, and we are in the process of growing in the turf. The next and final step of the rebuild is the installation of bunker liner and sand. The shape and size of both greens is exactly what we had anticipated, and we are on track for an Oct. 1 opening. We also leveled several tees on the course this summer. They have been sodded and should be open for play around mid-September. We appreciate everyone’s patience during the construction process this summer. We have also installed a SubAir system to help keep our turf healthy and strong, particularly during the cooler winter months. SubAir allows us to draw fresh air through the surface of the greens through our existing subsurface drainage system, while exhausting the stale gases that accumulate in the root zone and in the drainage “pipes” of the putting greens. This fresh air promotes root growth and leaf growth on the plant. This system has been around for many years and has proven itself to be a great, although expensive, tool. We look forward to seeing you all at the Club. Until next time, all the best.

GOLF NEWS GREGOR JAMIESON Although the warm weather is still here, it’s not too soon to begin planning for our upcoming winter season. Our official winter season kicks off with our Autumn meeting scheduled Nov. 19 - 21. It is a wonderful weekend, not just from a golf standpoint, but also from a social aspect. You’ll be receiving invitations to this great tournament very soon, and we encourage you to submit your entries as soon as you receive your invitations. It’s also the right time of year to assess your equipment needs for the upcoming season. Examine the loft and lies of the irons, as well as the condition of your grips. Ask our staff for advice about customizing grips to accommodate your hand size. The pro shop carries a wide selection of grips to choose from this time of year, and we’re happy to help you select the one that’s right for you. Over the summer months, we installed new fixturing in the pro shop to enhance your shopping experience. Our merchandise is now easier to see and access and our displays are more visually appealing. We look forward to introducing you to our new products over the winter months. If you have any questions about upcoming events, please call the pro shop. We look forward to seeing you around the Club.
