ALICE + OLIVIA
ALICE + OLIVIA
For my window rendering I chose a 1:1 scale. I was inspired by the name Alice and Olivia and automatically thought of Alice in Wonderland. I wanted to turn the display into a modern Alice in Wonderland so I used inspiration from previous Alice and Olivia window displays to capture the whimsical and fantasy elements that they always use. The display is of the scene where Alice shrinks after drinking a vial of liquid. I used an over-sized door and end table, and even through the mannequin is normal height, we still get the sense that she has shrunk. I also incorporated the White Rabbit’s tail and pocket watch because, as usual, he is running late. I painted the walls a crimson pink to give the display a pop of color, while the door is a cool blue-grey. The floors are checkered because I liked the contrast of black and white and it also gave the display dimension. The walls, floor, and end table all have paint crystals mixed in to the paint so that it looks like glitter. I like though of glitter for this display because it is a good contrast to the leather dress I chose for the window. I placed the logo decal on the window so that it is easy to see and sticks out from the display.
