Welcome to the Temple Rock 2017 Temple Rock is a special night where the TBE community comes together for a wonderful evening. This year, we are thrilled to be Swinging Under the Stars and dancing to the wonderful sounds of the Swingaroos under the direction of our own Artist in Residence, Assaf Gleizner.

The Temple Rock Committee together with the TBE professional and support staff works hard to make sure that this is a fabulous night for everyone. Evenings like this remind us what a special place TBE is and how fortunate we are to be members of such a wonderful institution.

We would be remiss if we did not remind you that Temple Rock also is TBE’s most important annual fundraiser after the Annual Appeal. Please take active part in both the live and silent auctions - not only do you walk away with fabulous items, but every dollar goes directly to TBE. Please spend generously. Temple Rock Guidelines and Rules Conditions of Sale: 1. Unless other specified, dates and times are to be arranged for redemption of your purchase at the mutual convenience of the donor and the buyer, and all applicable offerings (e.g. lodging, airfare, restaurants) are subject to space availability and reservations. Please read all conditions and specifications carefully.

2. Unless otherwise noted, all items and services must be used within one year of the date of purchase (February 1, 2017).

3. Payment must be made in full by cash, check, American Express, MasterCard or Visa. Items will be released to you upon presentation of a paid receipt.

Note: A convenience fee of 3% will be assessed on all credit card charges.

4. Temple Beth El warrants neither the quality nor the value of the items or services offered this evening. All items are sold in “as is” condition. Dollar values are estimated and provided by the donor and are not warranted by Temple Beth El. 5. By participating in this Auction, each bidder recognizes that neither Temple Beth El nor anyone who assists in conducting this Auction shall be liable for any occurrence resulting from this Auction by reason of use of the purchased items or services.

6. If it is necessary to leave prior to the conclusion of the Auction and the creation of the invoices (please see Payment Guidelines below) and you win any items, you will be called the next morning to arrange to pay for and pick up your item(s). By leaving your bid “in” prior to the close of the tables, you will be obligating yourself to pay for the winning item.

Auction: 1. The Auction starts at 7:30 p.m. Items, when practical, are displayed for your viewing pleasure on tables in the social hall. When an item is not able to be displayed there will be a sign describing the item in detail.

2. When you see an item you are interested in, CLEARLY write your bidder number, initials and dollar amount of your bid on the corresponding bidding sheet.

3. Please make certain that your bid is higher than those above it, and observe the minimum required increment shown on the bidding sheet or your bid will be invalidated (deemed “illegal”).

4. We urge you to check back frequently during the Auction to make sure that you still have the highest bid on the item you want. You may wish to increase your bid over the last bid listed. The winner of each item will be the highest legal bid on the sheet for that particular item at the close of the Auction. The Silent Auction will close at 9:00 p.m.

5. At 11:00 p.m. a summary will be made available listing all the bidder numbers with each winning auction item number beside it. If you have won items, proceed to checkout in the lobby to pay for and claim your merchandise or certificates.

Payment Guidelines: All merchandise can be paid for and picked up in the lobby starting at 11:15 p.m.

1. Please understand that it takes time to tabulate the winners of each silent auction item and then add the results from the Live Auction and create individual invoices for each bidder number. Please do not ask to be cashiered out prior to 11:00 p.m. unless you are using “Express Checkout.�

2. Items must be paid for by cash, check, American Express, MasterCard or Visa.

3. Express Checkout is available. If you plan to leave early, you may sign a credit authorization at the registration and your charge card will be billed for your purchases. 4. Present your paid invoice to the merchandise distribution volunteers to receive your winning items.

5. If it is necessary to leave prior to the conclusion of the Auction and the creation of the invoices, you will be notified if you have won either an Auction item or Raffle item the next morning.

Tax Information The Temple is required to provide information regarding the deductibility of payments by patrons at our fundraising events.

The IRS states that fundraising activities in which part or all of a contribution may be deductible includes auctions when merchandise or benefits are received in return for payment of a specified minimum amount.

For the auction items: The fair market value, to the best of our knowledge, will be listed in the catalogue. If your successful bid is higher than the value stated, the difference is tax deductible.

Please consult with your tax advisor for the full extent of your tax deduction.

The Swingaroos featuring our own Assaf Gleizner are NYC’s MidwesternBorn, New Orleans-bound, Hollywood-exploited Territory Band. Vocalist Kimberly Hawkey leads a dynamic crew of the finest in NYC’s swing scene, forming a youthful, high-energy replica of a small touring band from the 20s, 30s or 40s. The Swingaroos light up the joint with award-winning vocals and savvy musicianship by artists who have appeared in person at Birdland, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Blue Note, and other top-tier establishments. Reflecting the versatility of original Territory Bands, The Swingaroos delight in spreading hot jazz and joy to the hip and hungry masses with their own brand of original songs, Hollywood hits and jukebox favorites.

The Swingaroos' debut album, “All Aboard!” features the same original tunes heard at their live shows and is now available for digital download on Bandcamp.

We are thrilled to have a celebrity auctioneer again at Temple Rock the year: Mr. Howard Finkel, aka “Finkus Maximus,” the only WWE personality to have appeared on-camera at every Wrestle Mania event.

For parts of five decades, the likes of a Hulk Hogan and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin were instantly regaled as WWE Champions because Howard Finkel’s resonance and timbre made it so. His illustrious career in and around the ring culminated with his 2009 induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.
