Letter to the Clients

Dear Clients, For years, men have been had a standard uniform, consisting of the basic graphic tees and blue jeans. This has changed over the past year and will continue into fall 2014/15. Menswear can expect a revitalization of the classic suit, sweater, and overall structured appeal of clothing through the trend Tailored Gangs. In the trend IndustRealized, options for tailored looks will become slightly more causal as pieces as mixed and matched, as well as layered. The latter two trends, Digitally Phased and Global Creed are generated are highly influenced by the younger male consumer, and most commonly, street style. The styling for Digitally Phased embraces the future while looking back to the past two decades, of a society highly influenced by technology. While Global Creed, seeks truth in fashion through various religious beliefs, and global ethical standards. These four trends are ones that will give way to more experimental advances for the ever increasing menswear market. These trends for fall 2014 will not only push the envelope in apparel and accessories, but in strategic marketing and merchandise at the retail level as well.

Menswear will pay its dues to classic pieces inspired by the attire of the most influential gangs of the early 1930’s through the 1950’s. From the Kray Brothers to the Rat Pack, this trend explores the formal formality of menswear. This rags to riches trend carries the idea of social dressing that is meant for a gentlemen, and his whole crew. IndustRealized honors the revolution of America and the machines and men who fortified the nation. This trend embraces industrial elements that was the foundation of the American economy. This exploration of old world materials has created a push towards eco-friendly and refurbishing. IndustRealized, has vastly spread into elements of home and decor, but most recently fashion. The combination, looks to the infrastructure of layered pieces, and a heavy push towards outwear and accessories, for a formal yet causal approach to dress.

Digitally Phased is a trend that embraces the future, while looking back to at the past decades. Digitally Phased encompasses the technology of now and what is to come, a trend that is fervently driven by technology. The look, although futuristic in color, is retro in silhouette. The trend is inspired by the casual styling of the late 80’s through the 90’s, a styling that was highly influenced by hip hop and sporty attire. This trend of over exposure to media and information overaload, will create fashion pieces that are highly driven by techlogically advnaced fibers. As well agraphic tees that employ a tromp l’oeil effect and subliminal messaging.

G lo ba l C re e d Global Creed embraces and celebrates the beliefs, folklore, myths and even superstitions of eastern nations. This trend targets the male consumer who is not afraid of trying the new and adventurous. This trend features oversized outerwear and prints. Prints can be seen all over, as show by McQueen or as a placement print which can be easily adapted by larger audiences. The materials for this trend will be handmade, and rich in detail. The textures will feature symbolic motifs created by laser cut finishing.
