Caravaca de la Cruz está celebrando, desde principios de 2010, su segundo Año Jubilar. Esta ciudad del Noroeste murciano aguarda la llegada de miles de peregrinos para mostrarles su gran tesoro: la Santísima Vera Cruz, un relicario en cuyo interior se guarda un 'Lignum Crucis', un fragmento del madero en el que fue crucificado Cristo. This village, located in the north-west of Murcia, waits for the arrival of thousand of pilgrims to show them its greatest treasure: the Most Holly Vera Cross, a locket where the Lignum Crucis is kept. The Lignum Crucis is a piece of the wooden Cross where Jesuschrist was crucified.

Related by Anthony Daniels, this production has a symphonic orchestra and a choir, the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, accompanied by differents scenes of the films which have been specially edited for this show. Creo que lo más importante es que es muy fiel a la obra original de J. M.Barrie. Hay que recordar que la historia de Peter Pan no viene de Disney, es una obra escrita para teatro aunque ellos se encargaran de hacer una película sensacional. Lo fundamental para mí es que el mensaje tenga la calidad de la obra original. La puesta en escena es magnífica, el espectáculo cuenta con efectos especiales, un maquillaje y vestuario muy cuidados y consigue conectar con el público gracias a la magia. En el caso del teatro musical, es especialmente importante rodearse de profesionales que sean completos en todas las disciplinas. Después de tres años en gira por toda España por fin, Peter Pan aterriza en Madrid ¿En qué es diferente el público madrileño? Madrid ha sido el broche final de esta gira que nació realmente en 2003 cuando representamos el espectáculo en Terra Mítica. Fue toda una experiencia y la primera vez que un musical de estas características se estrenaba en un parque temático. I think the fidelity to J.M. Barrie's original work is most important. Remember that the story of Peter Pan doesn't come from Disney. It is a theater piece, though Disney turned it into a successful movie. For me, it is fundamental that the message transmit the quality of the original work. The theater production is magnificent, containing special effects, costume, and makeup to inspire appreciation of magic. In the case of musical theater, it's especially important to be surrounded by professionals in every field. During the course of three years touring all of Spain, Peter Pan finally arrives in Madrid. What is different about the madrileño audience? Madrid has been the perfect finale to this tour, which really began in 2003 when we put on the show in Terra Mitica. It was the first time that a musical with these types of characters performed in a theme park. There, we got the idea to bring it to all the cities and towns we possibly could: places where people are accustomed to enjoying musical theater, like Madrid, but also locations where people are not used to it. We noticed that the audience in Madrid is simultaneously tough to please and extremely appreciative.

donde no están habituados. Se nota que el público de Madrid es duro pero a la vez es extremadamente agradecido. ¿Qué espectador te resulta más exigente, el infantil o el adulto? El público infantil es más exigente, sin lugar a dudas. Todo tiene que ir sin trampas ni trucos, conectan o no conectan con la obra, no hay doble trasfondo. Yo siempre digo que los niños son niños, no son tontos. Lo verdaderamente difícil es que estén atentos a la obra, que no se despisten, que presten atención. Para conseguirlo, hay que jugar con la imaginación, superarse y esforzarse mucho más si cabe. Es fácil notar el ritmo de una obra por como se comportan los niños en el patio de butacas. Llevas vinculada a la escena prácticamente toda tu vida pero ¿qué ha significado para ti la creación de Peter Pan el Musical? Sin duda, me ha supuesto soñar con la imaginación y

Everything has to go off without a hitch, whether related to the play or not, and there is no second chance. I always say that children are children; they are not stupid. The truth is that they are very attentive to the play, they can't be fooled, they pay attention. In consequence, we have to engage their imagination, constantly improving and making the biggest effort we can. It's easy to gauge the smoothness of a play by observing how the children in the audience behave.? You have been involved with theater practically all of your life. What particular significance does the production of Peter Pan, The Musical have for you? Without a doubt, I have had to use my imagination and allow myself to be a child, to be able to work with fantastic characters day to day. There are a lot of

Hay mucho paralelismo con el mundo real, bastante más del que se puede esperar a simple vista. Como directora es todo un reto porque puede parecer que el teatro familiar o infantil es de menor calidad pero sucede todo lo contrario. Es muy necesaria la preparación, que todo sea perfecto y más en una obra como Peter Pan que es un montaje de gran formato. A nivel personal, uno de los mayores regalos ha sido hacer la función estando embarazada. Fue un momento verdaderamente especial e irrepetible.

Autora del libreto, intérprete de la obra y encargada de la dirección artística ¿cómo se consigue abordar todo ese trabajo y además hacerlo bien? ¡Se consigue viviendo en Nunca Jamás! La obra me ha permitido observar el día a día de adultos y niños, ver cómo se comportan, cómo reaccionan. Es una maravilla poder tener esta profesión que permite observarlo y compartirlo todo. Siempre aprendo del público y de la gente que me rodea e intento aplicarlo en todo lo que hago. A esto se suma un gran respeto por la profesión. Para mí, es una forma de vivir y sentir la vida.

The play has allowed me to observe the adults and children day to day, see how they behave and how they react. It's marvelous to have a profession that allows me to observe and compare everything. I always learn from the audience and from the people that surround me, and I try to apply what I learn in everything I do. This results in considerable respect for the profession. Peter Pan cuenta con el honor de ser el primer musical de capital español en estrenar en el West End londinense ¿qué ha supuesto para vosotros y cómo surgió la idea? Hace bastantes años que a nuestra productora, Theatre Properties, le apetecía la idea de estar en Londres. Después del éxito de público y crítica alcanzado en la gira, empezamos a fraguar el proyecto. En Londres buscamos gente de producción local y se trabajó durante un año. Allí todo es más exigente, hicieron un análisis de la trayectoria de la productora y, una vez que comprobaron la calidad de los montajes anteriores, estuvimos en el Garrick Theatre durante ocho semanas. Fue una experiencia maravillosa para todo el grupo, actuar en el West End es el sueño de cualquier profesional del teatro musical. Una de las conclusiones que sacamos fue que en España hay más nivel del que imaginamos.
Peter Pan has the honor of being the first musical from a Spanish capital to debut in London's West End. How did this happen for you and how did the idea emerge? For quite a few years, our production company, Theatre Properties, wanted to appear in London. With audience and critical acclaim from the tour, we began to form the project. In London we looked for local people to carry out production and work for one year. There, everything moves more quickly. They did an analysis of the background of the producer and, once they evaluated the quality of her previous shows, we came to Garrick Theater for eight weeks. It was a marvelous experience for the whole group; to work in the West End is a dream of any musical theater professional. One of the conclusions we reached was that in Spain there is a higher level of imagination.
Ahora la pregunta es casi obligada ¿Está Broadway en mente como paso a dar? Te puedo decir que sí, está en mente Broadway y que ya se está trabajando en ello. Sería un paso más, aunque lo más importante es la función día a día, sea donde sea. Pronto comenzaremos una gira por Latinoamérica con parada en México, Miami o Los Ángeles.
Now the question is almost obligatory: Is Broadway on your mind as the next step? I can tell you that yes, Broadway is on my mind, and I have already worked there. It would be another step for Peter Pan, although the most important thing is the day to day show, wherever it is. Soon we will begin a tour in Latin America with a stop in Mexico, Miami or Los Angeles.

parallels with the real world, quite a few more than one would expect at first glance. As a director I am faced with a challenge, because family theater might seem to have lower quality, but what happens is completely the opposite. Preparation is of utmost importance. Everything must be more than perfect in this grand production of Peter Pan. On a personal level, one of the main gifts of the show was working on it while pregnant. It was a unique and special time.

a fiesta recrea este episodio histórico en el mismo marco de hace cinco siglos. En este año, el sábado 6 y el domingo 7 de marzo, el casco histórico de Baiona recobra la animación, usos y costumbres del medievo. Los vecinos de Baiona, ataviados con trajes de época, participan en las múltiples actividades que se organizan. También son artífices de esta vuelta al pasado los mercaderes, comediantes y diversos personajes que se mueven en esos días por las calles del centro de la villa. In its Fiesta de la Arribada, Villa de Baiona re-enacts historic episodes in an authentic setting from five centuries ago. This year, on Saturday and Sunday, the 6th and 7th of March, the farmhouse and surrounding buildings in Baiona will present the routines and customs of medieval times. Baiona's neighbors, dressed in period clothing, will participate in multiple organized activities. The markets will carry crafts representative of this time period. Durante tres días, los restaurantes y bares de la localidad así como los diferentes puestos callejeros ofrecen la posibilidad de degustar productos naturales o elaborados a la manera tradicional. No faltan en la celebración las actividades de carácter cultural y de entretenimiento como la elaboración y lectura del Bando del Corregido, la publicación de una revista conmemorativa, así como la celebración de conferencias y conciertos de temática medieval. Si hablamos de actividades deportivas, tenemos que imaginarnos las prácticas habituales de finales de la Edad Media. Los Torneos de Justa son citas a las que los visitantes y vecinos acuden en masa para disfrutar de la espectacularidad de los enfrentamientos. El capítulo deportivo se completa con el Tiro con Arco o la Cetrería Montada. El mercadillo del casco histórico también forma parte de la tradición y permite adquirir numerosas piezas de artesanía en cuero, metal o piedra, entre otros materiales. En la mayoría de los puestos, se puede ver a los propios artesanos dar forma a los objetos y útiles de uso cotidiano. El empeño y dedicación de todas y cada una de las personas que participan en la organización a lo largo de estos años ha dado sus frutos y ha posibilitado que la Xunta de Galicia declarase en 1999 la Arribada, Fiesta de Interés Turístico. En la actualidad, nadie duda de la importancia y del prestigio alcanzado por la Fiesta de la Arribada. Un fin de semana consagrado a la tradición y que representa uno de los capítulos más importantes de nuestra historia tal y como sucedió .

Due to the hard work of Fiesta de la Arribada's organizers over the years, the Committee of Galicia declared it the top tourist festival in 1999. Tuve que llamar a la policía y nos dimos cuenta que no estaba tan mal como parecía, era sobre todo para evitarse pagar la carrera pero hubo suerte y pude cobrarla.

Estaba agotado. La noche anterior daba vueltas en su cabeza mientras caminaba, de vuelta a casa, por las calles vacías de los alrededores del teatro. -De niño una vez… aquellas personas, nadie más las vio… no puede ser -pensó. -Discúlpenos -escuchó, de pronto, a su espalda. Se detuvo y encontró frente a él una pareja de ancianos. Los pendientes de ella titilaban como estrellas en medio de la noche por encima del visón. El cuello ajustado de la camisa blanca de él destacaba sobre el resto de la indumentaria. Sonreían. -No era nuestra intención asustarle -dijo el hombre-, sólo queríamos felicitarle por su magnífica interpretación. -Ah, vaya… pues, muchas gracias… -No hay de qué -dijo el anciano sin darle tiempo a continuar mientras le tendía una mano extremadamente fría, como de mármol a la intemperie. La mujer sólo sonreía. -Gracias… gracias, buenas noches - dijo el violinista, abrumado. Se alejaron en sentidos opuestos y él volvió la vista un momento y les vio quietos, cogidos del brazo y observándole fijamente con su sonrisa esculpida. Él les sonrió también y continuó su camino cuando escuchó de nuevo la voz del anciano. - ¡Ah, una cosa más!… -dijo. Se volvió y ahora estaban demasiado lejos, envueltos en una suave niebla, como si ésta les transportara más allá de las calles y de los edificios. -Se nos olvidaba decirle que hoy ha estado mucho mejor que ayer… En un instante cerró los ojos y, al abrirlos, los espectadores habían desaparecido.
