n año más el número de octubre en Taxi Magazine tiene claro color de artes escénicas. Nuestro especial "teatros" inaugura el otoño de modo oficial en la cartelera madrileña.

Como es habitual lo hacemos acompañados del Festival de Otoño, que en una nueva edición se prepara para sorprender a los madrileños con un programa que se moverá desde la performance hasta el teatro clásico.

Pasearemos por el Teatro Bellas Artes que muestra lo mejor del teatro andaluz en Andalucía a Escena, por el Teatro Amaya donde continúa su éxito Mujer busca hombre que aún no existe, el éxito es denominador común en Sexos en La Latina, nos asomaremos a la programación del Auditorio de la Universidad Carlos III. Lejos de Madrid, repasamos el Festival de Teatro Iberoamericano en Cádiz y las sorpresas que nos depara el teatro de la Laboral en Gijón.

One more year, the October issue of Taxi Magazine is dedicated to the scenic arts. Our theatre special issue officially launches Madrid's Autumn theatre season. As is now customary, the Autumn Festival's new edition promises to surprise the audiences with a program ranging from performances to classical pieces.

We will visit the Bellas Artes theatre to watch the very best of Andalusian theatre in the form of the play entitled 'Andalucia a Escena'; the Amaya theatre where the successful 'Woman' continues looking for an un-existing man; the winning 'Sexos' in La Latina theatre; and we will take a close look at the Carlos III University's Auditorium. Outside Madrid, we will revise the Iberoamerican Theatre Festival in Cadiz, and will enjoy with the surprises of the Laboral Theathre in Gijón Our editors have practised cultural tourism with this number and have visited León, Menorca, Calatayud, Vitoria-Gateiz, Guadalajara and Toledo to offer our readers a wide range of possibilities.

El Expreso de La Robla es la gran novedad de Feve para el año 2010. La empresa es el líder español en turismo ferroviario, y todo un referente a nivel internacional a la hora de poner en marcha paquetes turísticos en los que el tren es el protagonista. Ejemplo de ello es El Transcantábrico, junto a otros trenes como El Tren Histórico con dos itinerarios en Vizcaya y dos en Cantabria, El Tren del Cantábrico, con dos rutas en Asturias, y El Tren Costa Verde, con recorrido en León y otro de fin de semana en Galicia. A su dilatada experiencia a la hora de organizar trenes turísticos, Feve añade la fortuna de contar con un trazado que une los más espectaculares paisajes con los atractivos monumentales de algunas de las zonas culturalmente más ricas de España.

El nuevo producto de Feve está ideado para realizar un crucero de cuatro días y tres noches en un tren que aúna el clasicismo de su aspecto con las comodidades más modernas. Toma su nombre, "El Expreso de La Robla", de la emblemática línea León - Bilbao, construida a finales del siglo XIX. Precisamente ambas ciudades constituyen los extremos geográficos de uno de los trayectos del Expreso de La Robla, mientras que el otro recorrido se realizará por tierras gallegas.

El Expreso de la Robla is the main novelty of Feve touristic trains for 2010. The company is the Spanish leader in the rail tourism, and a hole international reference to set off touristic packages having the train as the main protagonist. The new product of Feve is thought to make a four days and three nights cruise in a train that comes together its classical appearance and the most modern comforts. El Expreso de la Robla takes its name from the emblematic service from León to Bilbao, built at the end of the XIXth century. Both cities are the geographical ends of one of the journeys of El Expreso de la Robla, whereas the other journey will take place in Galician lands.

Hay que resaltar que 2010 es Año Santo Compostelano, y el Itinerario Jacobeo recorrerá algunos de los hitos del Camino Norte de Santiago, para llegar, cual peregrinos, a la capital de Galicia.

El alojamiento es en compartimentos equipados todos ellos con dos camas-literas, armario ropero, portamaletas, luz de lectura, climatización, hilo musical y megafonía, telefonía y otras comodidades, todo en un ambiente moderno y juvenil. Cada compartimento tiene su propio cuarto de baño completo, con ducha de hidromasaje, lavabo y secador de pelo.

Todo el tren está conectado interiormente, con lo que el viajero puede recorrerlo de principio a fin sin salir al andén.

Además, para descansar con la mayor comodidad el tren permanecerá parado en la estación durante toda la noche hasta la salida del día siguiente. Algo que no deja de ser una tentadora oportunidad para disfrutar sin prisas de los atractivos nocturnos de cada una de las paradas del recorrido, al estar situadas las estaciones en los centros neurálgicos de los pueblos y ciudades.

Los dos trayectos previstos se realizarán en épocas distintas del año. En primavera y otoño (marzo a junio y septiembre a noviembre) el tren recorrerá Castilla y León, con el "Itinerario de La Robla", saliendo desde Bilbao para alcanzar León y retornar de nuevo a la capital vizcaína. En verano (junio a septiembre) se recorrerán las tierras de Galicia con el "Itinerario Jacobeo", partiendo desde Gijón para llegar a Santiago, en pleno Año Santo, y regresar finalmente a Gijón pasando por A Coruña.

El precio en ambos casos es de 690 euros por persona en compartimento doble, y de 850 euros en compartimento individual. Incluye tres noches de alojamiento a bordo del tren, tres cenas y tres comidas de gastronomía típica (con vinos y cafés), tres desayunos a bordo del tren con buffet libre, las excursiones programadas con las entradas y visitas incluidas, prensa diaria y revistas, guía multilingüe durante todo el recorrido, servicio de seguridad, y el autocar que acompaña al tren durante todo el recorrido.

Vitoria es una de ellas. Su incesante crecimiento, no geográfico sino en atractivo, la señalan como paso obligado para el buen viajero. Arte, gastronomía, paisaje y un centro histórico inigualable son objeto de la admiración de aquel que se para en las calles de Vitoria-Gasteiz.

El encanto del casco viejo de la capital alavesa, presidido por la Catedral Vieja de Santa María, ejerce desde hace muchos años como uno de los principales reclamos. El entramado de sus calles nos abre la puerta a la historia, a los secretos que durante el paso de los siglos marcaron a numerosos escritores como Víctor Hugo, y en la actualidad a plumas tan célebres como Ken Follet o Vargas Llosa.

Es necesario pasear por la almendra medieval o, mejor incluso, dejarse llevar por sus calles e ir deparando uno tras otro en los palacios renacentistas que se han llenado de actividad con sus nuevos usos sociales y culturales.

Algunos de ellos son la Casa del Cordón o el Palacio de Montehermoso. En nuestra ruta por sus calles no podemos olvidar los rincones más representativos como la Plaza de la Virgen Blanca o el ensanche Neoclásico.

There are cities that know themselves to be worldwide destinations. Vitoria is such a city. Its uninterrupted growth, in terms of allure not size, make it a must-see for discerning travellers. Art, gastronomy, scenery and a remarkable historic centre inspire the admiration of those who take time to explore the streets of Vitoria-Gasteiz.

The enchanting historic centre of Vitoria, the capital of the province of Álava, presided over by the Vieja de Santa Maria Cathedral, has been one of the main attractions for many years. Its maze of streets provides a window on its history, on the secrets which over the centuries left their imprint on many writers such as Victor Hugo, as well as on such wellknown contemporary authors as Ken Follett or Vargas Llosa.

One must stroll through the antique part of the city or, better still, wander along its streets, stopping at all the Renaissance palaces, now filled with new activities as a result of their new social and cultural uses. Some of these include the Casa del Cordón or the Montehermoso Palace. As we make our way along the streets of Vitoria, we mustn't forget its most representative spots, such as the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca or the Neoclassic expansion area.

Durante los doce meses del año la programación cultural de la ciudad no deja indiferente a nadie. Hay algunas citas imprescindibles como el Festival Internacional de Teatro, celebrado a finales de octubre o el mundialmente famoso, Festival de Jazz con fechas en julio.

En el ámbito cultural, como oferta fija la ciudad gasteiztarra cuenta con una de las maravillas arquitectónicas de este siglo. El nuevo Museo de Arqueología, llamado BIBAT, bajo el diseño Patxi Mangado, ha integrado su esqueleto con la arquitectura del Palacio de Bendaña. La singularidad vanguardista del BIBAT y sus líneas rectas contrastan con el arte renacentista del Palacio. Todo ello en pleno centro histórico de la ciudad. Muestra una exposición de más de 1.500 piezas articuladas que recorren la historia de Álava hasta la Edad Media. Su compañero arquitectónico acoge el Museo Fournier de Naipes de Álava una cita ineludible para conocer la evolución del naipe con barajas de todos los continentes.

Regardless of the time of year, the city's cultural programming never fails to impress. Must-sees include the International Theatre Festival, which takes place at the end of October, or the world-famous Jazz Festival in July.

In the cultural sphere, one of the Basque city's permanent offerings consists of one of this century's architectural marvels. The new Archaeology Museum, known as the BIBAT, designed by Patxi Mangado, has integrated its framework with the architecture of the Bendaña Palace. The special avant-guarde nature of the BIBAT and its straight lines contrast with the Palace's renaissance art. All of this is to be found in the heart of the city's historic centre. It showcases an exhibition of more than 1,500 articulated pieces which cover the history of Alava up to the Middle Ages. Tras dejar el BIBAT, el interés artístico encuentra cobijo en ARTIUM. El Centro-Museo Vasco de Arte Contemporáneo presenta casi 3.000 obras, en las que se pueden apreciar las distintas técnicas de creación contemporánea. Casi como una continuación a sus obras expuestas nos encontramos con su restaurante, Cube, que merece que probemos allí los productos más frescos de la tierra.

Pero como es tradición en toda Euskadi, entre cultura y paseos es necesario pararse a saborear su excelente gastronomía. Los bares de pintxos y restaurantes salpican las calles del centro medieval, ofreciendo sabores tradicionales, cocina de autor, e incluso sorpresas como alguna cena teatralizada.

La regeneración del casco medieval le ha dado un impulso más a una ciudad que se sabe especial, completa y abierta a todos durante los 365 días del año.

After leaving the BIBAT, ARTIUM stands as another sanctuary in which to indulge one's artistic interests. The Basque Contemporary Art Museum-Centre houses nearly 3,000 works, in which different contemporary creation techniques can be appreciated. We then find ourselves in the museum's restaurant, which is almost a extension of the museum's exhibits. Stopping there to savour the freshest products which the land has to offer is time well spent.

However, in keeping with tradition throughout the Basque country, one must take a break from culture and exploration to savour the region's excellent cuisine. Pintxos bars and restaurants are scattered throughout the medieval centre, offering traditional dishes, signature cuisine and even surprises such as a dinner accompanied by theatre. The restoration of the medieval quarter has given yet another boost to a city which knows that it is special, has everything you could expect from a city and is open to all throughout the year.

León leyenda y memoria es la propuesta que la Concejalía de Turismo ha puesto en marcha con el fin de descubrir al visitante los rincones más inéditos de la ciudad. Este folleto contiene dieciséis itinerarios que permiten conocer espacios emblemáticos a través de leyendas o curiosidades que han tenido lugar a lo largo de los siglos.

De esta forma, el turista será quien se marque su propia ruta, el horario y todo de manera gratuita. Además de las rutas, se incluye un mapa con los puntos de interés y un cuaderno del viajero donde plasmar las impresiones y notas dignas de recuerdo. Las aventuras de la taberna del tío joroba en la calle matasiete o la caída de un jinete galo durante la Guerra de la Independencia por las escalerillas de la Plaza Mayor son sólo algunas de las anécdotas que se incluyen y que forman parte de la historia viva de León.

León, legend and memory is the Tourism Department proposal for acquainting tourists with the city's best kept secrets. This leaflet contains sixteen routes which will enable the visitor to find out about emblematic spaces through legends or interesting events which have taken place over the centuries. In this way, the tourist will be the one who sets up his own route, schedule and all other details, free of charge. In addition to the routes, a map with sites of interest and a notebook in which the visitor can record his impressions and other notes worth remembering are included. The history of Tío Joroba's Inn on Matasiete Street, or the fall of the French horseman down the steps in the Plaza Mayor during the War of Independence are just some of the anecdotes included, which are part of León's living history.

Una joya en la historia de la Comarca de la Comunidad de Calatayud es la Ruta del Cid en sus tierras. Siguiendo el Barranco de Hoya Bardón se llega hasta la villa de Ariza, próspera ciudad que en la Edad Media se constituía como cabeza de aldeas. Es de paso obligado seguir el trayecto que pasa por Cetina, con su gran palacio señorial, Alhama de Aragón, Bubierca y Castejón de las Armas, hasta llegar a Ateca.

Si dejamos el Jalón a la derecha, entre Ateca y Terrer encontramos los pocos restos de lo que fue el castillejo de Alcocer, desde donde se disfruta de una preciosa vista del valle, para pasar después por Terrer y partir a Calatayud, que conserva aún grandes muros y torreones de la época del Cid. Tomando la cuenca del Jiloca nos toparemos con lugares como Paracuellos de Jiloca, Maluenda, Velilla, Morata y Fuentes de Jiloca, Montón y Villafeliche.

La Red Menorca Monumental está integrada por una treintena de monumentos de titularidad diversa. La Fundació Destí Menorca la coordina con el objetivo de emprender acciones conjuntas para dar difusión a los recintos preparados para la visita cultural.

Visitar los monumentos que forman parte de esta red es conocer de primera mano los testigos de nuestra historia; desde los yacimientos megalíticos hasta las colecciones del siglo XX, pasando por basílicas paleocristianas y fortificaciones del siglo XVIII. La mayoría de los monumentos reseñados en esta guía ofrecen información en varios idiomas y a un nivel didáctico para hacer la visita agradable y entretenida.

Algunos de los puntos con mayor interés son: el poblado talayótico de Torre d'en Galmés y las ruinas romanas de Sanitja, donde se puede ver el trabajo de los arqueólogos durante los meses de verano, Torralba d'en Salord, Trepucó o Talatí de Dalt o la construcción funeraria la Naveta de Tudons.

The "Xarxa Menorca Monumental" (the Minorcan Monument Network) is made up of a group of some thirty monuments of different ownership. The "Fundació Destí Menorca" (the Destination Minorca Foundation) coordinates it with the aim of undertaking joint action in spreading the word on the sites that are available for cultural visits.

Visiting the monuments that make up this network is to get to know ?rst hand the witnesses to our history: from the megalithic archaeological sites to the collections of the 20th century, passing by Paleo-Christian basilicas and 18th century fortications. The majority of the monuments highlighted in this guide offer information in various languages and on a didactic level that makes a visit pleasant and easy to understand.

Some of the points with major interest are: the settlement talayótico of Tower d'en Galmés and in Sanitja's Roman ruins, there Visitors can see archaeologists at work during the summer digs, Torralba d'en Salord, Trepucó or Talatí de Dalt or the funeral construction Tudons's Small drawer.

La Sinagoga del Tránsito alberga en su interior el Museo Sefardí, donde se muestra el marco histórico y geográfico del pueblo judío.

Sobre la Roca Tarpeya, antigua residencia del artista, se encuentra hoy el Museo de Victorio Macho. En estos momentos acoge las obras del Museo de El Greco.

Alberga la extraordinaria colección de obras donada por Esteban Vicente, el único miembro español de la primera generación de la Escuela de Nueva York del Expresionismo Abstracto Americano. It shelters the extraordinary collection of works donated by Esteban Vicente, the only Spanish member of the first generation of the School of New York of the Abstract American Expressionism.

Pintura, artes decorativas y objetos curiosos ponen de manifiesto el afán coleccionista del matrimonio formado por don Ángel Rodera y doña Rafaela Robles.

Painting, decorative arts and curious objects there reveal the zeal collector of the marriage formed by don Ángel Rodera and dona Rafaela Robles.

Recoge importantes piezas distribuidas en tres colecciones de bellas artes, etnografía y arqueología. Entre ellas destacar las pinturas de la escuela hispano flamenca y el sepulcro de doña Aldonza de Mendoza. It gathers important pieces distributed in three collections of fine arts, ethnography and archaeology.

Between them the paintings of the school emphasize Hispanic Flemish and doña Aldonza of Mendoza´s sepulcher.

La que más me gusta es la parte de las Escapadas y Viajes por los sitios que recomendáis.

Por las tardes siempre está en el café de la esquina. Es alto, gigantón, y muestra una burlona expresión natural en el rostro alargado. Viste de manera informal: jeans, zapatillas de ante y polo de rugby. En el barrio le conocen a él y también a la cadena de electrodomésticos de su familia. Por las mañanas da un paseo largo con Ben, su pastor alemán, y después sale a comer conduciendo su todoterreno, con el perro grande y sereno y bondadoso erguido en la parte de atrás observándolo todo a través de la amplia luna trasera.

Antes de caer la tarde se ducha, se peina y se pone un polo de rugby limpio y bien planchado. Sale de casa dejando una estela de colonia en las escaleras, en el ascensor y en el garaje. Al llegar al café da un vistazo preciso y se sienta a la barra y pide un ronconcocacola. Los grupos van reuniéndose y, aunque nadie lo diría, le gustaría formar parte de cualquiera de ellos.

Cuando se marcha, el parpadeo luminoso de su coche le hace recordar a Ben y la melancolía acostumbrada del regreso se le desprende en parte como la ladera nevada de una montaña. Después salen juntos en la noche y Ben le sigue sin separarse de su lado.

Juegan en el parque con una pelota de goma de colores antes de volver.

La casa está a oscuras, pero su figura se ilumina por la luz que sale del televisor enorme como una pantalla de cine. Ben está a su lado, sobre la alfombra, y su pelaje se funde en ella. Hoy ponen una de acción de Nicolas Cage que ya ha visto pero le gustó tanto que quiere repetir. Hoy se siente bien, casi feliz. Pero otras veces, en la misma posición, una lágrima solitaria se desliza sobre sus largas mejillas hasta mojar su polo de rugby limpio y bien planchado.
